A runner accused of slapping and grabbing the backside of a female reporter during a race in Georgia last weekend was arrested Friday on a misdemeanor charge of sexual battery.

Thomas Callaway, 43, was arrested after turning himself in, Savannah police confirmed to NBC News Saturday. He was released on $1,300 bail.

Online jail records show that he was charged with sexual battery, a misdemeanor in Georgia that is punishable by up to a year in jail.

His attorney declined to comment to the Associated Press.

As it turns out Callaway is a local youth minister, which of course unfortunately makes perfect sense to anybody who recognizes Abrahamic religions as specifically designed to oppress women.

Callaway has apologized for the incident but one has to wonder if he would have bothered if the whole thing were not caught on camera?

I think his arrest may serve to be the most important lesson he teaches any of the kids who attended his youth ministry.

Now they know that it is never okay to sexually assault women.
