Twitter deletes over 10,000 accounts that posed as Democrats discouraging people from voting in midterms.

Just as a heads up if you see an account discouraging people from voting in the midterms, you can bet your ass it is not a Democrat.

Twitter Inc (TWTR.N) deleted more than 10,000 automated accounts posting messages that discouraged people from voting in Tuesday’s U.S. election and wrongly appeared to be from Democrats, after the party flagged the misleading tweets to the social media company.

“We took action on relevant accounts and activity on Twitter,” a Twitter spokesman said in an email. The removals took place in late September and early October.

Twitter removed more than 10,000 accounts, according to three sources familiar with the Democrats’ effort. The number is modest, considering that Twitter has previously deleted millions of accounts it determined were responsible for spreading misinformation in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

Yet the removals represent an early win for a fledgling effort by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, or DCCC, a party group that supports Democrats running for the U.S. House of Representatives.

The DCCC launched the effort this year in response to the party’s inability to respond to millions of accounts on Twitter and other social media platforms that spread negative and false information about Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and other party candidates in 2016, three people familiar with the operation told Reuters.

One of the tactics used was one telling men that they should not vote in the midterm so as not to drown out the voice of women.

I actually saw that tweet posted here a while back, but it is so stupid that I knew right away that it was either a Right Wing troll or Russian.

The Democratic message this year is to vote, vote, vote, and it is the same message you will hear from every legitimate Democrat in the country.

VOTE for as many Democrats as you can on Tuesday, VOTE for every proposal that protects or expands the right to vote, VOTE for every proposal that will end gerrymandering. Don’t NOT vote – that’s what the Republicans want. If it’s rainy on Tuesday, put on your raincoat and boots and take your umbrella and go VOTE.

The future of this country and the world depends on what happens on Tuesday. God forbid that the GOP prevail because it will only embolden Don the Con to be even worse and we cannot tolerate much more “worse” from him and his deplorable ilk.

“He’s wrong. As President Obama pointed out, I am the most qualified candidate running. If you look at both my academic background, my work history, I have been deputy city attorney, I was the democratic leader for seven years, I have been successful as a businesswoman, as a writer, and as a tax attorney. I know what I’m talking about and I have the plans to prove it.”

“We now know Trump’s theory” for why his supporters voted for him. “Trump’s theory is that people voted for him because of racial resentment and racial anxiety,” Goldberg said. “Trump theory is that his base is scared, that they are racist and that they’re kind of dumb. Nobody treats Trump base, whatever we think about Hillary Clinton’s comment about deplorables, nobody treats these voters with more contempt than the president.”

She said that it’s clear he believes they will be scared of a “non-existent threat” of a caravan a month away.

“He believes he can make his base terrified enough they will turn out for him, and that’s what he thinks of the electorate,”
