Don’t listen to conservatives who claim you are overreacting. You’re not.
Courtesy of Politico:
This past spring, President Donald Trump began a full-fledged assault on voting by mail, tweeting, retweeting and railing about massive fraud and rigged elections with scant evidence.
Then the Republican apparatus got to work backing up the president.
In the weeks since, Trump’s campaign and the Republican National Committee have taken to the courts dozens of times as part of a $20 million effort to challenge voting rules, including filing their own lawsuits in several battleground states, including Minnesota, Pennsylvania and Nevada. And around the time Trump started musing about delaying the election last week, aides and outside advisers began scrambling to ponder possible executive actions he could take to curb mail-in voting — everything from directing the postal service to not deliver certain ballots to stopping local officials from counting them after Election Day.
The actions can only make so much difference before November — elections are mostly run at the state and local level, and are subject to congressional authority. And some fellow Republicans are warning the president privately and publicly that attempts to restrict mail-in ballots could actually hurt the GOP in November, scaring Republicans from voting remotely even if they also refuse to vote in person during a pandemic. New polling has fueled these concerns.
But the flurry of activity is buoying the president in other ways. Namely, it has allowed Trump to present himself as a fighter on an issue that many of his most fervent supporters have taken up in the last few months.
Trump fans, said John Fredericks, a conservative radio host who serves on the Trump campaign’s advisory committee, “think Trump is going to win legitimately, but the Democrats are trying to steal the election by manipulating mail-out ballots. They want the president to jawbone enough so there’s a level of outrage to get rid of these ballots.”
Just because Trump’s claims of rampant mail-in voting fraud aren’t supported by evidence doesn’t mean election experts aren’t concerned about problems holding a presidential election during a pandemic. It’s unknown whether the United States Postal Service can handle a surge of mail-in ballots in a timely fashion, and other officials have cautioned about long lines and a shortage of workers at in-person polling stations, which have been limited during the coronavirus outbreak.
Some have predicted the crush of remote voting could mean a final winner in the presidential race between Trump and Democrat Joe Biden won’t be known for days or even weeks. Democrats are pushing for $25 billion for USPS in the next coronavirus recovery bill to help address those concerns, but it remains a source of disagreement with Republicans.
Keep in mind that it was the delay of the final count that allowed George W. Bush to use the Supreme Court to steal the 2000 election from Al Gore.
People wanted that election decided and over with, and using that leverage the Republicans were able to undermine the will of the people and put one of the worst presidents in my lifetime into office.
That very well could be the strategy here.
So we need to vote, vote early, and vote in overwhelming numbers.
Or else, and I hate to say this out loud, we actually might end up with Donald Trump for another four years.
Again. If you believe this to be real, this has an easy solution.
Get off your couches and go vote in person/ Wallah. Problem solved. Jesus. This isn’t complicated.
People should not have to risk their lives to participate in our democracy, troll.
You know what protecting Democracy means sir. It certainly isn’t going to be saved by running a bitch session blog.
Yet here you are.
Are you going to be sitting on your couch bitching that Trump won again?
I think Trump should be impeached for this. It is absolutely obscene that the USPS is under such a threat, at any time, but during a pandemic!!!! And, besides, what the “expletive” doesn’t Trump like about the USPS? He’s probably never put a postage stamp on a piece of mail and I’m willing to bet that he’s never personally mailed a package. When this threat first emerged last year, I phone my GOP Congressional representative and complained. And that was before the pandemic.
I would no more call my congressman nor senator. They do not care what you think, Beaglemom, been there done that.
Don’t forget he votes by mail
My senator, Gary Peters, sent out and email and they are investigating this whole post office scam.
Yeah. Tell me a time when the Republicans didn’t steal the election. It’s like taking candy from a dumb baby when they usurp the trusting and doe eyes Dems. Once we learn the POS play mean we play mean. Fuck what Michealle Obama sez. Nope, we don’t go higher. We go as underhanded as those fucking Republicans.
doe eyes Dems

Got that right! They don’t do jack.
Also, when I come on this site, there is this stupid add that try to portray Donnald the coward as the man of law and order. Law and order for him is locking kids in cages. Man, they are really trying to push this stonger Jesus image. If Trump wins this election we will definitely see Hitler incarnate. He is so butt hurt he will try. And history will go down as another disasterous fiasco. Humans are not capable of learning when they insist of reacting.
Not Gryph’s fault but the medium he chose for the new site.
And don’t forget the Republicans are following Hitler’s model of loyalty. Remember that news cast when all of them gathered around a table and waxes love sonnets Donald’s way, and he sat there like a good lil boy and soaked it up. Then Americans were perplexed. Like, what the hell? But that’s how Hitler and his cronies latched people onto them until the very bitter end. Loyalty. So, if Donald wins we see how this all plays out. Not good for those of us who believe in democracy. Including those Republicans who think they can reign him back in. McConnel and Steven Miller would look fitting in a Nazi hat by the way.

“Trump’s Postmaster General Louis DeJoy and his wife, Aldona Wos, nominated to become our ambassador to Canada, own between $30 million and $75 million of assets in competitors to the US Postal Service. No problem there, right?”
“Trump’s “executive action suspending collection of payroll taxes hands the Dems the kind of issue that can sink a candidacy. It is nothing less than a declaration of war on Social Security and Medicare. The payroll tax funds those two vital and beloved programs.” —

“– SEN. BEN SASSE (R-Neb.): “The pen-and-phone theory of executive lawmaking is unconstitutional slop… President Trump does not have the power to unilaterally rewrite the payroll tax law.””
(But I’ll bet Sasse still votes with the Republicans supporting Trump, even though Moscow Mitch gave them permission to “distance.”)

The Barr interview was disgraceful because it reveals how the Executive Branch of the federal government has been warped to fit Trump’s cult of personality.

RINO Ben Sasse, who needed my support and endorsement in order to get the Republican nomination for Senate from the GREAT State of Nebraska, has, now that he’s got it (Thank you President T), gone rogue, again. This foolishness plays right into the hands of the Radical Left Dems!

(Reuters) – U.S. Attorney General William Barr mounted a partisan attack on the Democratic Party in an interview that aired Sunday, claiming the left believes in “tearing down the system” and pursues absolute victory as “a substitute for religion.”
Barr said Democrats had pulled away from classic liberal values and now were akin to the “Rousseauian Revolutionary Party” aimed at destroying the institutions upon which the country was built.
“They’re not interested in compromise, they’re not interested in dialectic exchange of views. They’re interested in total victory,” Barr said of the left. “It’s a secular religion. It’s a substitute for a religion.”
When asked about the push to expand mail-in ballots, Barr said he was “very worried about it.”
He said he was fine with “individual cases” where people that have difficulty making it to the polls apply for and receive a ballot in the mail.
“But the idea that you, without any request from the voter, will mail out your voting list, all these thousands and thousands of ballots, is scary because most of those mailings go to a lot of addresses where the people no longer live,” Barr said. “They could easily create a situation where there’s going to be a contested election.”
If you missed it, read anonymous’ post August 9, 2020 at 11:43 am in the Trump Veteran’s Choice post that Gryph did.
I believe that in spades because I see it happening more each dayFFS!. And what do the Democrats do? Another $25 billion that we DO NOT HAVE.
FFS! On a Sunday.
Spaghetti on a wall.
If, God Forbid, we get another four years of Trump, I suspect a Democratic House and Senate will have a few things to say about his unbridled insanity. Otherwise, we become just another shithole country before he’s done with us.
We’re already there, Lynne.
I agree, we are already well on our way to shithole country status. People who need healthcare can’t get it, there’s far more violence and shooting in the US than other developed countries, we can’t seem to figure out how to send kids back to school safely, and the police kill black people at alarming rates. Those are just a few examples of our failures. If we heard the news stories coming out of our country, but didn’t realize the reporter was talking about our country, I think most Americans would safely label it as not a great place to live.
Stop taking Donald Trump’s bait
…. Do we need to fight to keep the post office from being gutted? Of course. But Trump can’t really get rid of it, and he knows that. He’s counting on you not knowing it. He’s trying to create the perception that he’s made it unsafe to vote by mail, and that he’s already somehow magically won.

It’s not just slowing down mail delivery.
I am a member of the Electoral Board in my rural VA county. The USPS has ordered changes in the envelopes used to mail out and to return absentee ballots. We have been wrestling with USPS for two weeks — every proof we send to them is wrong — need to move this logo 1/4-inch; make the bar code longer; etc., etc., etc. AND WE ARE COPYING THEIR SAMPLES. Our printer is losing his mind. We must start mailing out absentee ballots on Sep 18 and the USPS still will not approve the envelopes.
Trump’s call to “delay” the election is a distraction — but it’s also a serious threat
Remember, Bill Barr and Mitch McConnell are delighted to stomp on the rule of law to keep Republicans in power

Dry run for November?
https://www.huffpost.com/entry/puerto-rico-halts-primary-voting-centers-lacking-ballots_n_5f3060aac5b64d7a55f5099b
“Puerto Rico on Sunday was forced to partially suspend voting for primaries marred by a lack of ballots as officials called on the president of the U.S. territory’s elections commission to resign.
The primaries for voting centers that had not received ballots by early afternoon are expected to be rescheduled, while voting would continue elsewhere, the commission said.”
“An incredulous Schatz noted that there were still trucks with ballots inside parked at the commission’s headquarters as they spoke there.
“The question is, why haven’t they left?” he said.”

…we have an organization whose only objective is selling guns. Sell them to terrorists, domestic abusers, white supremacists – disturbed teens who feel like shooting up their classrooms. Anyone who wants a gun should get one, and as a consequence, gun violence rapidly became an epidemic. Pre Covid-19…
Regardless of how one feels about the NRA, reasonable people can agree that corruption is not a Second Amendment right.
Enter Ru$$ia…the bottom line is that the NRA has laundered Ru$$ian money. Ru$$ia Ru$$ia Ru$$ia
It cares about funneling money to desirable politicians like Donald Trump and it cares about creating mayhem in America. What better way than to give money to an organization that lobbies for letting as many mass shooters as possible have as many weapons as possible to shoot as many people as possible in as short a time as possible?
Letitia James’s suit is a smart way to approach corruption in the NRA because Trump and Barr can’t touch it. This law suit is under New York law and it deals exclusively with the NRA’s dealings within the Empire State. Once Russia is brought into the equation, there can be jurisdictional issues with an unknown outcome…
