We’ve seen this movie before.

The United States is deploying military forces to the Middle East after Saturday’s drone attacks on major oil sites in Saudi Arabia that the administration of President Donald Trump has blamed on Iran.

“The president has approved the deployment of U.S. forces which will be defensive in nature and primarily focused on air and missile defense,” U.S. Secretary of Defense Mark Esper said at a news conference Friday.

Answering reporters’ questions about the deployment, Gen. Joseph F. Dunford Jr., chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, described the troop deployment as “modest” and “not thousands.”

Dunford said he planned to confer with U.S. Central Command and Saudi officials to work out details of the deployment, which he said would be announced next week.

So only ten days past 9-11 we are sending troops to defend the country which was the home for fifteen of the nineteen hijackers?

Does anybody else have a problem with this?

And just in case you do not see how this whole thing is going to play out, let me give you the heads up.

First we send troops into the country to monitor things, let’s call them “advisors.”

Then one of our soldiers is injured in some way, by flying shrapnel, a sniper bullet, stubs his toe on the jeep late at night, something.

At that point America gets all indignant that somebody has dared to injure one of our precious military members and we send in a couple of battalions ready to kick ass and call everybody “towel head.”

That provides more chances for potentially violent encounters and the next thing we know we are watching footage of our brave soldiers fighting Iranain troops to “protect our feeedoms at home.”

The entire time this is happening we have a president who is claming that he did not want a war, while masturbating furiously at his poll rising numbers due to newly carbonated nationalistic zeal.

At that point you can forget impeachment because the country will not stand for impeaching a president during wartime.

(Yes I know we are already in a war, but nobody pays any attention to those anymore, that’s why Trump needs a new one.)
