Trump unhappy with bipartisan border security compromise, claims he is getting money for wall from “other sources.”

I think those numbers that Trump read off there were pulled directly out of his ass.

The deal, as reported by the New York Daily News, does not give any money to Trump’s wall:

Congressional negotiators on Monday night reached a bipartisan spending deal to avert another government shutdown — and it doesn’t earmark one dime for the construction of President Trump’s long-promised border wall with Mexico, said sources familiar with the matter.

The breakthrough puts immense pressure on the President, who has insisted he won’t sign any budget that doesn’t earmark at least $5.7 billion for his coveted border barrier — a stubborn demand that in December resulted in a record 35-day federal shutdown that stretched to Jan. 25.

Sen. Richard Shelby (R-Ala.) and Rep. Nita Lowey (D-N.Y.) announced the deal after a closed-door meeting between lawmakers on a bipartisan conference committee, which has been tasked with hashing out a full-year spending plan before a large chunk of the government runs out of money again on Friday.

The lawmakers wouldn’t divulge details of the deal, only saying it had been reached “in principle.”

It was that which Trump was referring to in the above tweet.

Here is more courtesy of NYT:

President Trump declared on Tuesday that he was “not happy” about the bipartisan border security compromise negotiated by congressional leaders, but gave no indication whether he would sign or veto it before another government shutdown hits at midnight Friday.

In his first comments since learning details of the deal, Mr. Trump said he would have to study it more before deciding what to do. The compromise includes just $1.375 billion for new fencing along the border, far short of the $5.7 billion he demanded for a wall — and less even than the deal that he rejected in December, triggering a 35-day partial government shutdown.

“Am I happy at first glance?” he said, responding to reporters at the beginning of a cabinet meeting. “I just got to see it. The answer is no, I’m not. I’m not happy.”

But he said he was “using other methods” to build the wall and played down the chances of having to close government doors again. “I don’t think you’re going to see a shutdown,” he said.

This is good news about the shutdown, but I have no idea what Trump means by “other methods.”

But he doubled down on that in a couple of tweets sent out just a little while ago.

I am not a lawyer but I wonder about the legality of these “other sources.”

Hopefully at least this time the money is NOT coming from Russia.

Maybe he’s finally getting some wall money from Mexico 😂😂😂

    • Gryphen February 12, 2019 at 5:13 pm

      Yeah, I think that’s a hard no.

  2. slipstream February 12, 2019 at 4:52 pm

    Maybe he’s using Legos!

    • Gryphen February 12, 2019 at 5:12 pm

      Oh, that would be cool.

They don’t even have to construct them into a wall.

They could just leave them scattered around on the ground around the border.

Because I know when I step on one it stops me cold

        Very funny!

Better not be Medicare nor Social Security, that bleeping bleep!
Isn’t tax refund raping enough? OMG what am I saying, of course it isn’t…..

More lies for his dwindling base.

Just wait when they start stealing property for his wall..even fewer cults members.

  5. AK Lynne February 12, 2019 at 5:51 pm

Maybe he could get a few bricks for his wall from Pink Floyd.

  6. Anon February 12, 2019 at 6:01 pm

I read that he was considering taking money from disaster relief funds put aside for Calf. and Puerto Rico. Also, wants to spend National defense money set aside for building barracks and other infrastructure from defense money. That’ll take care of the commie liberals and those nasty brown people while also helping Pooty out by stressing our military. Fecking slimeball.

    • Marthe February 13, 2019 at 4:46 am

Anon 6:01 pm – I agree with you. Diverting funds set aside for other purposes seems to be the only way that he would be able to start building his wall. Better yet if the money is taken from people that he hates, Californians and Puerto-Ricans, he will get some measure of revenge which is what he lives for. That’s how small, vindictive and cruel he is.
His presidency and his 2020 re-election prospects depend on the wall and, being the crook that he is, he will find any which way to start the construction even if it means depriving other people of what would be rightfully theirs.
At this point, he doesn’t care if it’s ever finished, all he needs to do is to give his base the illusion that his big, beautiful, strong wall is becoming a reality.
He used the tactic before in his business days when he obtained funding for a project by bringing all sorts of equipment on a site to give the illusion of a major project underway when nothing had started. It’s the art of the con. Typical Donald.

    • Beaglemom February 13, 2019 at 5:50 am

I don’t think Don the Con can legally divert money already allocated by Congress. I do think that he would try and if, in the process, it hurts American citizens he wouldn’t care. What does he have against Puerto Rico anyway? Didn’t they beg him to slap his name on a resort or something? And I don’t think there’s a “Trump” building in California either.

      • Anonymous February 16, 2019 at 7:27 pm

The courts will decide. It will go to the SCOTUS and as usual, John Roberts will now be the swing vote. Again. As he will with the upcoming lawsuit about the citizenship question on the Census.

Ginsburg better not die for at least two years. Dems better win majority in the House and Senate and there better be a Democrat in the White House come 2020. If not, we are totally screwed. Because as I’ve been saying for four years, it’s all about THE COURTS. Lifetime judges. That’s the legacy of Trump we are going to have to live with for decades. I only hope Thomas dies with a Democrat in the White House. And Alito too.

  7. Anon February 12, 2019 at 6:40 pm

I saw a clip of Trump telling his rally crowd they need to finish the wall. I saw the enormous banner Finish the Wall. Are his supporters this stupid to be fooled that the great Trump Wall has been built and merely needs to be finished? OMG he just tweeted the same lie. This is reminiscent of Sarah Palin claiming she built the nonexistent largest pipeline ever. We will be hearing about Trump’s imaginary wall forever confronted by stupid people who will not believe it was never constructed.

    • Marthe February 13, 2019 at 5:01 am

Anon 6:40 pm – So true. “Finish the wall” gives the illusion that the wall has been started even though it’s absolutely not true.
Smoke and mirrors. That’s how he always rolled from his casinos to his bankrupt real estate projects to his fraudulent Trump University.
It’s hard to understand how so many people got conned and continue to get conned by the same tactics.

  9. White Rabbit February 12, 2019 at 7:09 pm

He’s lying his fat orange ass off to try to convince President Hannity that he really won the wall negotiation. He lost – bigly – at the hands of both Democrats and, finally, Republicans. His mouth- breathers will probably buy it but who cares? The government stays open and Congress gives him barely enough money to put up a curtain, no wall. Job well done, thanks again to a Democratic House and Speaker Pelosi. Keep
    Voting folks!

little donnie has gotten what he wanted.. a nice plaque with his name, put on the wall (repaired part) that was funded by the Obama administration. He doesn’t care about any old wall, he just wants his name on it… hope it had nice barbed wire to commemorated him and I image the detention centers will be named after him also. A fitting memorial to traitor trump.
    ============================================

Trump Toady Held BIG Ceremony To Install Plaque With His Name On Repaired Border Fence
….Then he casually mentioned that Trump might just be satisfied with 55 miles of fencing, put a plaque on it like he did in California, call it a success and herald the win to the heavens. At that point, Ruhle stopped him in disbelief.

RUHLE: Wait, did he put his name and a plaque on some replacement fencing, already?

GOMEZ: Yes, down in southwest, the southern border in California. DHS Secretary Nielsen went down there for a big ceremony. They bolted a plaque on a wall.

RUHLE: On a fence that they FIXED?

GOMEZ: Yeah, they mentioned the fact that it was replacement for fencing that was funded under the Obama administration.

VELSHI: You can’t make this stuff up. Kacie, thank you, Alan Gomez, thank you….

  15. Anonymous February 12, 2019 at 8:46 pm

Someone found a photo of the plaque.. remember this was put on a REPAIRED section of the wall.. plaque states:this plaque was installed on Oct 26 2018 to commemorate the COMPLETION of the first section of president trump’s border wall .. with donnie trump’s name is big letters

(the photo is in the comment section)

OMG little donnie is really a real sicko!

How much did this plaque cost the taxpayers and how many more are they making.. are they going to put them up even 10 feet on the wall? this is the reason he wants “his wall”

“claims he is getting money for wall from “other sources.”” Like this guy?
“An attorney for Connecticut Senate Republicans has been arrested on charges of embezzling more than $250,000 from a campaign PAC for which he was treasurer.

CT’s Republican-American newspaper reported Wednesday that 56-year-old Michael Cronin was charged with first-degree larceny after stealing $267,800 from the Senate Republican Leadership Committee — a PAC he was treasurer of from 2007 until 2018.

The report noted that Cronin admitted to authorities that he stole from the PAC, saying he “was trying to support his lifestyle and his family.”

In some instances, the Republican-American reported, the attorney admitted to stealing cash during withdrawals. In others, he said he took cash donations without depositing them into the PAC’s bank account.

Cronin, the report noted, also “admitted to falsifying reports to the state Elections Enforcement Commission” before he was fired from the PAC in December 2018 following suspicions about bounced checks and lack of payment to the campaign’s vendors.

Following his arrest, Cronin was released on a $50,000 bond.”<rawstory

Trump talks a good game on the border wall but it’s increasingly clear he’s afraid to fight for it. Call this his “Yellow New Deal.”

I mean, all donalds supporters could build that wall cant they? No one would stop them. Theyd be trying to shut out one of the hardest working people in this world then america would be left with the lazy red hats who feel entitled to this world and everything in it. Then who would clean donnies toilet for 3.50 an hour? Certainly no one from his base. America has to stop lying to itself. We need hardworking immigrants. But the proud aparthied wannabes have too much pride to admit that. And the fact that they are biting at the bit to have taxpayers foot the bill shows that they are grifters too like their donnie boy. Someone mentioned that putin could pay for it. Hed love that, caging us people born into a nasty lil thing called democracy, huh?
