I toldja so!
Courtesy of NBC News:
Todd Palin has filed for divorce from Sarah Palin, the former governor of Alaska and GOP vice presidential candidate, citing “incompatibility of temperament” and that “they find it impossible to live together as husband and wife.”
Todd Palin, 55, asked to dissolve the couple’s 31-year marriage in a filing submitted Friday in Anchorage Superior Court. The paperwork was submitted on Aug. 29, eight days after the couple’s anniversary.
The filing, first reported by the Anchorage Daily News, only uses initials but details the couple’s marriage date and the birth date of their 11-year-old son, Trig, and asks for an equal separation of assets and debts.
So I guess I was about ten years too early when I posted that Todd and Sarah were headed for divorce. (Link)
Trust me that was when their marriage ended, this is just them making it official.
According to every source I have they have not shared a bed in over a decade, and don’t even bother making public appearances together anymore.
I also find it highly ironic that Todd is using Kimberlee Colbo, who was Dakota Meyer’s attorney when he fought Bristol for custody of his child, to represent him.
I actually have no idea what Todd will do now since Sarah has been his sugar mama for almost a decade and a half now.
Stay tuned folks if we know the Palins this is about to get really ugly.
Update: Splitsville got an vague mention over at the Daily Mail:
Her marriage to Todd has been dogged by unsubstantiated divorce rumors for at least a decade.
In 2009 People reported about ‘extramarital affairs on both sides and an impending divorce’, but that story was swiftly denounced by the Palin camp.
‘No truth to any of the rumors. No divorce. No affairs. No land in Montana. Nothing! All lies and fabrications!’ a spokesperson for Palin said at the time.
Sarah appeared to respond to the rumors on her Facebook page, writing: ‘Yet again, some so-called journalists have decided to make up a story.’
Those “divorce rumors” were actually substantiated by a number of sources in blog posts, news articles, and even books.
I may have been the first but there was plenty of evidence revealed to back me up as time went on.
I was told by a trusted source that they literally stayed together out of spite because they did not want the so-called “haters” proven right about their marriage.
