Mitch McConnell has an opponent in 2020, and this one is a Marine.

Amy McGrath, a Marine combat aviator who narrowly lost a House race to an incumbent Republican in Kentucky, has set her sights on an even more formidable target: Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

McGrath, whose campaign announcement video in her House race showcased the viral power of social media to raise money and national profile, said Tuesday she will be trying to defeat one of the most entrenched officials in Washington in McConnell. But she sees him as vulnerable because of his lengthy tenure in Washington, his stance on health care and his taut allegiance to the policies of President Donald Trump.

Her decision to enter the race represents a rare victory for Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer of New York, who has had difficulty persuading top-tier candidates in other states to take on incumbent Republicans with control of the Senate at stake.

The contest also will test the power of incumbency against a call for generational change along with a measure of whether Trump’s popularity is transferable.

McGrath, 44, will almost certainly be able to raise enough money to mount a serious challenge to McConnell, 77, but she is still a decided underdog in a state that has not elected a Democrat to the Senate since Wendell Ford in 1992.

Mcgrath only lost her congressional race against Andy Barr by 3 points in the 2018 midterms so she clearly has a base of support.

Going up against McConnell is obviously going to be an uphill battle, he does appear to be vulnerable.

And that vulnerability may increase exponentially if a Trump impeachment hearing starts to reveal even more criminal behaviors that McConnell helped to hide from the public by undermining Senate investigations.

Good old Mitch rationalize his slave owning ancestors with a comment, Obama’s family owned slaves also.

I would love for him to do a DNA test and find out he is part black, it would drive him nuts.

It’s a fact: The Trump administration, hand-in-hand with the Senate has punched back hard at Russian election interference that happened on the Obama administration’s watch.

“You know, I find myself in the same position as President Obama. We both oppose reparations, and we both are the descendants of slave owners,” “t the US has dealt with its “original sin of slavery” because it elected Obama”

I watched McCain’s funeral, and couldn’t stop thinking of how a nice game of “connect the dots” with a Sharpie would be on age spots.

McGrath flatly said Donald Trump and McConnell have sold out the people of Kentucky and failed to keep their promises.
“A lot of Kentuckians voted for President Trump because President Trump said he was going to drain the swamp, he was going to bring back jobs,” the Democrat said. “He was going to do some reasonable things like get down prescription drug prices, which is so important for Kentucky, and Senator McConnell has stopped that, too.”

“Since Trump took office, McConnell has made Congress an even more toxic place, transforming the Senate into an extension of the Trump White House.”

tinydjt tweet>Democrats are coming after our great Kentucky Senator, Mitch McConnell, with someone who compared my election to September 11th….
….Why would Kentucky ever think of giving up the most powerful position in Congress, the Senate Majority Leader, for a freshman Senator with little power in what will hopefully be the minority party. We need Mitch in the Senate to Keep America Great!!

When your kids and grandkids are dropping off like flies, or dropping off like in the 80’s/90’s aids crisis – because of global warming directly caused by this economical industrial religious consumer arrogance – the whole planet will have McConnell and his type to thank.

And don’t be blind – “his type” include not using your own reusable cup (no cup? No coffee), not donating your items to a thrift store or elsewhere (landfills are for trash, not clothes and furnishings etc!!), and marking your territory with newborns.
