A trio of top psychiatrists have sent an urgent letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee claiming that President Trump is showing ‘signs of delusion’ amid the impeachment inquiry.
Yale Medical School Professor Dr Bandy Lee, George Washington University Professor Dr John Zinner, and former CIA profiler Dr Jerrold Post penned the letter, which is accompanied by a petition signed by more than 350 mental health professionals who endorse their claims.
‘We are speaking out at this time because we are convinced that, as the time of possible impeachment approaches, Donald Trump has the real potential to become ever more dangerous, a threat to the safety of our nation,’ the letter reads, according to an excerpt obtained by Yahoo.
The letter warns that ‘failing to monitor or to understand the psychological aspects [of impeachment on Mr Trump], or discounting them, could lead to catastrophic outcomes.’
‘We and many others are available to give important relevant recommendations as well as to educate the public so that we can maximize our collective safety.’
The trio did not elaborate on the specific threats to public safety that they believe Trump poses.
Meanwhile, the three say they are willing to testify on Trump’s mental state during the impeachment inquiry, despite never having met the Commander-in-chief.
My initial response to this was “No shit Sherlock!”
But then I realized that perhaps not everybody worked in the mental health community and had witnessed a mental health breakdown in progress before.
As I have mentioned numerous times on this website, Donald Trump is clearly having a mental breakdown, and we are watching it unfold in real time on Twitter, during interviews, and while speaking to his adoring fans in those Nazi like rallies of his.
In my opinion there is no denying that it is happening, and I think that having these experts testify to that reality to the House Judiciary Committee would be very enlightening.
And there is no denying that it would make for some captivating TV viewing.
