Minneapolis man exercises his 2nd Amendment rights by firing into a school bus and hitting the driver in the head.

Jesus, did you see that?

A MnDOT traffic camera was rolling for the slow, snow-filled commute. As cars crept along, a Toyota pulled over in front of a pickup truck and a school bus. That is when the driver, who police say was 31-year-old Kenneth Lilly, got out and immediately started firing.

The video is tough to see, but shows what appear to be a couple gun flashes right away. Then, as the man walks between the pickup and the school bus, he apparently fires at least two more times. One final flash is seen as the man stands next to the bus’s door.

After the shooting, the man can be seen on the phone, pacing back and forth. A gun can be seen in a holster on his hip. He is wearing what appears to be a security guard uniform. As the first Minnesota State Patrol trooper arrives, the man puts his hands up. He is later cuffed and walked to the door of the bus, then put in a squad.

Police say the bus driver was hit in the head but will survive. Lilly has not yet been charged. Police said Tuesday that a small crash may have led up to the shooting.

There was a child in the back of the bus as well who fortunately emerged unharmed.

This has been described by other news outlets as a “road rage” incident but the tape really does not show any reason that this Lilly guy was so pissed off.

Unless he just hates school buses or something.

What is especially troubling is that this asshole seems to be employed as a security guard which means he probably had some training with firearms, and yet he still loses it and casually shoots an innocent man with a child in the line of fire.

It’s just crazy.

Inflammatory headline. What he did was not his Constitutional right. That’s as bad as Trump going on about illegal alien murderers or late term abortions. Meant to stir up emotions, not solve anything.

I live in this area. It has been said that the bus scraped the vehicle the shooter was driving just prior to the incident. Given the driving conditions at the time it is not surprising. In that rush hour drive time there were nearly 250 accidents reported. These types of accidents happen all the time in these weather conditions, but it is no excuse to start shooting.

Quite an over-reaction to a fender bender in bad road conditions during a rush hour.

Oh, and the kid on the bus was 8 years old.

“The article also claimed that days before the conversation with Aldakhil, according to the same intelligence report, bin Salman complained to another aide, Saud al-Qahtani, that Khashoggi had grown too influential and was reportedly tarnishing his image as a reformer.
CNN has not seen or heard the intelligence reports and cannot independently verify the Times’ claims. The Saudi government and Aldakhil didn’t immediately respond to CNN’s request for comment.”

My son’s generation has never NOT known gun violence threats at school. My son is a high school student. As each student enters the building their backpacks and keys are placed on an X-ray machine belt and they walk single file through a metal detector. All students must wear a school ID. If they forgot their ID at home then security must go to the office and process paperwork to let them attend classes. All of the doors to the high school are locked throughout the day and any visitor must be buzzed in at the main entrance, sign in, go through the security checks and be escorted by security. The school also utilizes cameras on all 3 floors throughout the building plus more cameras outside. A Chicago police officer is also assigned to the school for additional safety. My son’s school is ranked one of the top 10 high schools in the city of Chicago and is in a nice neighborhood with very little crime. This is only one school in America but this is what is now considered necessary steps for the kids safety.

Recent polls show that 90-97% of gun owners support universal background checks!! Then why are we living in fear all the time?

When I listen to the parents who have lost children to gun violence speak to the media, my heart breaks for their loss. And when I hear that dumbass Rep. Matt Gaetz try and have the Parkland parents removed from a gun violence hearing, I scream at the stupidity. For me, a promise to enact gun control laws will be on my priority list for any Presidential candidate in 2020.

I may have missed something while watching the video, but it seemed to me that the perpetrator got a lot of “quite gentle” attention from the first policeman on the scene and no one was attending to the victim. And where was an ambulance to take care of the victim? Did someone, while this was playing out, rescue the child who was sitting in the back of the bus or was he kept there while all the chatting was going on outside the bus? I doubt if a policeman would have been so solicitous about a person who’s just shot a bus driver in the head if the perpetrator were African American or Hispanic. I hope the bus driver not only survives but is not left with any permanent disability as a result of one man’s insane behavior.

Beaglemom, just got the update on the news. The bus driver was a 78 year old man. He was shot in the head and arm. The shooter has been charged with 2nd degree attempted murder and 2nd degree assault with a dangerous weapon. He also had to surrender his carry permit. He called 911 immediately after the shooting. He is trying to claim self defense…riiiiiiggghhhht! In 2015 he shot and killed a masked man who had pointed a gun at him and a girl he was with. No information or updates have been on the news about the child on the bus.
