Meghan McCain accuses the Trump Administration of using the West as a slush fund for Vladimir Putin.

The View co-host Meghan McCain alleged that some members of the Trump administration are using their positions to establish a “slush fund” for Russia and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

McCain, 35, made the comment during a brief moment on Monday’s show in which she addressed her presentation of the Magnitsky Award to Oleg Sentsov, who was imprisoned in Russia for coming out against Russia’s annexation of Crimea, last week.

“I was at the Magnitsky Human Rights Awards in London, and Sergei Magnitsky was someone who found corruption in Russia, was subsequently tortured and killed because of it, and there is now an act that is in the United States, and we’re trying to make it expand globally where basically Russia can’t use the West and democracy for their dirty money, that they can’t launder it in countries that love and utilize democracy and freedom every single day,” she said.

Before the show went to a commercial break, she added, “I believe there are people in the Trump administration that are trying to use the West as a slush fund for Vladimir Putin and Russia, and we cannot let it happen.”

I am not a fan of Meghan MacCain, and never quote her here on IM. (I checked, this is the first time.)

However, what she is saying here is undoubtedly accurate.

And this fund is not simply made up of money stored in banks, real estate, and investments within the west either, it is also Putin’s increasing influence in places like America, Britain, and Germany, to name a few, as well.

This influence is likely the most valuable part of the slush fund because with it Putin is able to apply pressure to have sanctions lifted, assassinate his enemies in western countries without fear of reprisal, and ensure that the armies of the west will stand down while he does things like invade Crimea, take over American bases in Syria, and steal resources from enemies and allies alike.

As for straight up money laundering, do not forget that the Russian oligarchs have purchased a number of Trump properties and are big investors in his golf resorts, hotels, and other businesses promoting his brand.

So is the Trump Administration using the West as Putin’s own slush fund?

Does a bear shit in the woods?

(They do, I’ve stepped in it.)

I’m sorry. I will always see her as the daughter of John McCain and nothing more.
    Policy wonk? Hardly.

      Don’t shoot the messenger. 😞

Whether you like her or not, LISTEN TO THE MESSAGE and consider the VERY strong possibility of what she is saying.

It isn’t a secret she runs with people who are in the political and geopolitical worlds and could easily be repeating something she has heard discussed.

The thing is that if you take a look at what’s been happening globally and connect the dots, all roads do SEEM to in someway lead back to PUTIN.

She is just the messenger. Heed the message. Your trusted blogger, Gryphen just concurred with what she is saying.

Mark my words, she will vote for Trump in 2020 and claim that the “socialist left” forced her to do it. Fuck Meghan McCain and her equally shitty husband.

Kind of like that $200 million aluminum mill the Russians planned to build in Kentucky after sanctions got lifted from them. Moscow Mitch is no doubt very grateful.

Geez! Finally a Republican who has its eye opened? Vlad is soooo rich its disgusting. He is languishing in the shit. We all know that. And like Trump there are some powerful people who have kept his bald ass in power. And yes people in his country do die when they go against Vlad. Just like when people go agaonst Trump he gets all whiny assed on Twitter. Wont be long before vlad tells Trumps people when and how to off an American. Oh, wait. He did already by offing old perv Jeffrey Epstien. Uh oh. Us Americans have just become expendable in the name of Trump the savior, Vlad the god and the invisible assassin.

File this in the “DUH” cabinet… any one with half a brain could easily find out that the man she voted for (Trump) has been laundering money for Russian oligarchs for DECADES.

The significance here is a staunch Republican standing up to Trump. Meghan McCain shows her fellow Republicans you can be a Republican and still call out corruption, even if it is powerful people or corporations in your own country. Even if it is someone in your own party.

I don’t think they’re getting the message with Romney (sour grapes) or some of the other Representatives and Senators that may have lost races or whatever that have called Trump out. But I think Meghan may have a better shot at opening the eyes of a few of her fellow conservatives. She also makes it a point to make it about money. And money laundering. You know, like mobsters do. That’s a sensitive subject with the every day Republican. The don’t like it and they certainly don’t like the U.S. involved in it. Not the government and not the private sector. Not our banks. And they especially don’t like it connected with the Russians. The average Republican Joe considers Russia under Putin the enemy.
