No seriously, why are you still sitting here? Vote!

As I already humble bragged earlier I voted last week on the very first day of early voting in Alaska.

I don’t want to blow my own horn but I am pretty confident that my vote not only guaranteed the selection of my candidates but that it may, in fact, have completely saved the country.

I know what you are thinking, Gryphen you arrogant asshole, your one single vote cannot change anything.

First off who are you calling an asshole?

Secondly, I hate to admit it but you may be right. (About the last part, not the first part.)

However, and this is key, I am not alone when I go to the polling place, I am just one of the millions of well informed, energized, determined Americans who are voting to save this country from the likes of Donald Trump and his minions.

And if we can show up in the numbers that pundits all over the country have predicted, we will do exactly that.

Wait, are you still reading this?

Get up, get out, and do your part to save this country.

Our children and grandchildren are counting on you.

(When you are finished come right back here and I will have some interesting posts to share as a reward for your patriotism. Okay well maybe they won’t be THAT interesting, but there will definitely be something here. I promise.)

This blog is dedicated to finding the truth, exposing the lies, and holding our politicians and leaders accountable when they fall far short of the promises that they have made to both my fellow Alaskans and the American people.

Vote today even if it’s raining outside. Everybody’s vote matters. Don the Con and Sessions are, with absolutely no evidence, whining about “voter fraud” and potential violence. if there’s any fraud, we know it will be GOP election fraud and the violence will only come from the far right that Don the Con has been ginning up since that depressing day he took office.

Voted a couple of weeks ago by absentee !!!

What is going to happen down south( LA to SC and TN), the power is out because of storms last night… weird because I was watching Nightline about hacking into the voting machines and thought gee the russians have already hacked into our power grid what happens if they take out the power grid today.

The smart thing would be to go back to paper ballots. All the big-tech stuff creates more problems than not and no one needs to know the outcome of major elections by 10:30 pm the day of the election. From the late 1940’s into the 1960’s my mother worked at the polls as a Democratic representative. The counting was done very carefully and any errors were caught by my mother’s eagle eyes! We’d all be better of: the Russians wouldn’t be able to “hack” paper ballots, the GOP would have a much harder time hiding them on election day, and no machine would change the votes that people entered. Mark the space on your ballot and turn it in. Nothing simpler. The GOP wouldn’t like making the change to paper ballots and the media wouldn’t like it but the American people would know that their ballots were counted – one at a time.

“HuffPost is partnering with ProPublica’s Electionland project as part of a reporting collaboration to write about access to the ballot box in the 2018 elections. And we need you to alert us to problems at the polls so we can investigate them.

    No tip is too small:

Tribalism reigns in Trump’s America, with many voters seeming increasingly isolated from one another, taking refuge in separate political tribes. Award-winning journalist George Packer joins the program to discuss his latest article unpacking the groundbreaking study “Hidden Tribes,” from the group More in Common.
