A legal strategy that no president before Trump has ever been forced to utilize.

President Trump wants New York journalist E. Jean Carroll’s defamation lawsuit against him put on hold while he appeals former “Apprentice” contestant Summer Zervos’ case against him — arguing a successful appeal in Zervos could impact the Carroll case, according to new court papers.
Trump was granted permission last month to appeal to the New York Court of Appeals — the highest court in the state — in Zervos’ 2017 defamation lawsuit accusing him of calling her a liar when he denied her claims that he kissed and groped her.
Trump is expected to try to persuade the high court that the US Constitution bars state cases, like the Zervos case, from proceeding while he is president. The Zervos case is on hold in the lower court pending the Court of Appeals’ decision.
Trump late Tuesday filed court papers arguing that Elle magazine advice columnist Carroll’s defamation case also should not go forward in Manhattan Supreme Court until the Zervos appeal is resolved.
“If President Trump is successful on that appeal, this Court would be without jurisdiction to hear this action while President Trump is in office, and that threshold issue should be decided in the Court of Appeals before this action proceeds,” Trump’s lawyer Marc Kasowitz wrote in Manhattan Supreme Court papers.
Hoping to use the court findings that you cannot be sued while serving as president from one case of sexual assault to fight another case accusing you of rape I would guess never even occurred to the Founding Fathers as a possible abuse of power by a sitting president.
The next person to hold that office will need to conduct themselves with grace and dignity if they have any hope of raising the presidency from the sewers that Trump wallowed in for the last four years.

“Harvey Weinstein apologized to one of his alleged victims in the 1990s and admitted to her that he sometimes struggled to understand the concept of consent, according to legal notes reported by The New York Times. The notes, written down by a lawyer in 1998, were reportedly made when Weinstein was trying to arrange a settlement with two former Miramax assistants, Rowena Chiu and Zelda Perkins, to bring an end to allegations that he had assaulted Chiu. “I truly apologize for the pain I’ve caused you,” he is noted as telling them. “Things confusing for me too. You may not believe that. Sometimes don’t know when it’s consensual. Trying to learn. Maybe I don’t recognize my power in these situations.” Weinstein’s legal team denied he’d ever said that, but Chiu and Perkins said they remember the incident clearly. “Harvey said 22 years ago he did not know when things were consensual,” Perkins told the newspaper, with Chiu adding: “We looked at each other and said, ‘Did you hear what he said?’”<TDB
LOL, if he is so innocent then while not get the trial over and prove it, oh right he is GUILTY.
Another reason trump has to win next election is he has no money, he has to mooch off the taxpayers to support his and all his family members lifestyle.
How about delay both trials until Feb 1, 2021 so he can be indicted and convicted free and clear. He won’t have the presidency to hide behind.
