White House staff genuinely horrified by some of the phone calls Donald Trump has made to world leaders.

Oh, this just gets worse and worse, doesn’t it?

Courtesy of Vice:

US President Donald Trump’s phone calls and interactions with foreign leaders have always left room for speculation. But according to his former aides and members of his administration, the conversations have left them “genuinely horrified”, The Washington Post reported.

One of the phone calls that was of particular concern was his conversation with Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte in April 2017, wherein Trump congratulated the latter for an “unbelievable job on the drug problem” referring to the bloody drug war that has killed over 20,000 people, according to the Human Rights Commission.

At that time, the White House had dismissed the conversation as one of several calls Trump made to heads of state in Southeast Asia. Critics of Duterte’s bloody campaign against drugs however, said Trump’s congratulatory message was an endorsement of Duterte’s alleged disregard for due process and human rights.

The criticism apparently didn’t affect Trump.

Washington Post reported that the call to Duterte was just one of many that Trump made to world leaders who are either “outright authoritarian or display authoritarian tendencies” recounting how the officials were outrageous and borderline selling out.

Other leaders included China President Xi Jin Ping, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

According to the White House staff, they feared Trump would make promises he couldn’t keep, endorse policies that the US government would not support, commit diplomatic blunders that could jeopardise alliances, or make deals in exchange for personal favours.

“There was a constant undercurrent in the Trump administration of [senior staff] who were genuinely horrified by the things they saw that were happening on these calls,” said one former White House official. Among them, the official said, were “phone calls that were embarrassing, huge mistakes he made, months and months of work that were upended by one impulsive tweet.”

This situation has gone well beyond terrifying, and it only reveals the absolute neccessity for impeachment as soon as possible.

“U.S. Navy Admiral James Stavridis served as the commander of both U.S. Southern Command and U.S. European Command, and from 2009 to 2013 was NATO Supreme Allied Commander for Europe. In 2016, he reportedly came close to being named Hillary Clinton’s running mate, before she chose Sen. Tim Kaine.

Now Stavridis has written a book on leadership, “Sailing True North: Ten Admirals and the Voyage of Character.” In a visit to Yahoo Finance on Thursday to discuss the devolving political situation in Turkey and Syria, Stavridis assessed the overall leadership of President Trump.

“It’s just such a chaos machine,” Stavridis says. “I look at close friends of mine like H.R. McMaster, who was the national security adviser, Jim Mattis, John Kelly, who for a time was the chief of staff—all of them have seen their reputations diminished. All of them tried hard to serve as a kind of guardrail set around an extremely, shall we say, exuberant president. President Trump is utterly decisive, the problem is he makes a decision but then he often reverses course. Very very difficult to be in that environment. When I worked for President Obama, I found the opposite—he’s so deliberate and takes such a long time to make a decision, because he wants to measure everything. There’s probably a balance in there that would be appropriate for making those kinds of decisions.””

“President Donald Trump has appointed an author of self-styled “Illuminati” self-help and financial advice books to a position on a federal education board.

The appointment of George Mentz ― who also writes under the pen name “Magus Incognito” ― to the Commission on Presidential Scholars was announced last Wednesday in a White House press release.

The group is tasked with selecting “presidential scholars” from across the country, an honorific reserved for 161 high school seniors who “demonstrate exceptional accomplishments in academics, the arts, career and technical education and an outstanding commitment to public service.”

Federal Election Commission filings show Mentz has given substantial sums to Republican causes and candidates, including more than $10,000 to Trump’s campaign and an associated political action committee.”

Remember how Trump (and the Republicans) *luuuuuv* the uneducated? Just saying.

    Speaking of uneducated.

The senate is advanced a FOURTH unqualified candidate for a life time court appointment.

” Senate Republicans voted Thursday to advance another of President Donald Trump’s judicial nominees, Justin Walker, who earned a rare and embarrassing “not qualified” rating from the American Bar Association.

Every Republican on the Judiciary Committee voted to advance Walker, the president’s pick for a lifetime seat on the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky, to the Senate floor for a confirmation vote. Every Democrat voted no.”

Oh, and guess what? Walker was the one that so rabidly defended Kavanaugh during his hearings. Now he’s being handed a life time appointment. QUID PRO QUO is screaming in my head.

“When Kavanaugh was nominated to the Supreme Court in 2018, Walker went out of his way to defend his former boss against credible allegations by Christine Blasey Ford that he sexually assaulted her when they were high school students. Walker participated in more than 70 media interviews challenging Ford.

“She may believe that assailant was Brett Kavanaugh,” Walker claimed in a Fox News interview in September 2018. “I believe she’s mistaken.””

I forgot to mention. Walker was suggested to Trump by Moscow Mitch and this appointment is for U.S. District Court state of Kentucky. Yep. That’s right McConnell country. What do you want to bet that anything that comes up before him having to do with McConnell will hand in McConnell’s lap? What is it dictators do? They own the courts!

    And the “Piece de Ridiculous”.

Donald Trump has decided to hold the June 2020 G-7 summit at his own Doral property. Really. Emoluments be damned.

“The White House announced on Thursday that next year’s G-7 summit will be held at a resort hotel the president owns near Miami, the Trump National Doral, raising concerns that he would personally profit from the presidency.

The Emoluments Clause of the Constitution prohibits government officials from receiving gifts or payments from foreign governments, who would be subsidizing the stays of their diplomats at the three-day-long meeting in June.

“Given the potential consequences the president is facing for abusing the presidency for his own gain, we would have thought he would steer clear of blatant corruption at least temporarily,” Noah Bookbinder, executive director of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, or CREW, said in a a statement. “Instead he has doubled down on it. The president is now officially using the power of his office to help prop up his struggling golf business. There appears to be no bottom to President Trump’s corruption.””

“Mulvaney told reporters during a press briefing that the Trump National Doral is the “best place” to host the summit, dismissing concerns that the president would personally profit by doing so.”

But of course he did. Mulvaney is up to his ass in the Ukraine scandal too.

““There’s no issue on him profiting on this in any way, shape or form,” Mulvaney said.”

Really? Is Trump DONATING it and all costs pertaining to it? Delegates and all of their people will have everything comped? Rooms, meals, security costs? If not, then Trump is profiting from it and we *know* he’s profiting from it.

“Mulvaney said the administration looked at 12 potential sites before settling on the Doral. “This was by far and away the best choice,” he said.

The acting chief of staff dismissed one reporter’s comparison of Trump to former Vice President Joe Biden, saying the Trump family made its money before Trump was in office. (The president is facing a House impeachment investigation for pressuring the government of Ukraine to dig up dirt on Biden for allegedly using his office to personally profit.)

Mulvaney said Trump is aware that hosting the summit at his own property could raise concerns of impropriety.

“The president knows that,” he said. “We know the environment we live in. He knows exactly he’s going to get that reaction. That’s fine, I’m willing to take that.””

Of course, all this is assuming Trump will still *BE* president in June of 2020.

““The radical Democrats want to destroy America as we know it,” “They want to indoctrinate our children. And teach them that America is a sinful, wicked nation. You see that happening all the time.”
“I know it from personal experience,” Trump added as the crowd booed. “What they want to teach your kids. Not good. They come home. This is what I learned. You are going, no. Don’t tell me. Let’s get them into another school fast.””

“What was done to Muskie is precisely what is being done to Biden. The president of the United States orchestrated a secret campaign of smears and deceit meant to destroy the political opponent he perceived as the most threatening to his own reelection. For Muskie, that president was Richard Nixon. For Biden, it’s Donald Trump.”

“Ahead of the 1972 election, his campaign and the White House hired a host of characters to screw with his opponents in the Democratic Party. The ultimate goal was to get the party to nominate South Dakota Sen. George McGovern, an anti-war figure they believed to be the least electable. (They were right.)

One of these characters was Donald Segretti, a University of Southern California frat boy, who was known for pulling political pranks to win student elections. Segretti and his buddies called these pranks “ratfucking.” Segretti and his ratfuckers were given the task of sowing confusion among the Democratic Party presidential candidates Nixon feared the most: former vice president and 1968 presidential candidate Hubert Humphrey, Washington Sen. Henry “Scoop” Jackson and Muskie.

Among the many things Segretti and his team did to the Democratic Party presidential field was to forge letters from one campaign making wild allegations against another. They stole Muskie campaign letterhead and sent letters out alleging that sexual misconduct by Humphrey and that Jackson had fathered an illegitimate child with a 17-year-old girl. Muskie had to deny sending the letters while both Jackson and Humphrey were forced to deny the allegations.”

Just a little of what we have to look forward to, only updated to all of the technology available to date. That means doctored video, Twitter/Facebook/YouTube/Instagram and of course the propaganda arm of Trumps media I.E. Fox and Sinclair and maybe even the National Enquirer.

“Segretti ended up pleading guilty to three counts of distributing fraudulent campaign material and served four months of his six-month prison sentence.”

And that is why they do it. No consequences.

““[A]lways remember, others may hate you, but those who hate you don’t win unless you hate them, and then you destroy yourself,” Nixon said in his farewell statement.”

“As he heads toward his own impeachment, it’s unlikely he’ll heed Nixon’s final message from the White House.”
