Well, here we go again.

My feeling is that a lot of the questions posed tonight will be focused on what is happening right now in the Congress with all of these impeachment hearings.

I also expect to see people trying to rattle Elizabeth Warren on her health care for all policy, somoe focus on Pete Buttigieg in response to his rising poll numbers, and for some folks to ask Joe Biden how in the hell he still considers pot a “gateway drug?”

Here is the lineup for tonight:

  • Former Vice President Joe Biden
  • New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker
  • South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg
  • Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard
  • California Sen. Kamala Harris
  • Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar
  • Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders
  • Businessman Tom Steyer
  • Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren
  • Businessman Andrew Yang

Those who are still considered candidates but will not be on the debate stage tonight include:

  • Former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Castro
  • Colorado Sen. Michael Bennet
  • Montana Gov. Steve Bullock
  • Former Maryland Rep. John Delaney
  • Author Marianne Williamson
  • Former Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick
  • Former Pennsylvania Rep. Joe Sestak

I am really not sure why these seven people even bother anymore.

As usual I will update this post as new information becomes available.

This is the fifth one of these so I suggest that you drink as it takes to make it seem entertaining.

I know I will.

Update: I love everything about this.

Klobachur is not my go-to candidate, but she definitely hit this one out of the park.

Update 2: Kamala Harris went in hard on Tulsi Gabbard.

That may be my favorite moment of the debate thus far.

Update 3: Cory Booker takes his shot at Joe Biden.

I have to say that I was not terribly impressed with Uncle Joe tonight.

He made a number of unforced errors that are now gooing to haunt him on the campaign trail.

Can I just drink and not watch?

    Tulsi Gabbard. SNORT..
    I’ll pass………

Loved it when Kamala Harris went after Tulsi Gabbard.

However, having this many candidates is simply ridiculous. They need to cut half at least.

Honestly, I think this is why the neeners say that, no matter impeachment hearings, four more years.
There is no one strong candidate that anyone can agree on less than a year away.

There is no one strong candidate that anyone can agree on less than a year away.
Or there are TOO MANY STRONG CANDIDATES to choose from.

We don’t need a year to decide, heck most countries elections are done in months, only the USA begins campaigning the day after the inauguration or as trump did, the day of the inauguration.

As I have said before, watch the money.
Tulsi was NOTHING and now here she is.
How long did that take? Thank you, Russia.

I will take any one of the candidates on the stage or off, except for TG gal, over the corrupt pathological liar currently in the WH. Strong and principled people! Let’s stand strong together.

When the candidates were asked the opening question about how the impeachment hearing would be central to their campaign I wanted them to use that has an opportunity to detail the lessons of what not to do as president. I want to hear them present a case for ethics, principals, respectful communication, anti bullying, respect of law and the constitution, facts and truth matter, decorum, gravitas, and no secret agendas in opposition or handicapping officials from effectively performing their jobs that undermines them then diminish them for upholding principled conduct and honesty.

Once again, Trump wins the Democratic debate lol.

I hope whoever it is chooses a running mate from this group and then makes the others cabinet members according to their strengths.

I would like to see a progressive Democrat win the nomination but, this being the United States, I believe it would be a step too far to the left for the majority of voters.

    • Anon November 21, 2019 at 12:28 pm

Wise observation. I think we’ve had enough of going off the deep end. Priority now should be simply putting things back to order and t hen once we’ve righted the ship, move forward. But, my fellow Americans have all got bat shit crazy, so I’m not going to hold my breath.

Biden fumbled again when he said he’s received support from the “only” African American woman elected to the Senate.

“That’s not true … the other one is here,” Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) jumped in while throwing her hands up and laughing.

“I have a lifetime of experience with Black voters; I’ve been one since I was 18,” Booker said to laughter. “Black voters are pissed off and they’re worried. They’re pissed off because the only time our issues seem to really be paid attention to is when people are looking for their vote.”

One issue that disproportionally affects the Black community is the criminalization of marijuana, Booker said.

“This week I hear [Biden] literally say that ‘I don’t think we should legalize marijuana.’ I thought you might’ve been high when you said it. Because marijuana in our country is already legal for privileged people … the war on drugs has been a war on Black and Brown people.”

    PS> Happy Birthday Joe
