Well I know which team I am NOT rooting for in today’s Superbowl.

(That is Patriots owner Robert Kraft on the left walking with Trump.)

Courtesy of HuffPo:

The owner of the New England Patriots NFL team praised President Donald Trump in an interview with Fox News’ morning show “Fox & Friends” on Friday.

Robert Kraft, whose Patriots face the Los Angeles Rams in the Super Bowl on Sunday, said Trump was “working very hard to serve the best interests of the country.”

He also welcomed the president’s support in the upcoming game. “We can use every fan who wants to support us from wherever they are in their standard of life,” he explained.

Kraft is a longtime friend of Trump and donated $1 million to his inaugural celebrations.

Look I am aware that there are likely a number of NFL owners who support Trump.

But if they do they should just shut the fuck up about it.

At this point, I would not even go to a dentist who I knew voted for Trump.

Having said that I was already going to root against the Patriots before I even read this because I really hate them now.

I mean for fuck’s sake let somebody else have a turn.

Well, it’s likely that a majority of our doctors, dentists, etc. voted for Don the Con because their great tendency is to be Republican. It’s their fear of universal health care, you know. But, I, as a person who cannot sit through a televised football game, would not root for the Patriots either. I’m tired of Tom Brady and I’m suspicious of his “prowess,” although I’m not even sure what he’s supposedly so good at. And that photo make the team seem better to me.

I have a number of doctor friends who are totally in favor of universal healthcare, and most of them live in my VERY conservative Kevin McCarthy district.

Add “other” between “the” and “team” in the last sentence above. It was early here in northern Michigan and my eyesight is not great in the morning.

Well, this Yankee LOVES the Patriots!! WOOT WOOT!

  3. Anonymous February 3, 2019 at 5:29 am

Seriously, I could care less, NFL, with billions in profits pays NO TAXES and is listed as a non-profit. What a joke, I also suspect the games are rigged. What is the name of the team that was cheated out of the superbowl by a “bad call”?

I also will NOT be turning in for the trump lie fest, I mean interview before the game.

At this point, ANyoNE who supports Trump is morally bankrupt.

Deutsche Bank refused Trump a loan during the 2016 campaign. They were apparently concerned about his defaulting.

“reporter Elizabeth Nolan Brown took a close look at arrest logs in Houston after the 2017 Super Bowl and found not a single arrest for sex trafficking, soliciting a minor, pimping, or other charges connected to forced prostitution over Super Bowl weekend. The attention being heaped on this topic reflects larger trends in awareness of commercial sexual exploitation—the term now preferred by experts, since trafficking connotes travel, which is not the core problem. In 2005, Atlanta police warned that 1,000 women and girls between ages 13 and 25 were being forced to work as prostitutes. The city spent $600,000 on a task force to rescue them. They identified just four victims, as an investigation by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution later revealed.”

    YET:
““Atlanta is one of the top cities for sex trafficking of children in the United States,” the group’s website said. “With the Super Bowl coming in February 2019, we need your help to rescue these missing kids.” “ATLANTA — Investigators said Friday 40 people have now been arrested for sex trafficking in the metro Atlanta area as part of crackdown during Super Bowl week.

Homeland Security spokesperson Brian Cox said that seven more arrests had been made since a news conference two days earlier. Four people have been recovered: two adults and two juveniles”

Hey haters guess what? The winning never gets old for us New England fans. Enjoy your good books tonight. Or perhaps you can watch Rachel Maddow reruns on NBC. Probably a big Russia reveal she’s been saving up. Don’t waste your time watching the GOAT. So unpleasant for you.

” In this moment of racial repression and moral mendacity, when the ideals of democracy are undermined daily, the debate over national anthem protests reminds us that the fight to affirm the sanctity of black life is much longer and deeper than a Sunday afternoon game.”

    RAMum.

Lifelong fan of Gladys Knight. Tuning in for her rendition of the anthem and BYE LLIII.
The stupid anthem debate is just that. Go right ahead and tell me how unpatriotic I am.
Like the Cowboys are “America’s Team” and Giuliani is “America’s Mayor.”

        https://www.rawstory.com/2019/02/super-bowl-sunday-taking-knee-6-times-national-anthem-protests-rocked-america/

““By an act of the American Congress, not yet two years old, slavery has been nationalized in its most horrible and revolting form,” Douglass declared to an audience in Rochester, New York. “By that act, Mason and Dixon’s line has been obliterated; New York has become as Virginia; and the power to hold, hunt, and sell men, women and children, as slaves, remains no longer a mere state institution, but is now an institution of the whole United States.”

“1969, Jimi Hendrix played an epic instrumental version of the “Star-Spangled Banner” that transformed the national anthem into a protest song in which the bombs bursting in air sounded very much like the B-52s then raining death on the people of Vietnam.”
