The FBI opened an investigation into whether Trump was being controlled by the Russians days after he fired James Comey.

No wonder Trump hates the FBI so much.

Courtesy of NYT:

In the days after President Trump fired James B. Comey as F.B.I. director, law enforcement officials became so concerned by the president’s behavior that they began investigating whether he had been working on behalf of Russia against American interests, according to former law enforcement officials and others familiar with the investigation.

The inquiry carried explosive implications. Counterintelligence investigators had to consider whether the president’s own actions constituted a possible threat to national security. Agents also sought to determine whether Mr. Trump was knowingly working for Russia or had unwittingly fallen under Moscow’s influence.

The investigation the F.B.I. opened into Mr. Trump also had a criminal aspect, which has long been publicly known: whether his firing of Mr. Comey constituted obstruction of justice.

Agents and senior F.B.I. officials had grown suspicious of Mr. Trump’s ties to Russia during the 2016 campaign but held off on opening an investigation into him, the people said, in part because they were uncertain how to proceed with an inquiry of such sensitivity and magnitude. But the president’s activities before and after Mr. Comey’s firing in May 2017, particularly two instances in which Mr. Trump tied the Comey dismissal to the Russia investigation, helped prompt the counterintelligence aspect of the inquiry, the people said.

The special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, took over the inquiry into Mr. Trump when he was appointed, days after F.B.I. officials opened it. That inquiry is part of Mr. Mueller’s broader examination of how Russian operatives interfered in the 2016 election and whether any Trump associates conspired with them.

Apparently, there is some question as to whether this counterintelligence investigation in Trump remains part of the Mueller probe, but to my mind, considering the evidence he has uncovered, it would almost have to be.

This also means that almost immediately after James Comey assured Trump that he was not the subject of an FBI investigation, he suddenly became one.

So with this information now available a lot of things about how Trump has vilified certain FBI agents, and why he has been so angry at Jeff Sessions all this time, make a hell of a lot more sense.

In fact, Trump’s tweets this morning continue to reflect his growing sense of panic concerning the FBI’s investigations.

Oh yeah, he’s panicking.

Keep in mind that after he fired James Comey he invited those two Russian spies to come into the White House where he assured them that he had fired that “nut job” James Comey and that it had “taken off” the pressure over Russia.

Say it with me folks, Donald Trump is guilty, guilty, guilty!

Is the penalty for treason still hanging or firing squad? Normally, I am against capital punishment. If T.Rump is found guilty, my stance would be sorely pressed to reconsider in light of the pure harm with no redeeming features he has done to people, the environment and our democracy.

Because everybody is either fired, quit, or furloughed. And I’m in the White House all alone. By myself. Just me. Alone. Totally not being chaotic on Twitter while screaming red-faced at the TV in rage.
There is no chaos! They’re all wrong, I do have a plan!
    I call it “The Plan.”
It’s a big plan. The best plan. It’s not what you’d call a concrete plan — at the request of the Democrat hahahahaha, that’s a joke, get it? It’s more like a beautiful steel plan. Yes, yes, a plan made of steel. A great plan. My plan is to sit around in the White House by myself, MYSELF, and watch TV all day will tweeting crazy stuff about Robert Mueller and Hillary Clinton! Yes! YES! THAT’ll get those Democrats to give up! You’ll see! Elections have consequences and that’s why Nancy Pelosi is now Speaker of the House and okay that’s a bad example but I think I’ve made my point here and everything is FINE.
It’s fine. We’re all fine here.
It’s all FINE, do you hear me?

It's a remarkable statement given that we are only 11 days into the presidency of Donald Trump. It's also very hard to dispute."
"The combination of chaos, combat and constant sniping is not a bad thing in the worldview of Donald Trump.
In fact, it is the one truly necessary thing."

I don’t understand why the President is so upset. Doesn’t he always tell us the NY Times is fake news and only print lies? Is the NY Times failing because no one reads it anymore?

“This is the kind of speech you give in Spanish in the early 1950s into a tinny microphone with the crackle and static of a fading kerosene generator and the sound of shouting and gunfire in the background approaching the presidential palace.

Friedman called Trump a president with “formal authority but no moral authority.” The “biggest crisis right now is in the Oval Office,””

….I do have a plan on the Shutdown. But to understand that plan you would have to understand the fact that I won the election, and I promised safety and security for the American people. Part of that promise was a Wall at the Southern Border. Elections have consequences!

So he brags to them in, you know, in the face of America.” “Trump’s truest loyalty belongs to Ru$$ia.” “this president has been a dream for Vladimir Putin – so much so that even his own intelligence community, with the help of American allies, is building a case against him.”

If only mitch werent in on it too then wed stop having abstruction of justice. No one in their right mind really believes you donald so stop throwing these blanket statements around and saying everyone including the republicans and democrats. History wont lie when the time comes and no matter how covert putin think hes being and no matter how many lies trump tells the truth will one day speak for itself. History has allows shown that the truth will come out no maater how much bullshit was piled on to hide the facts.

blah blah blah, same old crap, same old LIES…trump is a traitor.

The only thing I want to know is: who are these 13 angry Democrats he keeps yakking about.. did he watch the movie 13 angry men when he came up with this?

I believe this is the one and only time the FBI has investigated a president for the possibility that he is a foreign agent.

    • JB$ January 12, 2019 at 10:08 am

      12 Angry men + HIM.
‘Judas Iscariot, was the betrayer of Jesus Christ. From the 1890s, a number of English language sources relate the “unlucky” thirteen to an idea that at the Last Supper, Judas, the disciple who betrayed Jesus, was the 13th to sit at the table.’

No wonder Trump has a long-time fear of being poisoned. Russian Intelligence is known for poisoning their spies.

  16. Anonymous January 12, 2019 at 3:34 pm

Notice that he and all the flying monkeys have not denied he is a russian agent, all they have done is attack others. It only takes ONE TWEET to write I am not a russian agent.

Pompeo made me laugh, in a preview of Face the Nation, he stated that he won’t dignify giving an answer to this story, yet there he is sitting on his fat ass, touting the trump line, attacking others, but never says trump is not a russian agent.

  17. Anonymous January 12, 2019 at 9:12 pm

Remember that meeting in Germany where Trump and Putin met with only their interpreters as witnesses? Well, seems Trump ordered the translator to suppress what was said and even took his notes away or something. Can you say TREASON TREASON TREASON! If there was no evidence of CONSPIRACY before, this is the nail in the coffin.

So the FBI had cause but no proof? Well, cause is WHY you do an investibation. In order to find proof. I think this latest revelation only justifies the FBI’s investigation into whether Trump is an agent, willing or witless, of the Russians.

This is the most disgusting, despicable, CRIMINAL administration ever in the history of the United States. The Electoral College didn’t do it’s job. The Republicans didn’t do their jobs in vetting their candidates. The voters didn’t do their due diligence in educating themselves before they voted. This entire 2016 election fiasco and the dysfunctional administration to follow is just a complete and utter shitstorm.

Putin is well versed on how to usurp power. Hes trying it in america. First he gets his puppet then he whispers instructions. Puppet does what he is told. Challenges the status quo. Results. Manipulates the press. Results. Then calls news fake except for faux news. Results. Challenges by name calling in a bullying way. Results. Lies repeatedly. Results. Disembowels the USA. Results. All these results putin used to bring himself to power. He took a chance that the method would work in america and he probably gloats inwardly that with our idiot populace, it worked beyond his dreams.

Seriously, while it FEELS like treason, you have to read section 3 of the constitution.
We have to be in a declared war with a declared enemy for it to meet the definition of treason.
There are any number of OTHER charges this piece of sh*t and his crime syndicate could be
and should be charged with but not that one.
Our gov’t is being disemboweled and pooteen is laughing maniacally.
All this could have been prevented with a simple law requiring tax records to be provided by ALL candidates
in order to appear on the ballot in a primary and especially in a general election.
States that can do so (Dem control) should pass these laws THIS year so this can’t happen in the next election.
