Thanks to government shutdown national parks now feature overflowing toilets and increased graffiti.

If this is not a metaphor for America right now I don’t know what is.

Human feces, overflowing garbage, illegal off-roading and other damaging behavior in fragile areas were beginning to overwhelm some of the West’s iconic national parks on Monday, as a partial government shutdown left the areas open to visitors but with little staff on duty.

“It’s a free-for-all,” Dakota Snider, 24, who lives and works in Yosemite Valley, said by telephone Monday, as Yosemite National Park officials announced closings of some minimally supervised campgrounds and public areas within the park that are overwhelmed.

“It’s so heartbreaking. There is more trash and human waste and disregard for the rules then I’ve seen in my four years living here,” Snider said.

The 10th day of the partial federal government shutdown, which has forced furloughs of hundreds of thousands of federal government employees, has left many parks without most of the rangers and others who staff campgrounds and otherwise keep parks running.

Unlike shutdowns in some previous administrations, the Trump administration was leaving parks open to visitors despite the staff furloughs, said John Garder, senior budget director of the nonprofit National Parks Conservation Association.

“We’re afraid that we’re going to start seeing significant damage to the natural resources in parks and potentially to historic and other cultural artifacts,” Garder said. “We’re concerned there’ll be impacts to visitors’ safety.”

“It’s really a nightmare scenario,” Garder said.

Great, now when people travel to America to see our great country they will be confronted with mounds of putrid feces and incomprehensible messages.

Hell, they might as well skip the parks and head directly to Washington DC.

What about illegal poaching of the wildlife? Will any of them survive the 2nd amendment,” we will blast away all the wildlife” gang?

Oh and I forgot, how about those so called sovereign nations folks that think they own the land and might try and occupy it while the national park folks are on furlough.

    It’s ‘Murrica yall!

Now we are back to the good old days days when you can pinch a loaf right in the river- and it’s all good as long as you do it downstream of YOUR campsite!

Like they always said- DILUTION IS THE SOLUTION TO POLLUTION- even if they’ve been pumping the river down until it’s a trickle!

Where is Sarah Palin in all this? Remember the first time the GOP staged a shutdown while President Obama was in office? She got all distraught because national parks, museums, etc. were going to be closed to the public. President Obama kept them open and manned so that the public could continue to enjoy our important shared heritage locations while the GOP had its tantrum.

Trump doesn’t care at all. In fact, he’d like to sell off the parks to the energy folks, allow total decimation of the forests and animal populations. He, like other billionaires, do not understand that all Americans have a right to share in the immense beauty of this country. It should not be reserved only for the rich.

So I’m really concerned about Sarah’s silence. Is she too busy with her kids’ and grandkids’ behavioral issues? Doesn’t she care about our parks? Or is she hoping to replace Zinke? Would she ride into office on her first day on a snowmobile whether there was snow on the ground or not? I doubt if she’d ride a horse.

Her dot com is run and posts made by some character, same as her Facebook page. Maybe she’s really moving to AZ, or the TMoG crap too embarrassing? I don’t much care, as Lord knows we her opinion on anything the juvenile that “she” is. No one pays attention to her anymore, no one asked her to stump for them midterms (hah), but she’s encouraging all this within her circle of dumbasses. You can take that to the bank.

What is it about the human condition that allows people to think it’s okay to “leave their mark” graffiti and not just enjoy it??
I have never been anywhere where I felt the need, and I was taught to take my litter with me when I go.
