Keep in mind that this is a report from TRUMP’S government. And it still says we’re screwed.

Courtesy of CNN:

A new US government report delivers a dire warning about climate change and its devastating impacts, saying the economy could lose hundreds of billions of dollars — or, in the worst-case scenario, more than 10% of its GDP — by the end of the century.

The federally mandated study was supposed to come out in December but was released by the Trump administration on Friday, at a time when many Americans are on a long holiday weekend, distracted by family and shopping.

David Easterling, director of the Technical Support Unit at the NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information, emphasized that there was “no external interference in the report’s development.” He added that the climate change the Earth is experiencing is unlike any other.

“The global average temperature is much higher and is rising more rapidly than anything modern civilization has experienced, and this warming trend can only be explained by human activities,” Easterling said.

So do you know how they are always saying “no need to panic?”

Well, we are actually several years past the “we need to panic” stage.

Now here’s the thing, I know this topic is not sexy, and that it will not get the same kind of attention that, say a “Bristol Palin is now selling custom-made vibrators on the internet” or “Donald Trump gives speech with his fly unzipped and his little mushroom head penis sticking out” would attract.

But that is really too bad because this issue will absolutely affect your life far more aggressively and negatively than the other two I mentioned.

I know that I have personally been beating on this damn drum for well over a decade hoping that people will respond

So at this point, you are asking, “But what can I do? I am but a lowly individual with no power to stop climate change.”

Yes, that is true, but you can vote for politicians who understand science and support fighting for our environment.

And right now we need them more than ever because we currently have this idiot in the White House.

See, what I mean?

So if you are one of those who wants to avoid reading a story like this, or sharing it with others on social media, you, in fact, are part of the problem.

None of us like to read about this, in fact, I even hate to have to write about this, but it is the most important problem facing us today, and ignoring it obviously will not make it go away.

So in order to do my part to make this post a little more entertaining, I will share this video of a brilliant segment on climate change from the great HBO show Newsweek.

Yeah, I recognize that watching that did not exactly make you feel any better, but to be honest I have no interest in making you feel better.

I, we, need you and everybody to understand how incredibly serious this situation has become.

We only have this one planet, let’s act like it.
