Here goes Trump helping to sell yet another book.

The Trump administration sued the former national security adviser John R. Bolton on Tuesday to try to delay publication of his highly anticipated memoir about his time in the White House, saying the book contained classified information that would compromise national security if it became public.
The book, “The Room Where It Happened,” is set for release on June 23. Administration officials have repeatedly warned Mr. Bolton against publishing it.
Mr. Bolton made clear in a statement this week that his book contained explosive details about his time at the White House. He and Mr. Trump clashed on significant policy issues like Iran, North Korea and Afghanistan, and in his book, Mr. Bolton also confirmed accusations at the heart of the Democratic impeachment case over the president’s dealings with Ukraine, according to details from his manuscript previously reported by The New York Times.
The Justice Department accused him of short-circuiting a government review that he had agreed to participate in for any eventual manuscript before even accepting the post in 2018.
Mr. Bolton is breaking that agreement, “unilaterally deciding that the prepublication review process is complete and deciding for himself whether classified information should be made public,” department lawyers wrote in a breach of contract lawsuit against Mr. Bolton filed in federal court in Washington.
If you are wondering what Bolton included in the book that is scaring Trump, well quite a lot actually.

The book portrays Trump’s White House as singularly obsessed with securing Trump’s reelection over all other priorities, and engaging in a wide variety of improper international deal-making with multiple foreign countries, according to the publisher’s description.
Trump was impeached by the House of Representatives in December for pressuring Ukraine to investigate his 2020 Democratic rival, former Vice President Joe Biden. Bolton’s book casts Trump’s antics with Ukraine as just the tip of the iceberg.
Interestingly enough Bolton’s publisher was not named in the lawsuit, and since the book is now in their hands Bolton could not stop its publication even if he wanted to.
Trump is also considering taking legal action to stop the publication of his niece’s book as well.

According to two people familiar with the situation, Donald Trump has told people close to him that he’s getting his lawyers to look into the Mary Trump matter, to explore what could be done in the way of legal retribution—or at least a threat—likely in the form of a cease and desist letter. One of the sources with knowledge of the situation said that in the past couple of days, the president appeared irked by news of her book and at one point mentioned that Mary had signed an NDA years ago.
Mary Trump signed an NDA following a 2001 settlement after litigation disputing Fred Trump’s estate, according to people familiar with the matter. That NDA states she is not allowed to publish anything regarding the litigation or her relationship with Donald, Maryanne and Robert.
You know typically the rats simply abandon the sinking ship, but in Trump’s case, they then turn around and write scathing books about what a terrible ship it was in the first place.
On a personal note, I think I might buy the Mary Trump book, but I will not financially support John Bolton.
He is a traitor to his country and by refusing to testify during Trump’s impeachment trial lost the right to then profit off of his silence by then writing a book.
