First here is a link to the article that described the college admission scandal courtesy of CNN:

The biggest college admissions scam ever prosecuted in the US is a harsh reminder that wealthy families can cheat their way to even greater privilege. And some say this scandal is just the tip of the iceberg.

Federal prosecutors say 50 people took part in a scheme that involved either cheating on standardized tests or bribing college coaches and school officials to accept students as college athletes — even if the student had never played that sport.

Actresses Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman are among the dozens of parents facing federal charges. Others charged include nine coaches at elite schools; two SAT/ACT administrators; an exam proctor; a college administrator; and a CEO who admitted he wanted to help the wealthiest families get their kids into elite colleges.

It was all orchestrated by William Rick Singer, CEO of a college admissions prep company called The Key. Singer pleaded guilty to four charges Tuesday and admitted that everything a prosecutor accused him of “is true.”

“There were essentially two kinds of fraud that Singer was selling,” US Attorney Andrew Lelling said.

“One was to cheat on the SAT or ACT, and the other was to use his connections with Division I coaches and use bribes to get these parents’ kids into school with fake athletic credentials.”

Some parents paid between $15,000 and $75,000 per test to help their children get a better score, prosecutors said.

Singer arranged for a third-party — usually Mark Riddell — to take the test secretly in the students’ place or replace their responses with his own.

So I think we can all agree that this is a terrible thing, right?

I mean this is clearly a case of the wealthy using their money and power to game the system and allow their undeserving brats to take a slot away from a more deserving and hardworking student.

I mean get a load of Lori Loughlin’s daughter:

Some hardworking kid lost their shot at an elite university education for this waste of space?

Now I have to admit that I did not really see this scandal as particularly political. I mean surely both conservatives and liberals hate people who cheat, right?

Not exactly, you see the conservatives have seen this as an excuse to not just attack the people who cheated the system, but the system itself.

The Right Wing blogosphere has spent the last day or so unloading on higher education, Hollywood elites, and Hillary Clinton. (Yeah don’t ask me how her name came up.)

And of course, if there is a scent of blood in the water, guess who has to come slithering out of the woodwork?

So proud of Piper pursuing higher educ the ethical, legal, RIGHT way as she graduates this year – in the midst of revelation of all these “celebrity” kids getting into colleges via bribes, threats, etc., Piper’s desire to be a nurse (to serve others in their time of need!) makes my heart soar. Despite some holding the “Sarah Palin lineage” against her, Pjper will succeed – by the Grace of God my baby girl will survive & thrive the right way‼️

I really wish that Piper was not in this photo because I don’t have anything against the youngest daughter, but she put her front and center so Palin clearly does not care about the backlash.

Now here is the problem with Palin jumping on this particular bandwagon and making the case that her children have earned their success.

No, they have not.

Unless of course, you believe that Track orchestrated a military career that kept him away from the front line, got himself sent to rehab instead of jail, and is paying for his house and living expenses all on his own.

Or perhaps you believe that Bristol got herself on all of those reality shows through her own hard work, or actually graduated from high school with a 3.497 GPA, or that mommy’s money did not pay for her attorney fees while she was fighting Levi for custody of Tripp.

No Palin has greased the wheels for her kids from day one, and that includes rescuing them from their own stupidity over and over again.

She is like these rich parents that she is attacking in almost every single way.

With the possible exception that most of them were much more successful and had much more money to work with than she did, of course.
