Fox News segment suggests that parents should demand that their schools include the Pledge of Allegiance in their curriculum.

Fox & Friends has been criticized as “state-run tv” due to its fawning and remarkably coordinated coverage of the Trump administration. But Friday morning’s segment dedicated to honoring the Pledge of Allegiance feels like something one might see on the North Korean equivalent to cable news morning show (if such a thing actually existed.)

Hard to describe this bizarre segment in a pithy manner, but is easy to imagine future historians pointing to it as the peak (or nadir) of a larger culture war, the winner of which will determine the outcome.

Featuring James Robbins, author of Erasing America, who warned that some schools are no longer compelling students to take the pledge, which is the dystopian future consistent with gold-coin buying viewers of the conservative morning show.

The segment also, naturally, features host Pete Hegseth posing the classic strawman argument that the American Flag “is seen by some as a dividing or divisive symbol,” before adding that he believes “it should unify.” Shocker that Robbins agreed, just before Hegseth turned to the on-set school children that critics might see as props for this ridiculously jingoist virtue signaling of false patriotism.

“Keep loving this country,” Hegseth told the children.

Nazi propaganda at it’s best.

At one point the host, Pete Hegseth, asks a young girl why the pledge is important to her, and she responds with “Well this is my home, and one of the parts in the pledge of allegiance says that ‘one nation under God’ which teaches me that this is a Christian nation.”

Which of course is the idea behind indoctrination, which is clearly the point of the Pledge of Allegiance.

It’s so much fun to expose all these little Xtianist indoctrinated brats to real history and then watch their heads explode when they reach university. Jefferson and many of the other founders were Deists, thrilled with rationality and science. That phrase wasn’t added until the failed McCarthy era. Science profs have even more fun with the young earthers.

I thought the schools did this anyway. I recall that our grandson was very proud to recite the Pledge of Allegiance over the school public address system to the whole school when he was in the second grade. When I was in high school, we had to read Bible passages in the morning in homeroom. The boys in the class always read OT “begats.” I read the Beatitudes whenever it was my turn. While you stood in the front and read, everyone finished up homework or studied for an upcoming test. I wish Fox News would take up something worthy – like Don the Con’s immature behavior or something we don’t know about yet. Isn’t there a war on Christmas still to be fought?

Call me unpatriotic all you want, but after the NFL kerfuffle over kneeling, Duhkota Meyer, Trump rallies, the South in general, and the outright hypocrisy of ‘leaders,’ I don’t give a rat’s behind about the stupid pledge.
This once great country is circling the toilet headed straight for the sewer.

OT/”Ultras are not exactly the same as soccer hooligans, who are basically just looking for a brawl. The ultras emerged in Italian soccer in the late 1960s and as they have evolved from ultra-fans to ultra-right-wing thugs they’ve tended to focus their hate towards those on the field instead of those supporting rival teams.” “Jones says that the ultras are tolerated because they have become such a powerful group of supporters for many teams. Their potential for violence is also so strong that pacifying them has been a matter of public order. “The ultras receive free tickets, jobs within the grounds and political support because the force of their numbers is so great, and the threat of public disorder ever-present,” he says. “By now, all the major curves or terraces of Italian stadiums are dominated by neo-fascist groups which have become criminal gangs, repeatedly involved in drug-dealing and violence.”

Sure ok. Loyalty to Country not to crook, liar or party. FOX no news should pledge allegiance at the beginning of each segment and also recite the definition of “TRAITOR AND TREASON” the network is one step from communism and Russian propaganda network..

The Queen Pirro flapping fish lips can lead the pledge of allegiance and report that “the wall” will be complete on January 3rd, 2019. The builder, Mr. Mueller and the American People will dedicate soon after.

Fox NO news is bad media history and its all down hill. Memo to trump……YOUR FIRED, GET OUT.

““Nobody at my school wanted to form a club with me,” “So I decided to go online.” Sosa, 18, met another teen through Instagram who now helps her run the account. She posts about three things per day, and each gets thousands of likes and hundreds of comments.
Many appear on Instagram’s “Explore” page to help users discover new content. ”
““I was just really upset with the election and what happened surrounding it,” Ward said. “I just kind of wanted a place to let out all of my political anger.”

One interesting aspect of these accounts is that they’re only on Instagram.”

We always started the day in school with the pledge, of course back then, boys/men were also told that gentlemen don’t wear their hats indoors.

It is state law in Michigan. Students say it everyday to the voice over the PA.

Except the god part was added later during the red scare for all loyal Americans to prove they weren’t godless commies. Soon we won’t be required to prove that we’re not godless commies but that we are Trump loyalists.
