This is the investigation that the Republicans and Trump fought so hard against.

President Trump on Friday ordered the FBI to conduct a “supplemental” investigation into the allegations of sexual assault against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh but wants it completed within a week.

“I’ve ordered the FBI to conduct a supplemental investigation to update Judge Kavanaugh’s file,” Trump said in a statement. “As the Senate has requested, this update must be limited in scope and completed in less than one week.”

Earlier, the Senate Judiciary Committee said it is requesting that Trump “instruct the FBI” to conduct the investigation, which would be “limited to current credible allegations against the nominee and must be completed no later than one week from today.”

Kavanaugh said in a statement he will cooperate.

“Throughout this process, I’ve been interviewed by the FBI, I’ve done a number of ‘background’ calls directly with the Senate, and yesterday, I answered questions under oath about every topic the Senators and their counsel asked me,” Kavanaugh said in a statement. “I’ve done everything they have requested and will continue to cooperate.”

There have been some rumblings that this investigation will be all for show and that it will not extend to any new allegations, nor will it be very comprehensive.

If that is the case the Democrats and American people need to continue to make noise until we get a real investigation into the allegations put forward, not just by Dr. Ford, but also the other women who have come forward, and any who might follow.

There is at least a bit more positive news, and that is that the ever elusive Mark Judge has agreed to participate in the investigation as well.

Courtesy of CNBC:

A lawyer for Mark Judge, the high school buddy of embattled Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, told CNBC that Judge “will answer any and all questions posed to him” by the FBI about serious sexual assault allegations against Kavanaugh.

The cooperation offer came after several senators asked for Kavanaugh’s final confirmation vote to be delayed until the FBI has a chance to investigate claims that he tried to rape a 15-year-old high school girl in the early 1980s while Judge looked on.

“If the FBI or any law enforcement agency requests Mr. Judge’s cooperation, he will answer any and all questions posed to him,” Judge’s lawyer Barbara Van Gelder told CNBC in an email.

Well, it certainly appears that things are moving in the right direction.

Let’s all wait and see what the Republicans and Trump do to sabotage the process, shall we?

Well I hope this is an indepth investigation and not just an interview of Mark Judge. I am sure he would lie for his good buddy. There are plenty of Yale grads and other that have come out with statements that back up the allegations of assault, excessive drinking and belligerent behavior. Even Yale Law school has come out for an investigation.

It will be interesting to see if Brett steps down using some excuse like it is taking too long ( such entitlement) or it is affecting my family to prevent the TRUTH from coming out. He was asked at least 8-10 times yesterday about an FBI investigation and he never answered yes, he did his song and dance routine. Which leads me to believe he is guilty of something.

Mark Judge has already sent a sworn statement :
    “3:15 p.m.

A high school friend of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh says he will cooperate with any law enforcement agency that will “confidentially investigate” sexual misconduct allegations against him and Kavanaugh.

Mark Judge sent a signed letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee on Friday, saying he “categorically” denies sexual misconduct allegations made by Julie Swetnick.

In a sworn statement released Wednesday, Swetnick accused Kavanaugh and Judge of excessive drinking and inappropriate treatment of women in the early 1980s, among other accusations.

Judge says in his letter that he doesn’t know Swetnick and does not recall any parties in the early 1980s where he “fondled or grabbed women in an aggressive or unwanted manner.”

He says Swetnick’s allegations are “so bizarre” and he “would remember actions so outlandish.”

  2. Anon September 28, 2018 at 2:34 pm

I’m pessimistic that anything will come from the FBI that will keep Kavanaugh from being confirmed. I’m just so fed up with the right wing.

  3. Whatevs September 28, 2018 at 2:42 pm

So let’s see, Mark Judge goes into hiding for a week, and…

    • Anonymous September 28, 2018 at 6:14 pm

CBC news reported that his attorney said Judge will cooperate with FBI as long as the results remain confidential. Also the investigation is limited in scope, but no one knows if that means they are only looking into Dr. Ford’s allegation or all three.

So if he lies and backs up brett, we will never know.

  4. Whatevs September 28, 2018 at 2:46 pm

[Judge} says Swetnick’s allegations are “so bizarre” and he “would remember actions so outlandish.”” But he also claimed to be wasted most of your high school and college years, and some say Kavanaugh went along for that ride.

    • Anonymous September 28, 2018 at 4:19 pm

His girlfriend already stated that Judge lied. Will they FBI talk to her also?

    • HRH September 28, 2018 at 6:04 pm

In the other direction: will anyone be surprised when one or more of his daughters come forward to claim Daddy Dearest was sexually inappropriate with her/them while drunk?

  5. Anonymous September 28, 2018 at 2:50 pm

One week for the investigation, we’ve been played.

    • Blue Wave September 28, 2018 at 9:32 pm

Exactly. Limited time AND “scope”. It’s all bullshit.

  6. Anonymous September 28, 2018 at 2:52 pm

I am kinda surprised that more hasn’t been said about Kamala Harris’ question regarding his opening rant about the liberal are smearing me because trump won and the clintons got revenge.

she asked him why there were no sexual allegations against Gorsech, who was a trump nominee, went to the same schools as he did and came before the same committee.

Brett sat there dumbfounded and never did answer the question.

    • anon September 28, 2018 at 3:52 pm

That was A telling moment … She also should have said “I don’t have to answer your questions sir. You are here to answer mine truthfully” OK.

…I might have heard a whip ‘crack’.

    • Blue Wave September 28, 2018 at 9:36 pm

And only one out of many that the over dramatic, lying, SOB didn’t answer.

Kavanaugh Classmate ‘Disappointed’ At His ‘Blatant Lying’

….Lynne Brookes, Kavanaugh’s classmate at Yale, spoke to Chris Cuomo tonight about Kavanaugh’s drinking habits in college and his testimony before the committee today, telling Cuomo she and her Yale classmates were “extremely disappointed in Brett Kavanaugh’s characterization of himself and the way he evaded his excessive drinking questions.

“There is no doubt in my mind that while at Yale, he was a big partier, often drank to excess.,” Brookes told Cuomo. “And there had to be a number of nights where he does not remember.”

  8. anon September 28, 2018 at 3:43 pm

“The FBI investigation means that Republicans can no longer run a cover-up operation for Brett Kavanaugh. The flow of information is no longer under their control. The gameplan for rushing Kavanaugh’s nomination through was to limit examination into the nominee’s past. It is why there are tens of thousands of pages of documents from Brett Kavanaugh’s time working in the Bush White House that has never been released.

It is why Republicans refused to allow an FBI investigation into the sexual assault allegations. It is also why the nominee has been so evasive with his answers.”

    • Anonymous September 28, 2018 at 4:36 pm

but, but, but didn’t little donnie tell us the FBI are a bunch of crooked cops or something on that order. 🙂

I love that Mr. Crocodile Tears photo. boo hoo hoo

next he will add the FBI on his list of conspirators plotting against him

  10. Anonymous September 28, 2018 at 4:49 pm

He wasn’t just angry yesterday, he was fuming during the first committee inquire, mostly when women were asking the questions.

Research shows anger is one of the four major responses to perpetrating sexual assault

………….Kavanaugh likely has been abusing women for most of his life. If he isn’t assaulting someone, he’s muttering about Hillary Clinton being a bitch. If he isn’t hating on a Clinton, he’s working on taking women’s legal rights to their bodies away. His hatred of women hasn’t just been tolerated—it’s been rewarded his whole life. It’s no wonder he has no idea how to handle this level of scrutiny.

This isn’t to say that Kavanaugh behavior yesterday proves that he did it because of this study. However, knowledge is power. Many people may assume that Kavanaugh’s anger is righteous since he barely showed any emotion before, but what if we considered that the angry, indignant men are yelling to obscure their shame—and the truth?

Obviously this “pig” is really slow on the uptake

GOP lawmaker’s campaign shares meme comparing Ford to Hillary Clinton

    • anon September 28, 2018 at 8:02 pm

“A spokesperson for King’s campaign told HuffPost on Friday that the meme is “obviously alluding to the Left manipulating the opposition against Kavanaugh’s nomination.”

When the news outlet pressed King’s campaign over whether the meme was appropriate for a congressional campaign to share, a spokesperson for the campaign said “the humor of that meme is pointed at the absurdity of the Left, nothing more.”

“Our page content is definitely not for people who struggle to have a sense of humor or irony,” the campaign spokesperson continued, before adding that the meme meant to point “at the absurdity of the Left.”

Kavanaugh, in his testimony, called Democratic opposition to his nomination “revenge on behalf of the Clintons” during an aggressive opening statement before the Senate panel on Thursday.”

  12. Crystal Sage September 28, 2018 at 4:58 pm

Except Kavanaugh never shed a tear – not one. All fake. Ugly crying because he feels entitled to be on the Supreme Court. What a disgusting pig.

  13. Anonymous September 28, 2018 at 6:38 pm

How narrow? All five (so far) of the accusers or just Ford?

What about the $200,000? The gambling? If it comes up or the FBI uncovers something it isn’t considered?

Will the report be made public or will the Republicans suppress it too?

  14. Anonymous September 28, 2018 at 7:28 pm

He’ll withdraw and claim he doesn’t want to put his family through this “difficulty”. His perjury and finances (read gambling addiction) can not stand the scrutiny of an FBI investigation. GeorgiaPeach

tidbit from politico: “Murkowski had endorsed an FBI investigation days before, only to change her tune after meeting for more than a half-hour privately with McConnell.”

She is still being controlled by McConnell. You can bet even if she is one lone vote against Kavanaugh that it’s part of McConnell’s plan. She will always be what she is and Alaskans will always fall for McConnell’s bullshit.

Now that Trump has said the FBI could investigate Kavanaugh, maybe they can take a week to investigate allegations against Trump too?

” PoliticusUSA’s Jason Easley noted earlier on Friday, “Donald Trump and the Senate Republicans won’t be able to rig the reopening of Brett Kavanaugh’s background check.”

“Positioning herself as a #MeToo supporter, she charges the democrats with having “hijacked #Me Too for political gain.” While lauding the movement for toppling serial sexual predators and harassers and advocating for and protecting the most vulnerable, she expresses concern that “the noble justice of #MeToo has been politically hijacked and weaponized, ”

“Orrin Hatch referred to her as “attractive” and “pleasing” as a witness, signaling that whatever words she said had not actually penetrated his fossil of a skull.”
Mayer and Abramson at one point got Biden to admit that by excluding talk about pornography, he acted “in fairness to Thomas, which in retrospect he didn’t deserve.” Essentially, he prized a man’s right to privacy as more valuable than a woman bravely agreeing to tell the nation about mistreatment she’d most likely rather forget.

    Sound familiar?

Abramson later described Biden’s “gentleman’s agreement” on pornography as “typical of the then-all-male Judiciary Committee.” Recall that he regretted not better controlling his “Republican friends.” Biden has had a comity addiction for most of his political career, priding himself on being a sort of Democratic John McCain

“He made at least one other shocking disclosure at that time. In 1991, The New York Times reported, that there were other occasions, according to Biden, when “he had been made aware of unsubstantiated reports of wrongdoings by nominees that he did not divulge in order to protect their reputations.”

Let that sink in. Rather than take seriously, and investigate, claims that someone who was about to get a lifetime appointment to the nation’s highest court, he worried about that person’s “reputation.”

cnn: 11 state lawmakers in Maryland have asked Montgomery County law enforcement officials to investigate the 36-year-old sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh

“We’ve also reported that there appear to be many provable claims that the nominee has committed criminal perjury, and his confirmation by the U.S. Senate is in serious jeopardy.

One thing we haven’t talked about a lot is the status of the ‘gang rape’ accusations made against Kavanaugh and his high school friends. These accusations were put in a legally-admissible sworn statement by Julie Swetnick, who is represented by Michael Avenatti. Avenatti said yesterday. “I know the identities of witnesses Julie said could corroborate her story, and I’m going to bring them forward soon.”

“SOON” means within the next 72 hours”

“He said this is not going to make voting for him any easier. He warned that the longer — while they do this investigation it could become tougher,” ”

Vice detective SHANA Keckley’s emails included press clippings previewing Daniels’ appearances in Columbus, photos of Daniels with Trump, videos of her dancing, and a map to the strip club, the Advocate reported.

Police initially said Daniels’ bust was “part of a long-term investigation into allegations of human trafficking, prostitution, along with other vice-related violations.” But Keckley’s emails to colleagues suggested otherwise.

“I got the elements….we arrested Stormy this morning, she is in jail,” she wrote. In another message, Keckley bragged about collaring the adult performer without naming her: “You’re Welcome!!!!!….Thank me in person later.”

  23. anonymous September 29, 2018 at 9:03 am

An attorney for Leland Keyser stated plainly in a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee that his client, a friend of Christine Blasey Ford, does not “refute” Blasey’s sexual assault claim against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

“Ms. Keyser does not refute Dr. Ford’s account, and she has already told the press that she believes Dr. Ford’s account,” the attorney, Howard Walsh, wrote in the letter sent late Friday. ”
Keyser wishes “to cooperate fully” with the supplemental FBI investigation into Kavanaugh the committee agreed upon at the eleventh hour, and which President Donald Trump formally requested on Friday.

Mark Judge, the only other witness to the alleged assault, according to Blasey, has also signaled a willingness to cooperate.

Ooops, I’m been calling Lindsay Graham “Franklin” — I don’t know where that came from. Sorry. But Lindsay did say, “This hearing was NEVER about truth.”

    • $BM-JB$ September 29, 2018 at 12:52 pm

“Protesters reportedly waved rainbow flags and handed out leaflets to people warning them of Graham’s past preaching, with statements such as “I love (gay people) enough to care to warn them that if they want to continue living like this, it’s the flames of hell for you” and “I believe (Islam) is a very evil and wicked religion.”

Other publications, including The Huffington Post, also picked up on the story, reporting that on Saturday and Sunday activists used a 12-foot-high Jesus figure draped with rainbow sash as part of their protests.”
“”I want everyone to know that God loves them — including every protester. He sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins. If we turn to Him in repentance and faith, God will not only forgive us, but give us eternal life and a new beginning,” “”Regardless of the hostility, I plan to preach> “This hearing was NEVER about truth.”

  27. AG Lady Lindsey? September 29, 2018 at 1:10 pm

I Told Sen. Lindsey Graham I’d Been Raped. His Response Was Telling.

I felt that it was important to go down to the Senate to bear witness, to the best of my ability, to this momentous day. I was, and am, in awe of Dr. Ford’s bravery.

I heard every disgusting word that Sen. Graham said…what hit me hardest was his assertion that we shouldn’t believe Dr. Ford because she couldn’t recall the exact date or location of the assault.

I couldn’t keep quiet on that. When Sen. Graham broke free from the press gaggle, I told him that I had been raped 13 years ago and that I didn’t know the exact date. Would he believe me despite that?

I don’t believe his apology was sincere, but, more important, this exchange, along with his treatment of Dr. Ford and countless other women in his tenure in elected office, demonstrated his lack of concern for sexual assault survivors and his complete lack of understanding of the dynamics that keep us from reporting to the police.

  28. Anonymous September 29, 2018 at 9:37 pm

But he’s OBSTRUCTING the FBI investigation. Telling them who they cannot question and narrowing the scope even further.
