Trump’s golf habit is costing taxpayers an actual fortune.

Donald Trump’s golf habit has already cost taxpayers at least $102 million in extra travel and security expenses, and next month will achieve a new milestone: a seven-figure presidential visit to another country so he can play at his own course.

U.S. taxpayers have spent $81 million for the president’s two dozen trips to Florida, according to a HuffPost analysis. They spent $17 million for his 15 trips to New Jersey, another $1 million so he could visit his resort in Los Angeles and at least $3 million for his two days in Scotland last summer ― $1.3 million of which went just for rental cars for the massive entourage that accompanies a president abroad.

In case you are wondering how this stacks up to the expenses for Obama’s trips to various courses, here you go:

The $102 million total to date spent on Trump’s presidential golfing represents 255 times the annual presidential salary he volunteered not to take. It is more than three times the cost of special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation that Trump continually complains about. It would fund for six years the Special Olympics program that Trump’s proposed budget had originally cut to save money.

While Republicans and Trump himself frequently criticized former President Barack Obama for his golf outings, Trump has spent more than twice as many days on the links, to date, as Obama did at the same point in his first term. And because Trump has insisted on dozens of trips to New Jersey and Florida to play at his resorts there, taxpayers are spending more than three times as much as they did for golf by the same point in Obama’s term.

So twice the number of trips at three times the cost.

And look there is nothing wrong with presidents getting time to relax, that is necessary for any high-stress job.

But I would like to point out that in between golf trips Barack Obama was trying to get everybody health care, repairing the economy, and killing Osama Bin Laden, while Trump spends his time off of the links tweeting like a madman, trying to get somebody to build his wall, and storming out of meetings with Democrats.

Do we know if he also spends time delousing Sarah’s wig?

When the irrefutable truth about everything that Trump did, past and present, eventually comes out as a result of all the current investigations, there will be a profound sentiment of shame in the country (at least for those who deal with reality) for having fallen prey to the biggest con job ever. The tsunami of shame will also engulf Trump’s allies and enablers, rightfully so. After the shame will come the task of picking up the pieces and hopefully restoring the United States of America that once was.

Madoff and those of his ilk conned and swindled limited groups of people.

By comparison, Trump conned an entire country into electing him to the highest office, imposed his ignorant and ill-advised views of the world without listening to anyone who did not think like him, weakened the country’s most sacred institutions to the point where laws and subpoenas don’t mean anything and single handedly destroyed the country’s standing in the world. How’s that for a con job!

I agree. But I sure hope the widespread realization that we were significantly conned will come sooner than later.

I think the backlash will be significant, and in a weird way, this meant end up being good for the country. Hopefully our shame will make us learn our lesson, and pass laws preventing elected officials from pulling the shit Trump’s doing, or even allowing another like him to get close to office.

I just hope we as a nation can admit how messed up this presidency was and vow to do better.

Trump conned an entire country into electing him
The entire country did not elect him, he was elected by the russians and an minority of Americans, which had the advantage of the electoral college working in their favor.

Wednesday, Trump announced in the Rose Garden that nothing will pass, get signed or move forward while Congress conducts investigations into his administration. He essentially “took up the mantle” for the gridlock in Washington “I will not take responsibility for his irresponsible behavior,”

80% of Trump’s weekday schedules are reserved for “Executive Time”, tweet storming and watching TV. At least one day a week he is flying off to someplace for a rally, so he can feed off the souls of his minions. Weekends (which usually begin on Thursdays) are reserved for golf and KFC. And we’re footing the bill.

Trump is a liar, dumb as a rock, and a madman. He’s had multiple business failures and he cheats at everything. And most of all, Trump is lazy. Trump is a real fuck-up. The sooner that he’s out of office the better it will be for the country.

He should be made to refund all the money that was paid out to his businesses.
