Trump attacks Washington Post over story about opposition research aides provided concerning “The Squad.”

By |2019-07-22T08:18:44-08:00July 22nd, 2019|Categories: News|Tags: , , , , , |28 Comments

Here is the story that Trump is referencing courtesy of WaPo:

As is often the case, Trump acted alone — impulsively following his gut to the dark side of American politics, and now the country would have to pick up the pieces. The day before, on the golf course, he hadn’t brought it up. Over the coming days, dozens of friends, advisers and political allies would work behind the scenes to try to fix the mess without any public admission of error because that was not the Trump way.

“He realized that part of it was not playing well,” said Sen. Lindsey O. Graham (R-S.C.), a Trump confidant, who golfed Saturday with the president and spoke to him about it on Monday. “Well, he always doubles down. Then he adjusts.”

Like others, Graham urged Trump to reframe away from the racist notion at the core of the tweets — that only European immigrants or their descendants are entitled to criticize the country. Advisers wrote new talking points and handed him reams of opposition research on the four congresswomen. Pivot to patriotism. Focus on their ideas and behavior, not identity. Some would still see a racist agenda, the argument went, but at least it would not be so explicit.

Funny that the part of this story which seemed to really bother Trump was not that he went off half-cocked and made racist remarks, but that he would ever bother to read anything provided to him by staffers.

So you guys who have been following coverage of Trump for some time know what I am about to share now, right?

I mean it’s almost obvious.

That’s right photographic evidence of those same talking points that he just denied receiving.

You know, sometimes it’s almost TOO easy.

    When will this nightmare end?

    • Paul July 22, 2019 at 5:39 pm

I’ve asked that exact same question not only on this site but also directly to many people. We know that the republican run senate will never convict trump if the house impeaches him, so unless he dies in office or gets even more significantly mentally incapacitated than he already is, he will be president at least until noon on January 20, 2021. However, with Russian interference in our elections, there currently appears to be a 50/50 chance that trump will win re-election. So our nightmare will continue, and might never end.

At least two out of the four will not be serving next term. AOC is done. She is a 15 year old in need of attention (You would do yourself a favor by recognizing that now rather than after 2020). But really it wouldn’t be surprising if all four are gone.

Do the Democratic Party a favor and call out the morons now. Show some spine. (unlike Al Franken, that spineless idiot that now regrets not having any balls).

The GOP and Trump are putting Pelosi and all the conservative Democrats in red states…. of which there are A LOT OF… on notice with the bizarre millennial self serving far left. They are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Pelosi gets it but she can’t do much about it either. Wake up Gryphen.

      The ignorant compete.

      The wise cooperate. With nature.

Stop shopping and fucking. That is what nature is trying to tell us.

Agreed. Folks like Puck (below), are part of the problem.

The far left my way or the highway? Not gonna work in 2020 folks.

Blue collar will rule the vote again.

Out of curiosity, how many blue collar voters, Democrat or Republican who spent every penny they had sending their kids thru college, are going to be happy with free tuition promised by Warren and the rest, at their expense after they have just shelled out 80 grand+ for their kids? Seriously, take off the blinders, there is no free lunch.

IT~$ instructive to look at the handshakes of both. The handshake as a form of greeting went well back before the foundation of Rome.” “At his first public meeting as president with Russia’s president Vladimir Putin at the 2017 G20 summit in Germany, Trump offered his hand first, palm up, yielding the upper hand to Putin. He did the same when meeting France’s president Emanuel Macron that same year. In contrast, Trump offered female leaders Germany’s chancellor Angela Merkel and Britain’s prime minister Theresa May a straight up and down handshake.” Retreat!? “Mike Pompeo said in January, “When America retreats, chaos often follows.”

STEPHEN DANDO-COLLINS is an historian and noted authority on the military of ancient Rome; his 42nd book,
CALIGULA, The Mad Emperor of Rome, will be published by Turner Publishing on July 30.

“It was brutal,” Bannon remembered. “Every day was a knife fight.”

Eventually, Fox News host Bill Hemmer cut into the speech to interview Karl Rove.”

“When Trump’s luck runs out, as it inevitably will, so too will America’s,” he writes. “Presumably, Trump is banking on the hope that the damage from his diplomatic gambles will be felt only after he either is reelected or leaves office.”

Klaas concludes by linking Trump’s approach to governing with the way that he ran multiple failed casinos into the ground.

“If that’s the case, Trump will have taken his business strategy to the White House — gamble, risk it all, and when you lose, walk away or stick someone else with the bill,” he writes. “But this time, it won’t be contractors and construction companies who have to deal with the losses. It’ll be us.”

“Yale psychiatrist Dr. Bandy X. Lee about why the president can’t stop himself from attacking the young women. Lee is a forensic psychiatrist and an expert on violence at Yale School of Medicine.” “No matter how we may say we already know the president is dangerous, we will lack the appreciation of just how dangerous.”

“Trump’s patterns indicate that when he says others are “hate-filled extremists who are constantly trying to tear our country down,” he actually means, “I am a hate-filled extremist constantly trying to tear this country down.” When he says, “Presidential harassment!” he is describing harassment that the president metes out. And his statement, “Their comments are helping fuel the rise of a dangerous, militant hard left,” is an admission that his comments are doing this of the militant hard right. The reason why the attribution is uncannily correct is because the mind is not random: the unconscious mind knows exactly what one is doing, even as the conscious mind denies it.” “Our online town hall will happen at 5 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, July 23, 2019. “Trump assembled a broad white coalition that ran the gamut from Joe the Dishwasher to Joe the Plumber to Joe the Banker. So when white pundits cast the elevation of Trump as the handiwork of an inscrutable white working class, they are being too modest, declining to claim credit for their own economic class. Trump’s dominance among whites across class lines is of a piece with his larger dominance across nearly every white demographic.”

Some Republican group in Michigan or thereabouts put a mock movie poster on their Facebook page with the four photoshopped in and Jihad Squad. It’s since been taken down but I haven’t read of any firings or even apologies from the perpetrators.

And some cops in Louisiana were fired for posting about shooting AOC. Trump’s AmeriKKKa. He has destroyed this country and Mitch McConnell aided and abetted. I want to see Mitch primaried and I want him out, by a Democrat or Republican. At this point I don’t care.
