What are the odds that Trump will slip and do the Nazi salute?

President Donald Trump’s July Fourth celebration on the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC, will include a ticketed area in front of the Lincoln Memorial where he’ll deliver remarks.

The perimeter of the restricted area will be “immediately around the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, and about midway down through the Reflecting Pool,” said Matthew Miller, special agent in charge of the US Secret Service Washington Field Office, in a news conference Friday with local and federal officials on the July Fourth celebrations in the nation’s capital.

The White House confirmed to CNN on Saturday that there will be a ticketed area for VIPs, friends, family and members of the military.

Those tickets come at no cost, but the White House did not say how it would specifically be allocated. The White House added that the entire event is free for the general public with no ticket requirement.

Miller said the Secret Service will provide security for Trump’s “Salute to America” event, but that the White House is issuing the tickets.

Tanks, tickets, and Trump.

Not what ANYBODY wants to see on America’s Independence Day.

So Trump will have all of his closest supporters sitting right in front of him as he hijacks our national holiday, and I imagine that most of them will be donors who will then throw money at his campaign in exchange for those front row seats.

However, they may still not see any tanks.

Do you know who else is really unhappy about all of this?

National Park people, that’s who.

“It’s irresponsible to ask the National Park Service to absorb the costs of an additional and political event when there are so many unmet needs in the parks,” Phil Francis, chair of the Coalition to Protect America’s National Parks, which represents current, former and retired Park Service employees and volunteers, said in a statement to The Washington Post.

“The men and women of the National Park Service have been asked to do more with less for too long,” he continued. “Funds should be directed to the agency’s highest needs such as operation of the parks and the maintenance backlog and should not be directed to support political objectives.”

Although the total cost of the Independence Day event is not yet known, it comes at a time when the National Park Service faces a backlog of some $11 billion in maintenance. The Trump administration has also repeatedly called for cutting the National Park Service’s budget, while also moving to eliminate key environmental protections for the lands set aside for conservation.

Trying to take money from the military to pay for his border wall, allocating National Park funds for this political rally, it’s like Trump thinks the Federal Budget is just a giant piggy bank for him to raid whenever he chooses.

Update: Damn! He is bringing them in anyway.

Nothing stops a dictator I guess.

Except for impeachment of course.
