Courtesy of The Daily Beast:

Franklin Graham, one of the country’s most influential evangelical Christians, has called on Democratic candidate Pete Buttigieg to “repent” for being gay. Graham, the president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, called homosexuality “something to be repentant of, not something to be flaunted, praised or politicized,” in a tweet Wednesday. At a recent CNN town hall, Buttigieg said to cheers, “God does not have a political party.” Graham responded to the candidate’s statement: “… [Pete Buttigieg] is right—God doesn’t have a political party. But God does have commandments, laws & standards… Mayor Buttigieg says he’s a gay Christian… The Bible says marriage is between a man & a woman—not two men, not two women,” Graham tweeted.

Buttigieg addressed such religious-based criticism during the town hall. “It can be challenging to be a person of faith who’s also part of the LGBTQ community and yet, to me, the core of faith is regard for one another,” Buttigieg said. “… Part of God’s love is experienced, according to my faith tradition, is in the way that we support one another and, in particular, support the least among us.”

Did I mention that Graham is a Trump supporter?

So it is perfectly okay to be a lying pussy grabbing POS, but not okay to love another man?

By the way, keep in mind that Pete Buttigieg was born gay, but Mike Pence chose to be an asshole.

I think Franklin should repent believing in fairy tales. (That Mayor Pete still does is worrisome….)

“Rachel Jeantel took the stand in the murder trial of George Zimmerman”-“Martin told her that a “creepy-ass cracker” was following him.”
“Cracker,” the old standby of Anglo insults was first noted in the mid 18th century, making it older than the United States itself. It was used to refer to poor whites, particularly those inhabiting the frontier regions of Maryland, Virginia and Georgia. It is suspected that it was a shortened version of “whip-cracker,” since the manual labor they did involved driving livestock with a whip (not to mention the other brutal arenas where those skills were employed.) Over the course of time it came to represent a person of lower caste or criminal disposition, (in some instances, was used in reference to bandits and other lawless folk.)
“The meaning of the word has changed a lot over the last four centuries,”
” King John, published sometime in the 1590s. One character refers to another as a craker — a common insult for an obnoxious bloviator.
What craker is this same that deafs our ears with this abundance of superfluous breath?

“”In official documents, the governor of Florida said, ‘We don’t know what to do with these crackers — we tell them to settle this area and they don’t; we tell them not to settle this area and they do,” Ste. Claire said. “They lived off the land. They were rogues.”
By the early 1800s, those immigrants to the South started to refer to themselves that way as a badge of honor and a term of endearment.”
“It was in the late 1800s when writers from the North started referring to the hayseed faction of Southern homesteaders as crackers. “[Those writers] decided that they were called that because of the cracking of the whip when they drove slaves,” Ste. Claire said. But he said that few crackers would have owned slaves; they were generally too poor. (That of course, doesn’t mean they weren’t participants in the South’s slave economy in other ways.)
Ste. Claire said that by the 1940s, the term began to take on yet another meaning in American inner cities in particular: as an epithet for bigoted white folks.”

Someone needs to point out to that other Con Franklin, that Jesus came in fulfillment of the Old Testament to bring a new message (the New Testament), and that message was LOVE. A hard concept for many of those that call themselves Christian. It’s easy to love those that look, talk, believe, and have sex like you. Where the message of LOVE gets hard, and can provide profound change in someone, is when you learn to love and accept those who are different from you. I still say, if Jesus did return today, many of those that call themselves Christian will be the ones to nail him back to the cross. They didn’t listen to the message the first time, they won’t be listening the second time around.

““Megachurches are sort of the face of Christianity right now but specifically a style of mega churches,” Bell said, name-checking Franklin Graham and Joel Osteen as two of the worst examples of the trend.

It’s “personality-driven model of church”, “The pastor says it feels more like a rock concert and a motivational speech.”

The message of Jesus gets muddled, and sometimes completely perverted,” “to tell people to do things and vote for people who Jesus would not vote for.””

Franklin Graham confuses his role as a disciple of Christ with being a commando for evangelism that eschews Christ’s teachings. He wouldn’t be persuaded of any act of contrition by Mayor Pete, short of having Mayor Pete kneeling before him. Surmise as you will.

Fauxknee phucker, fauxknee kristian Graham should undergo forced ritual dis-embowlment for being a fauxknee fauxknee immitation of a human being.

Franklin Graham is a worthless turd. This is a LONG comment.

PART THE FIRST. My mother (1924-2007) is a saint. She is now seated on the right hand of God. She lived in XXXXX and supported several faith-based community organizations with her time, work, and money (lots of money — her charitable donations were around $100,000 per year). She was a big fan of the Graham organization. About three years before she died, a group in her city arranged for Franklin Graham and his traveling circus to come to town for a week of “evangelism.” When she was told how much the Graham crowd wanted and the arrangements they demanded, she closed her checkbook, turned her back on Graham and died very, very disappointed. The short version is that a week of the Graham crowd in her city cost local organizations over $300,000 in fees, limos, food, hotel suites — same as a bunch of rock stars. In her words: “$300,000 would have put a lot of roofs on poor people’s houses.”

PART THE SECOND. After retiring from the Army, I spent several years as director of a faith-based housing ministry in Central Appalachia. My office in West Virginia was staffed by three young women and one young man, all recent college grads. Franklin Graham came to the area to check on one of his charitable organizations and to visit local charities. The afternoon after he arrived and visited my office, the young women called me — they were PISSED!!!! Told me to “COME UP HERE RIGHT NOW!!! IF I SEE THAT FRANKLIN GRAHAM AGAIN I’LL SLAP THE SHIT OUT OF HIM!!!! ” I drove six hours from Nashville to deep WV. The short version is that the young women were VERY upset at Graham — turns out he is an “aggressive hugger,” a “hand-holder,” and in the words of one of the young women — “He rubs up against you in ways my boyfriend is not allowed to.” I had them take a few days off while I entertained Graham . . . who was disappointed to learn the young women were not there when he returned. Later, two other people told me their organizations had the same experience with him.

REMEMBER: Franklin Graham ditched his father’s faith and spent a few years in “riotous living” and chasing skirts. Then, he realized that he was in position to inherit his father’s empire and the $$$$$$ it brings in. He had a Damascus road experience and now is raking in the $$$$.

    He’s a bullshit artist.

“He doesn’t need your permission, doesn’t require your blessing, and isn’t waiting for your approval.

No gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, gender fluid, or non-binary human being is beholden to you or bound by your prejudices or in your debt—and their personal faith convictions aren’t any of your business. You and the misguided zealots who share your heart aren’t the gatekeepers of the kingdom, no matter often you tell yourselves that or how many Bible verses you drop into your increasingly toxic Twitter feeds and incendiary Sunday sermons.” “LGBTQ people who chose to follow Jesus don’t need you—they have Jesus.”

“Pete Buttigieg is one of millions upon millions of people whose Christianity exists perfectly alongside their gender identity and sexual orientation. It’s really that simple. Your Jurassic understanding of human sexuality and your gross misapplication of 4000-year old verses can’t change that reality.”

Mark 2:21-22) 21: “No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment. Otherwise, the new piece will pull away from the old, making the tear worse. 22: And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins.”
