New Ohio law means that 11 year old made pregnant by her rapist would be forced to give birth to his baby.

That is just inhuman.

An 11-year-old girl in Ohio was allegedly raped by a 26-year-old multiple times, leaving her pregnant, according to police reports. A state law passed in April, but not yet in effect, says that victims like her won’t have a choice to have an abortion — they would have to carry and deliver their rapist’s child.

The law prohibits women from obtaining an abortion after a fetal heartbeat is detected, about five or six weeks into a pregnancy, before most women even know that they’re pregnant.

The law provides no exceptions for rape or incest.

In an email to CBS News, the Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost defended the statute. “Sometimes, the evolution of the law requires bold steps,” Yost wrote. “In the last 46 years, the practice of medicine has changed. Science has changed. Even the point of viability has changed. Only the law has lagged behind.”

When signing the bill, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine focused on the rights of the fetus. “The essential function of government is to protect the most vulnerable among us, those who don’t have a voice,” he said. “Government’s role should be to protect life from the beginning to the end.”

Since when is being an eleven-year-old child considered too old to still need that protection? Is that the end he was talking about?

A child being forced to have a child puts her in one of the most vulnerable positions of all.

And once the state forces her to give birth, are they going to provide free childcare so that she can continue to attend school?

Of course not.

Will the state Republicans vote for policies that make sure this young mother can get a job when she finishes school that ensures her ability to provide for this child?

Absolutely not.

It seems obvious to me that most of these Republican policies care only for the unborn child, and care very little for a child who has already been born.

Even if they are an eleven-year-old rape victim.

No, she’ll be forced to deliver the child and give it up for adoption, permanently scaring her physically and mentally. DeWine and Yost are misogynist asswipes who deserve the most miserable remaining years of their lives imaginable.

“Senator Susan Collins of Maine, a Republican viewed as vulnerable as she seeks re-election next year, told reporters Alabama’s law is “terrible” and “very extreme.” She said she did not think the Supreme Court would uphold it.”<RiiiggghhhttT

in Ohio. What about the vulnerable sick? He is full of shit because as we know—
these asshole republicans don’t give two shits about actual babies or children on the
    planet.

Many have said that the baby Trig that Piper was licking at the ’08 RNC was actually her own son, so that means “Christians” are okay with a six or seven year old getting pregnant? Christians suck.

Many morons might have said that but nobody with an ounce of intelligence.

    Only it’s not a HEARTbeat. It’s a pulse.

Science says that there is no HEART until about week 21, when there are four chambers and enough muscle to beat outside of the womb if the baby is born.

So it’s NOT A HEART BEAT.
