The House Judiciary Committee issues huge list of document requests, from just about everybody associated with the Trump White House.

The House Judiciary Committee on Monday launched a large-scale investigation into alleged abuses of power by President Donald Trump, sending requests for documents to 81 individuals and entities, including the president’s sons.

The probe will focus on three main topics: alleged obstruction of justice by Trump and others and the “alleged cover-up of violations of the law”; alleged corruption in areas including violations of the Constitution’s emoluments clause “and other criminal misuses of official positions for personal gain”; and alleged abuses of power, such as attacking the press and misusing the presidential pardon power.

“Over the last several years, President Trump has evaded accountability for his near-daily attacks on our basic legal, ethical, and constitutional rules and norms,” House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., said in a press release.

“Investigating these threats to the rule of law is an obligation of Congress and a core function of the House Judiciary Committee,” said Nadler, whose committee is in charge of passing articles of impeachment in the House.

Nadler had said on ABC News’ “This Week” a day earlier that he believes Trump has “very clearly” obstructed justice.

Yeah, he has, over and over again.

If you take a look at that list included in the tweet up above you will find that it is very comprehensive, and a little surprising.

For instance, it has all of the bit players you would expect like Rober Stone, Junior, Eric, Corey Lewandowski Carter Page, Jared Kushner, etc..

But it also contains a few names that you might not have been expecting, such as the NRA, Rob Goldstone, Wikileaks, Cambridge Analytica, the Justice Department, Hope Hicks, and virtually everything with Trump’s name on it, like Trump Organization, Trump Foundation, Trump Campaign, and Trump Transition.

Now I would assume that a whole lot of these people and organizations are going to refuse to comply with this request, which of course will inspire a cavalcade of subpoenas.

I also expect that a whole lot of these folks are going to hide behind executive privilege, but if even half of them talk openly about Trump, his campaign, his business, and his White House, he is fucked.

P.S. By the way, according to the House Democrats this is only round one.

“This is a very dangerous situation. We don’t have conclusive proof that the president is a Russian mole, but he’s certainly acting like it. And the Congress needs to investigate and find out exactly what was said to Vladimir Putin and look at the rest of this Russia connection. Remember, Robert Mueller is only responsible for alleged criminal activities in connection with the Russia investigation. There’s a lot more going on here that can be very, very dangerous for our national security and this president’s relationship with Vladimir Putin is very strange, indeed.””
