A mystery is brewing at the White House about what happened to the oak tree President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron planted there last week.

The sapling was a gift from Macron on the occasion of his state visit.News photographers snapped away Monday when Trump and Macron shoveled dirt onto the tree during a ceremonial planting on the South Lawn. By the end of the week, the tree was gone from the lawn. A pale patch of grass was left in its place.

The White House hasn’t offered an explanation.

Okay so after I posted this I did a little research and it turns out that the tree is in quarantine, where apparently all plants from overseas must spend some time until they are deemed safe.

Hmm. Too bad we could not have placed Trump in quarantine until we determined that he was safe.

His fat ass would likely still be there.

Well, I’m waiting to see if that’s actually the case – I don’t trust anything that comes out of that administration. I’ve never heard of this quarantine before and it seems like a BS answer to me. How long is the tree supposed to be in quarantine? Why wasn’t this taken care of prior to Macron’s visit? Are they saying Macron brought the tree with him on the plane – did he plop it in the seat next to him? Just saying – this doesn’t pass the smell test to me. It could’ve been very easily shipped ahead of time and quarantined as necessary – Before they planted it. Curious if this has ever happened before where they yank the tree out of the ground after planting it? Nope – just sounds weird!
