Planned Parenthood withdraws from federal funding over new Trump Administration rule on abortion referrals.

The war on women continues.

Courtesy of NYT:

Planned Parenthood said Monday that it would withdraw from the federal family planning program that provides birth control and other health services to poor women rather than comply with a new Trump administration rule that forbids referrals to doctors who can perform abortions.

Planned Parenthood receives about $60 million annually through the federal program, known as Title X. The funds have enabled the group to provide more than 1.5 million low-income women each year with services like birth control and pregnancy tests, as well as screenings for sexually transmitted diseases and breast and cervical cancer. In some rural communities, Planned Parenthood is the only provider of such services.

In states like Utah, where Planned Parenthood is the only organization receiving Title X funds, and Minnesota, where Planned Parenthood serves 90 percent of the Title X patients, those seeking care may face long waits for appointments, the group said, while other patients may delay care or go without. Over all, Planned Parenthood gets more Title X money than any single group, and it serves 40 percent of all Title X patients.

The group’s decision to stop accepting the money was cheered by anti-abortion groups that have long sought to deprive Planned Parenthood of federal support. “It is a long-awaited victory that will energize the pro-life grass roots,” said Jeanne Mancini, president of the March for Life.

You can almost hear the champagne corks a popping among the Evangelicals and conservatives around the world.

The idea that women will be forced to give birth because of a rape, failed contreceptive, or drunken fling is quite literally their wetdream.

To them women were designed to give birth whether they want to or not. Period.

In the meantime this is the worst possible news for low-income women.

But hey, who cares about them anyhow?

Oh yeah, Planned Parenthood cared about them.

I doubled my PP contribution today.

I don’t understand the “logic” of these right wing idiots. White women with money will always be able to get abortions. Minorities, the very people they hate, will have more kids…more votes…more ability to take over the country from the “chosen ones.”

Bristol would never go to Planned Parenthood. You can’t rape the willing.

“White women with money will always be able to get abortions.”

Thanks for displaying your racism for the world to view.

When Roe is overturned by these control freak Republicans they will then probably go full throttle to overturn or at least weaken the Griswold case. Every woman voting for the GOP deserves to lose access to contraception and every man deserves to have to support ten or more kids, as well. Unfortunately the rest of the world who are sane doesn’t deserve this or any of the Republican bullshit policies.

People are going to die because of this bull shit. Low income people will not be able to get STD testing. The same shit happened in Indiana when Pence screwed around with Planned Parenthood and got clinics closed. Sure enough a huge AIDS epidemic happened in the county he screwed over. They had to institute needle programs to stop the spread of the disease. Stupid morons. Watch for huge increases in STD rates in about 6 months or sooner in areas where clinics have to close because there is not enough funding. Donations cannot make up what they lost.
