House Democrats refuse to participate in meeting at White House over government shutdown. Suggest it was just a photo-op for Trump.

Trump’s game playing is wearing thin.

House Democrats refused to participate in a Tuesday afternoon meeting with President Donald Trump, dashing the White House’s long-shot hopes of convincing moderates to circumvent their leaders and reach a grand bargain to reopen the government.

With the shutdown stretching into its 25th day, negotiations between Trump and top congressional Democrats have screeched to a halt. Both sides are refusing to shift their positions and communication between the two camps has been at a standstill since the president stormed out of a meeting last week.

“I’ll meet with him anytime he wants. But the last time I spoke to him was when he threw a temper tantrum and walked out, and we haven’t heard from him since then,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said Tuesday afternoon.

The failed effort to court Democrats Tuesday is the latest setback for a president who is running out of options to reopen the government and realize his long-standing pledge to build the border wall.

Apparently, White House aides have been reaching out to Housse Democrats in an effort to do an end-run around Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer who have outmaneuvered Trump at every turn.

However, the Democrats have told him to fuck off.

“The question everybody can reasonably ask: Is he inviting people to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue to really try to resolve this problem?” said Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.), House Democratic Caucus chairman. “Or to create a photo-op to project a false sense of bipartisanship.”

Clearly, Trump does not realize who he is messing with here.

A two year old throwing a tantrum is harsh. Especially when the two year old is tired and hungry. Theres no reasoning with it then. Now imagine a two year old in a seventy one year old body. Even trumps family found him volitile enough to send him to a military school which did nothing to curb his evil. I would say by then it was too late to do anything for the boy. Now we have him for president. This isnt going to go well. A man baby who has never done well with the word no is a danger to himself and those around him. I mean, he has had the highest turnover in US history in his administration. Not a day has gone by where he hasnt diturbed the sanctity of our constitution yet he is just beginning. It is now said that people are looking to mueller to bring down this guy. And now trump places key people in power who love him as cult leader. The republicans are the stronghold. Ole turtleface will see the demise of our democracy before he lets down his gaurd and do the right thing, just because he has a base that cant see the noses on their faces to know our country is under seige by putin. And they have been brainwashed about the liberal democrat as being an evil thing.

My feeling is this whole give me my wall/shutdown the government fiasco was trump’s idea to put the Democrats in their place (show them he is the boss:).. too bad for him he underestimated them and the whole thing has blow up in his face.

He had two years with republicans running everything, why didn’t he ask for his $5.6 billion (which is really going to cost us $26 billion) when they were in charge? Oh right because Mexico is going to pay for it.

Also nothing has been said about getting permission from Mexico to actually build his damn wall.. or is he planning on taking over the country with force?

Located between the Capitol and the White House, “Chefs for Feds” will serve free meals to federal government employees in need until the government reopens.

Here is the leverage the republicans need to get trump to open the government, not unpaid workers that can’t pay their bills, the big money in a stupid football game.. bet they can pressure the moron in the WH.

Sen. Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.) said this week that he’s worried the partial government shutdown could affect next month’s Super Bowl, which will be held in Atlanta.

Isakson on Tuesday suggested that Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport could go “out of business” because of a shortage of Transportation Security Agency employees, who are working unpaid during the shutdown.

“We’ve got a Super Bowl coming to Atlanta, Ga., in about three weeks. The biggest tourism event in the world this year,” Isakson said, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution……
