Nancy Pelosi clashes with House Democrats over question of impeachment.

We all know where this is gong, the only question is how long will it take to get there?

Several Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee pressed Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Monday evening to move forward with an impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump as one of his former White House aides planned to defy a congressional subpoena Tuesday.

During a weekly Democratic leadership meeting in Pelosi’s office on Capitol Hill, Reps. Jamie Raskin of Maryland, David Cicilline of Rhode Island and Joe Neguse of Colorado all argued for launching an impeachment inquiry if former White House counsel Don McGahn failed to testify Tuesday before the Judiciary Committee, which has the power to initiate impeachment proceedings. McGahn’s legal team said Monday evening that he would not appear because Trump instructed him not to comply with the panel’s subpoena.

“It was a big debate and was long and very emotional,” one source inside the Democratic leadership meeting told NBC News.

Impeachment was also raised at a separate weekly meeting Monday evening among Democratic leaders and committee chairs, including by Rep. Steve Cohen of Tennessee, another member of the Judiciary Committee.

The debate in both meetings Monday highlighted deepening divides within the party, as more members of the House Democratic Caucus lean toward opening impeachment proceedings and top leaders remain opposed.

“We’ve always said one thing we’ll lead to another as we get information,” Pelosi, D-Calif., said during the meeting to her members, still wary about the calls to open proceedings that appear to be growing among rank-and-file members. “We still have unexhausted avenues here,” she added, referring specifically to the ability of Democrats to use inherent contempt against those who defy subpoenas.

The pressure on Pelosi is definitely building, but so far some of the bigger names in the Democratic party are resisting the urge to criticize her. At least publicly.

Here was AOC answering questions about Trump’s impeachment just today.

Ocasio Cortez seems to be all in when it comes to calling for Trump’s impeachment, but still supports Nancy Pelosi’s slow approach.

However, there is also pressure coming from outside sources such as Tom Steyer and his Needtoimpeach movement.

People are clearly starting to get fed up with all of this waiting, and if something does not happen soon establishment Democrats might find their House seats yanked right out from under them.

I have a lot of confidence in her abilities as Speaker of the House but personally, I do not know how much longer Pelosi can continue to keep a firm grip on the reins.

As my dad would say “This bitch wants to run, and the best thing to do is to get out of the damn way.”

The House can initiate impeachment articles; the Senate is where these articles of impeachment are tried. The Senate is in Mitch McConnell’s control. It will not vote to impeach Trump for obstruction of justice. Pelosi knows this. Look, I want Trump out of office as bad as the next sane person, but impeaching him in the House won’t do it. It won’t get past the Senate.
It will, however, give Trump campaign ads. He’ll turn the Senate’s refusal to try him for obstruction of justice as a win.
The only way to get rid of this monstrosity is at the ballot box. Vote Blue! Vote Blue No Matter Who. Democrats Unite.

I think Nancy is giving trump more hope to hang himself, she is getting all the ducks in a row first, better to proceed with caution and get more evidence before trump get off.. apparently Mueller didn’t even look at little donnie’s financials, maybe she is also waiting to see what they can dig up on those.

Personally, i think Nancy wants to give traitor trump the impression that he got away with it and then she is going to drop the bomb.

“It was a very positive meeting, a respectful sharing of ideas. And, I think, a very impressive presentation by our chairs. We do believe that it’s important to follow the facts. We believe that no one is above the law, including the President of the United States, and we believe that the President of the United States is engaged in a cover-up — in a cover-up, and that was the nature of the meeting.”
