“I think part of it is his own insecurity as an imposter. I think he knows full well that he’s in that office way over his head and so he has to diminish everyone else.”

Man, Pelosi really has Trump’s number, doesn’t she?

… To better understand the strange changes in the permafrost, in 2017, I spoke with Robert Max Holmes, an earth systems scientist with the Woods Hole Research Center. When I reached him by phone, he was in Bethel, Alaska, a small outpost town 400 miles west of Anchorage, and had just come back from an eight-day research and teaching expedition in the wilderness.

A week earlier, Holmes and his students had set up temperature sensors in the soil near their encampment. Their first reading was 0.3°C. “It’s barely frozen. And we just sort of sat there stunned. You don’t know whether to cry or what. Because you’re just like: My God, this whole thing is just going to change in a big way.”

    Here’s how.

The UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change on Wednesday released a 1,000-plus page report amassing all the best evidence on how the icy regions of the world and the oceans are threatened by climate change.

Madam Speaker has read the beads.

  4. Anonymous November 16, 2019 at 5:09 pm

No doubt in my mind that he talked into that phone so ALL could hear.
He’s Donald John Trump! When he talks soft (advisor? Adderall?) I hear Alec Baldwin.

OT Looks like Bristol has found her next baby daddy. Janson Moore from Austin, Texas. He married his college girlfriend, Makensie Hausenfluck, in June, 2018 but it sure didn’t last long. He’s seriously religious and I just can’t see a guy like him taking on a woman whose been around the block so many times and with three kids from two different guys.

Sherrod Brown was interviewed by Bill Maher on Friday and he paid Nancy Pelosi the compliment that as a wrangler she was equal to or better than Lyndon Johnson. It’s not recorded if Maher appreciated that, I’ve noticed he reserves his worst venom for female politicians.

  7. Old Redneck November 16, 2019 at 6:05 pm

Meanwhile, Bristol has posted photo on her Instagram page of herself with some unidentified guy at a Texas A&M football game, both wearing jeans with the knees torn out.

    • nanna November 16, 2019 at 8:10 pm

He’s a broken-down QB and a grifter, what a shock. He won’t be around long.

Alicia Mangelsdorf’s offerings are more and more psychotic, I really hope I’m around when she ruins Bitchy B’s life and Bitchy has to pay for all those years of trying to bring Sunny Johnston down.

      • Old Redneck November 17, 2019 at 4:44 am

        Janson Moore.

He posted their photo with a biblical quotation: “‘Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.’ Don’t know that I would be referring to Barstool as “good and perfect.”

He’s 24, she’s 29 and been around the block several times. I give them about the same length of time she spent with Duhkota.

Meanwhile, the poor children will have another “daddy” to deal with.

        • Old Redneck November 17, 2019 at 4:46 am

Comments on the Daily Mail article are not kind to Bristol with some suggesting that she’s already knocked up.

        • Anonymous November 17, 2019 at 5:41 am

She’s gotta go five years younger to find someone?
“Not that there’s anything wrong with that…..”
He’ll find out soon enough once the new wears off.

      • Old Redneck November 17, 2019 at 8:35 am

He was engaged to a college sweetheart; they broke it off last year after establishing an elaborate wedding registry. What does the ex-fiance know that Bristol is too dumb to figure out?

  8. Old Redneck November 16, 2019 at 6:10 pm

Meanwhile, Sarah was in DC for observance of National Adoption Month . . . VP Pence even gave a shout-out to her in his speech.

    • nanna November 16, 2019 at 8:14 pm

Odd that Pence claims that Sarah “had to” be there because it was about adoption. He must have her confused with somebody who gives a damn.

Why is Sarah on the other side of the country- in a city she claims to hate- at an adoption party?

A rhetorical question, because nobody cares.

      Have you seen Todd?

      • Anonymous November 17, 2019 at 6:17 am

Because she didn’t birth Trig and EVERYONE knows it.
The ‘pet’ that she thought would shoe her in to The White House.
        He deserves SO much better.

      • Anonymous November 17, 2019 at 8:10 am

The e-mail Tawd sent. Paraphrasing, “the puppy has arrived.”
        And the “wild ride” began.

      • Anonymous November 17, 2019 at 2:19 pm

That is a particularly odd shout out considering Palin hasn’t adopted any children. Officially. She hasn’t championed adoption either. Is this damage control pre-divorce to head off any reveal by Todd that Tri-G is adopted? Why would she be in D.C. at all?

  9. Anon November 16, 2019 at 6:23 pm

I agree with Pelosi’s assessment about Trump being an imposter who needs to diminish everyone else.

  10. Anonymous November 16, 2019 at 9:56 pm

looks like little donnie is outsourcing his witness imitation, seems like they can go after donnie jr, which would make my day
The Real Witness Intimidation Was Outsourced To Bots And Trump’s Son
Was this obstruction of justice on the part of Junior, or on the part of spammers who quite possibly have direct ties to Trumpworld?

  11. Moles November 16, 2019 at 10:22 pm

I really don’t think he’s got any idea of just how much trouble he’s in. He’s so used to pulling off shady real estate deals with second rate mobster tactics that he thinks the same thing will work when he’s President. Unfortunately the GOP have let him get away with it thus far; I just hope the real world people can pull him back to earth. The only reason he wants another term is to stay out of jail.

“University of Florida’s student president is facing impeachment after using $50,000 in mandatory student tuition fees to pay for a campus visit from Donald Trump Jr. and his girlfriend, senior Trump campaign adviser Kimberly Guilfoyle.

The student government on Tuesday served Michael Murphy a formal impeachment resolution that accuses him of malfeasance and abuse of power for organizing the Oct. 10 speaking event.”

“Money for the event came from UF’s ACCENT Speakers Bureau, which is part of the student government, according to a copy of the engagement agreement.

Because a Student Body statute prohibits activity and service fee funds being spent in support of or against a political party “at any level,” Trump Jr. and Guilfoyle were barred from campaigning for Trump at UF. During their appearance, however, they praised the president’s policies and ideology and encouraged the audience to turn away from the “socialist” Democratic Party, according to the Tampa Bay Times.”

Trump is undermining the authority of the military.

“President Donald Trump has issued a full pardon for a former U.S. Army commando being charged with murder, undermining military justice proceedings.

A court-martial for Maj. Mathew Golsteyn had been scheduled for December at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, but was postponed until February.”

“Trump also issued a full pardon late Friday for Army 1st Lt. Clint Lorance and ordered a promotion for Special Warfare Operator 1st Class Edward R. Gallagher.”

Is he sending a message that he’ll pardon anyone loyal to him if they just fall on their swords?

    • Anonymous November 17, 2019 at 2:22 pm

“But many in the military, especially in military legal circles, are not celebrating. Trump’s reprieves, issued against the advice of top defense officials, were seen as a sign of disregard not only for the decisions of military juries but also for the judicial process itself.

Military officials publicly accepted the president’s orders — pardons for Maj. Matthew Golsteyn of the Army Special Forces and Lorance, and a sentence reduction for Chief Petty Officer Edward Gallagher of the Navy SEALs — with a terse yessir.

“We acknowledge his order and are implementing it,” the Navy chief of information said on Twitter.

Privately, though, many worried that Trump’s actions could erode discipline by sending a message to troops and commanders that in some cases the laws of war would not apply.

“It’s just institutionally harmful,” said Rachel VanLandingham, a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel and former judge advocate who teaches law at Southwestern Law School. “This isn’t about these three individuals, it’s about the whole military justice system and whether that system itself is something of value to the operations of the military.” ”

“Many senior military leaders felt the pardons sent the wrong message, said Phillip Carter, an Iraq War veteran who researches military issues at the Rand Corp.

“Ever since Vietnam the leadership has sent a message that there is a link between discipline, respect for laws of war and military effectiveness,” Carter said. “The pardons send a different message that sometimes the laws get in the way.””

  14. Anonymous November 16, 2019 at 11:26 pm

    First Kentucky. Then Louisiana.

“Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards won a second term Saturday to remain the only Democratic governor in the Deep South despite an all-out effort by President Donald Trump to flip the seat to the Republican column.

Edwards narrowly beat wealthy Republican businessman Eddie Rispone, who invested more than $14 million of his own money to finance his campaign and tied himself to Trump from start to finish.”

Despite what political pundits are saying, so far the impeachment inquiry doesn’t seem to be hurting Democrats at all. I’m sure the GOP is beginning to sweat over 2020 now and the midnight oil is being burned. Hopefully discussions will turn to the albatross in the White House and if they should cut their losses, dump Trump and try to make themselves heroes to regain the popular vote.

  15. Anonymous November 17, 2019 at 12:30 am

The unbelievable part is that the Republican politicians have his back. They love that he saved them from being obsolete. They know Russia helped so they do everything to aid and abet just so the can stay alive. Tis a sad world we live in when you sell out your country to stay relevant.
