Please do not take medical advice from a man who looked directly at a solar eclipse.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Tuesday knocked President Trump’s response to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, tweeting: “Please do not take medical advice from a man who looked directly at a solar eclipse.”
The retort from Trump’s 2016 White House rival makes reference to Trump temporarily taking off his protective glasses during an August 2017 eclipse and looking up at the sky.
Clinton has been vocal about her opposition to the Trump administration’s response to the global outbreak, spelling out several policy solutions she said should be immediately implemented by the White House.
Earlier this month, she tweeted that the federal government should have implemented actions such as quarantines and federally mandated paid sick leave.
Yeah, Clinton makes an excellent point.
The man is too dumb to avoid burning his corneas why would we believe he knows the best way to fight a pandemic?
And Clinton was not the only person to call Trump out over his suggestion that Americans need to get back to work.
We also have this from billionaire Bill Gates courtesy of Vox:
Bill Gates rebuked proposals, floated over the last two days by leaders like Donald Trump, to reopen the global economy despite the Covid-19 coronavirus outbreak, saying that this approach would be “very irresponsible.”
Gates did not mention Trump by name, but the American president has said that he may decide to relax some of the country’s “social distancing” in order to jumpstart the country’s shut-down economy. Gates, the country’s leading philanthropist, has been among the most active tech leaders in using his resources to try and contain the virus.
“There really is no middle ground, and it’s very tough to say to people, ‘Hey, keep going to restaurants, go buy new houses, ignore that pile of bodies over in the corner. We want you to keep spending because there’s maybe a politician who thinks GDP growth is all that counts,’” Gates said in an interview with TED Tuesday. “It’s very irresponsible for somebody to suggest that we can have the best of both worlds.”
Now it may seem as if I am simply stating the obvious here, but while all of you are intelligent thoughtful people there are some idiots who actually think that Trump knows what he is talking about.
Courtesy of CNBC:
Sixty percent of Americans indicated they approve of the way the president is steering the country in response to the pandemic, while 38% said they disapprove.
Nearly all Republicans surveyed in the poll, 94%, said they approved of his response, while 60% of independents and 27% of Democrats said the same, according to Gallup.
The poll, which had a margin of error of 4 percentage points, comes on the heels of other public surveys that have shown Trump’s popularity creeping upward recently.
A majority of Americnas acutally think that Trump is handling this pandemic well?
Have they not watched even one of his Coronavirus press conferences?
My only solace after reading this is the certainty that anybody brain-damaged enough to believe Trump is doing a good job is also likely not practicing social distancing, and are therefore far more likely to die from this virus than the rest of us.
I know, I know, that makes me a terrible person, but like that Lt. Governor in Texas I am willing to sacrifice a few lives for the betterment of the country.
