In Part 2 of the Maddow interview, Parnas claims that John Dowd –after Trump green-lit him to represent Parnas — told him to be a “good boy” after he was arrested.

Indicted Rudy Giuliani associate Lev Parnas charged on Thursday night that his now-former lawyers, who are close to President Donald Trump, tried to get him to throw himself under the bus to protect the President.
Parnas told MSNBC host Rachel Maddow that he fired John Dowd, who previously served as Trump’s lawyer, and Kevin Downing, Paul Manafort’s ex-lawyer, after they visited him in jail and “started talking to me like a drill sergeant and giving me orders” instead of trying to help him with his criminal indictment for campaign finance violations.
“Were they telling you to sacrifice yourself in order to protect the President?” asked Maddow.
“That’s what I felt,” he said.
The MSNBC host followed up with: “Is the implication of this story of the lawyers that you feel that people loyal to the President and close to the President were trying to influence your defense and your case in a way that was against your interests but in the President’s interests?”
“Absolutely,” Parnas responded. “I think they tried to keep me quiet.”
It was almost impossible to watch this and not be reminded of the testimony by Trump’s former personal attorney Michael Cohen in which he described a very similar situation.
This is what Trump does, he uses people and then abandons them when they need him most.
Parnas also said that he was scared and called Trump a “cult leader.”

Rudy Giuliani associate Lev Parnas said he was giving media interviews about his role in President Trump’s attempts to convince Ukrainian officials to announce an investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden because he wanted to protect himself from Attorney General William Barr.
Parnas made that claim in an interview with MSNBC host Rachel Maddow, the second part of which aired Thursday night.
Trump, Parnas said, was made more powerful “when he got William Barr.”
“They’re trying to scare me into not talking,” Parnas said of officials in the Justice Department, adding that “My wife is scared. My kids are nervous.”
“People are scared,” he said of Trump’s supporters. “Am I scared, yes.”
Parnas, who is under indictment on campaign finance charges in the Southern District of New York, which is overseen by Barr’s office, went on to describe Trump as a “cult leader.”
“I don’t think Trump is like organized crime,” Parnas said, “I think he’s a cult leader.”
I have to say that of all of things that Parnas has said about Trump the last two nights this is the one I believe the most.
What I most certainly DO NOT believe is that Trump never met the guy.
Here’s the “I don’t know him at all, don’t know what he’s about, don’t know where he comes from, know nothing about him” guy, w Lev Parnas & Roman Nasirov, former head of Ukrainian Fiscal Service, at Mar-a-Lago 12/16. @POTUS .@realDonaldTrump @Acosta #LevRemembers #LetLevSpeak pic.twitter.com/5B5QY2DJEg
