Text messages reveal Brett Kavanaugh knew about claims made by Deborah Ramirez earlier than admitted under oath, and tried to refute them before they became public.

Okay, exactly how many times did this guy lie under oath?

Courtesy of NYT:

In the days leading up to a public allegation that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh exposed himself to a college classmate, the judge and his team were communicating behind the scenes with friends to refute the claim, according to text messages obtained by NBC News.

Kerry Berchem, who was at Yale with both Kavanaugh and his accuser, Deborah Ramirez, has tried to get those messages to the FBI for its newly reopened investigation into the matter but says she has yet to be contacted by the bureau.

The texts between Berchem and Karen Yarasavage, both friends of Kavanaugh, suggest that the nominee was personally talking with former classmates about Ramirez’s story in advance of the New Yorker article that made her allegation public. In one message, Yarasavage said Kavanaugh asked her to go on the record in his defense. Two other messages show communication between Kavanaugh’s team and former classmates in advance of the story.

In a previously undisclosed interview with just the Republicans on the Judiciary Committee Kavanaugh suggested that it was Ramirez who was calling around and trying to influence potential witnesses:

“Strikes me as, you know, what is going on here? When someone is calling around to try to refresh other people? Is that what’s going on? What’s going on with that? That doesn’t sound — that doesn’t sound — good to me. It doesn’t sound fair. It doesn’t sound proper. It sounds like an orchestrated hit to take me out.”

These texts also reveal that, despite the claims by the Republicans, a close friend to Ramirez never said that the incident never happened, but only that she herself did not witness the event.

Apparently, none of this would have come out if mutual friends of Kavanaugh and Ramirez had not pushed the issue and contacted the FBI as well as the media.

Another tidbit contained in these texts is an observation made by yet another friend:

According to the information Berchem provided, Ramirez tried to avoid Kavanaugh at that wedding of their two friends, Yarasavage and Kevin Genda.

Ramirez, “clung to me” at the wedding, Berchem wrote to Yarasavage in a Sept. 24th text message. “She never went near them,” a reference to Kavanaugh and his friends. Even in the group photo, Berchem wrote, Ramirez was trying to keep away from Kavanaugh.

Oh yeah, this guy would make a really good Supreme Court Justice.

That’s sarcasm just in case you did not pick up on it.

Can you say “witness tampering”?? This fuckin’ booze-can liar should be disqualified right now!! He should be removed from his current seat on the bench, as he has proven to be a habitual liar. His previous judgments should be reviewed for potential bias; however, his repiglican toadies will cover for him, just as they do for their “master”…

      Obstruction of justice !!!

I am sure if they looked into his phone records little brett has been very busy.

And why would he think of Ramirez, a girl he claims he hardly knew, get “their story straight” before the story came out. Was she on his calendar?

so basically during his testimony he projected his bad deeds on to her, gosh if brett doesn’t get confirmed I am sure there is an opening in the WH with the other predators and liars.

Just add it his already committed perjury, both of which are impeachable offenses. And Nancy Pelosi says if the Democrats win back the House they won’t impeach Kavanaughty. Well, fuck her. We need some Democrats with backbone. Get rid of her and Schumer. Feinstein and Reid need to go too. We need young leaders with some fire and a spine.

““I thought it was just part of the whole, of his, very defensive and unconvincing presentation,” Clinton responded.
“I told someone later, ‘Boy, they give us a lot of credit. 36 years ago we started this against him,” Clinton said, sarcastically.

The host interviewing Clinton at The Atlantic Festival added, “Back at Yale.”

“Yeah, well, even before, back in high school, apparently,” she mocked.”

Yes, that is what I also thought, the clintons would have had to go back and track down Dr. Ford, a woman that went to a different school or some other woman that knew brett.

I am curious when his hatred of Hillary and the Clintons began and why.

? “Then, John Bates who was seated behind me leaned forward and passed a note to Brett Kavanaugh, from which Kavanaugh read the following questions,

He said, “Mr. Knowlton did the man in the park talk to you?” And I replied, “no.”

He asked me, “Did the man in the park pass you a note?” And I replied, “no.”

He said, “Did the man approach you?” And I replied, “no.”
“Did the man in the park point a gun at you?” I replied, “no.”

And lastly Kavanaugh asked me, “Did the man in the park touch your genitals?”

I looked at him and I was in shock. I was dumbfounded. I couldn’t believe he asked me such a question. Of course, I replied, “no.”

“as soon as I saw my attorney, John Clarke, I repeated verbatim the last questions I was asked. Now we know those questions, were designed by John Bates and Brett Kavanaugh. They wanted to discredit me, and my testimony.”

Excerpt from typed message from Deputy Independent Counsel Hickman Ewing where Brett Kavanaugh admitted, “I did ask him about sexual advances by the other man in the park.” Brett said, “I am worried about that.” “When Miguel Rodriguez learned that Kavanaugh asked Knowlton about genitals he said, “How could Brett stoop that low. I can’t believe Brett did that…What they are trying to do is discredit [Knowlton] by making him out to be a homosexual cruising at a park. The reality is we had this fight a year ago, and I was literally irate with Tuohey and the FBI agents who were snickering and laughing with Brett about this.”

“Christopher Ruddy protected Brett Kavanaugh and assured him that he would not report that Kavanaugh tried to discredit Knowlton by asking if the man in touched his genitals?

Later Ruddy would recommend to President Donald Trump that he should choose Brett Kavanaugh to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court.”
“Kavanaugh knew that Knowton insisted that he did not see Foster’s car and that he saw an older car of a different color.
“Reed Irvine told Kavanaugh that his report was “intellectually dishonest.”

Miguel Rodriguez told Reed Irvine about Brett Kavanaugh and “the young aspiring people who I used to work with back in that office – who will, will say and do what they have to, to move up the ladder.””

“As ThinkProgress detailed on Monday, during last week’s testimony about Dr. Christine Blasey Ford’s accusation that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her in college, the judge appeared to lie about numerous things. Kavanaugh did not tell the truth about his connections to Yale University, the statements that acquaintances have made regarding their recollections of the night the alleged assault occurred, his social circle in high school, and his drinking habits.

While the FBI has agreed to investigate the allegations against Kavanaugh before a floor vote on his nomination, NBC reports that Berchem’s efforts to convey information about the text messages to the bureau haven’t been successful.”

I am sure if someone really looked into this, a part from all the guys that brett has protecting him, that it was a well known fact around that he was a drunk and predator.

Gosh did brett save his letters also?
NY Times obtained 1983 Brett Kavanaugh letter to his friends: ‘We’re loud, obnoxious drunks with prolific pukers among us’

The New York Times released a report revealing a 1983 letter that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh wrote to his friends.

The letter was written before Kavanaugh and friends went to Beach Week. The letter states: “We’re loud, obnoxious drunks with prolific pukers among us.”

The second paragraph of the letter explains the components of the lease for a house they were renting.

“Our problem down there might be too many people. We’re going to have to decide while we are there who we want and don’t want. Possibilities for stays of a few days or more are [censored], Feeley, [censored], etc. If half of Gonzagga/St. Johns starts coming, we might have to give the boot or else we might get it ourselves.”

The letter goes on to say that if any girls want to spend the night, it goes without saying that they’d be “welcomed with open …. Anyway.”

“I think we’re all set. Remember that th eight of us are in charge — we get beds and we kick people out — no one else. The danger of eviction is great and that would suck because of the money and because this week has big potential. (Interpret as wish.) I’m leaving for Ireland on Wed – the 8th so someone has to volunteer by then to be in charge of money and signing lease. (It will still be in my name.”

Kavanaugh signed it “FFFFF, Bart,” the name used in the Mark Judge book.

But it’s a postscript that got the most attention.

“P.S. It would probably be a good idea on Sat. the 18th to warn the neighbors that we’re loud, obnoxious drunks with prolific pukers among us. Advise them to go about 30 miles if…”

    The letter cuts off there.

    This story is still developing.

He and his lawyers were also texting all of his friends prior to those FBI interviews.

Mitch McConnell says he’s not going to make the FBI report public.Gee, it’s almost like he knows what it will reveal and doesn’t give a shit; he’s going to ram this confirmation through no matter what.

What next? Are the Republicans going to put out a hit on Ginsberg?

Isn’t there some movie in which the entire scotus dies?

  12. Anonymous October 2, 2018 at 6:43 pm

Trump likes to say crazy shit to impress upon the small minds of his followers. Like “I’m sure they are just laughing like hell.” etc. He knows how to use his big words to spell it out for them. As for saying it’s scary times for young men, I should hope so. Especially young 17 year old boys who assault girls. It’s still happening and Donald sounds like he knows it’s happening and he’s with them on sexual assault. Typical Trumpian behavior. Protect those that prey.
