Boy those guns are really keeping our children safe.

Courtesy of WBRC:

A substitute teacher’s gun accidentally went off in a first-grade classroom at Blountsville Elementary on Friday afternoon.

The incident happened between 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. Friday.

Blount County Sheriff Mark Moon says 74-year-old Henry Rex Weaver of Blountsville was taken off campus and into custody.

Authorities say Weaver unlawfully carried a concealed, small caliber firearm into the classroom. The firearm discharged while in his pocket.

Fortunately, none of the children were hit but one juvenile did receive very minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

As for Mr. Weaver, he was not supposed to have a gun on school property so he has been charged with possession of a deadly weapon on school grounds, aggravated assault, and reckless endangerment.

And THAT is the appropriate response.

Now I guess if this had been one of those schools that allowed teachers to walk around armed, this would have been viewed as an unfortunate accident and Mr. Weaver would have only received a stern talking to and then been back in the classroom the next day.

Once again, guns do not keep us safe, they place everybody in danger.

Proposed Oregon State Senate Bill 502 requiring gun registration and limiting ammunition purchases drew 2000 to Salem yesterday. Of course they were chanting “USA! USA! USA!” in video, which is why I am not posting a link. I have to laugh at these trumpanzees – they register their cars, two year DEQ required emissions test, rules and regs abound numerous subjects, but register weapons? Taking our liberties, dammit, They’re coming for us! Looked at the hubby, “Fox News, Rush, or Lars Larson listener……you decide.” EYE ROLL.

Isn’t 74 a little old for a substitute teacher – at any grade level? I think I can opine on this because i’m 75 and I sure couldn’t handle a classroom full of first graders or any graders for that matter.

In case there’s another Sandy Hook, the wannabe Mister Rogers was prepared.
Because “the shakiest gun in the south” always beats an automatic weapon.

Just like that country western singer who died shooting himself through the eye. Nicest guy ever, bibles at home, work, and in his truck, bringing a loaded weapon to a video shoot. BANG.
Some day we will stop calling these accidents and what they truly are: Utter stupidity.
Laws and background checks all well and good, but no one can save these people from their worst nightmare. Themselves.

“This wouldn’t have happened if The Wall was built”.

    Wait, what, he’s white?

Well then, “Jesus died on the cross for our sins”.

74 year old substitute teacher? Well, there is your first problem.

Now. How old is Trump again?
