Robert Mueller has now taken possession of Paul Manafort’s Trump Tower condo.

I wonder if the Trump family welcomed their new neighbor with a food basket?

Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team on Friday began to seize the Trump Tower condo owned by former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort.

The condo is among the four other listed properties in New York that the special counsel is seeking to seize, according to court documents. Three bank accounts and one life insurance policy are also the target of the forfeiture.

The move comes after Manafort pleaded guilty last month to one count of conspiracy against the U.S. and one count of conspiracy to obstruct justice after trying to tamper with witnesses.

As part of the plea deal, Manafort agreed to forfeit multiple assets, including the condo and bank accounts. Prosecutors said in the court filing that the government would take control and custody on or after Oct. 20 of the Trump Tower condo and a luxury estate in the Hamptons.

Remember that movie “When A Stranger Calls?”

Actress Carol Kane is constantly harassed by phone calls while babysitting and finally, the police trace the number and tell her that the calls are coming from inside the house.

Well, that is probably how the Trumps are going to feel about having Mueller’s investigators occupying space right inside their own building.

Personally, I think it’s awesome.

Just imagine how much time they can save when it comes time to interrogate Don Jr., Eric, and Ivanka.

“Hey, folks we have some questions for you. Be right up in five minutes.”

Peter W. Smith raised at least $100,000 from unidentified donors for a “scholarship fund…for Russian students” as part of an effort to obtain emails stolen by hackers from Hillary Clinton

New details revealed by the Journal on Sunday suggest Smith’s activities were far more extensive than previously known and may very well have involved Russian figures. Smith is said to have collected at least $100,000 from four wealthy donors and gone to great lengths to keep their identities secret, using encrypted email accounts and having his associates communicate with him by using the “Draft” folder in a Gmail account they all shared under the pseudonym “Robert Tyler.”

Hey, maybe Mueller’s team can rent it out to the Secret Service teams – at a discount rate?

In legal terms “taking possession” doesn’t mean that any of the investigators will actually be residing there or using it as office space, it simply means that the property has been seized and will become property of the federal government, to be auctioned off at a later date once the case against Manafort is closed. I find it so ironic that the federal government is now the owner of a property in one of Trump’s buildings.
