Top Democratic candidates team up for gun safety ad.

This really touched me.

Courtesy of WaPo:

As Congress returned Monday from recess, a leading anti-gun-violence group released the first in planned videos featuring multiple Democratic presidential candidates calling for action in the wake of mass shootings.

Eight candidates appear in the first video from Giffords, the organization founded by former congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.), with each speaking no more than a sentence or two before another candidate picks up the script.

The Democratic candidates participating were, in order of appearance, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (Mass.); former congressman Beto O’Rourke (Tex.); South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg; Sen. Cory Booker (N.J.); Sen. Kamala D. Harris (Calif.); Sen. Amy Klobuchar (Minn.); Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.); and former vice president Joe Biden.

I have to say that seeing these candidates coming together to make this ad really makes me proud to be a Democrat.

And good for Gabby Giffords in getting them together.

I have my favorites of course but you could close your eyes and point to any random face in that video to find a leader far more competent than the one currently bringing the property values down over at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

What is their plan on cleaning up gun problems in the large Democratic controlled cities where a vast majority of gun crimes occur?

Are they going to make an ad for Chicago and Baltimore and LA and Milwaukee and St Louis and New Orleans, and all the other inner cities where gun deaths are a daily routine (and the weekends in those places, fuggetabout it)?

More stringent gun control laws will help to control gun violence everywhere.

Nobody denies that there is gun violence in big cities.

This is not a rural vs urban problem, this is a problem everywhere in the country.

It is ignorance of understanding. Not “a problem everywhere in the country”.

If there is a plan to disarm all the felons and gang members, and criminals that shouldn’t even have guns in the first place (perhaps there is a summer deer tag for 9mil and 22lr on the SW communities of Chicago, dunno), then let the politicians speak of guns laws that affect legal owners that own for protection, sport, hunting, collector, or whatever. There is a conversation that the Democrats refuse to have, and it has been decades in the making.

The gun problem is an ignorance problem. None of these people are dealing with the problem.

Marianne Williamson is the only one speaking about the Real Causes of the issues.
