Former Trump campaign adviser, George Papadopoulos, is running for the seat left open by the resignation of Katie Hill after a smear campaign that included nude photos.

Oh hell no!

George Papadopoulos, Trump’s former campaign adviser and a convicted felon, is running for Congress. According to a Tuesday FEC filing, Papadopoulos is running to replace Rep. Katie Hill (D-CA) following her resignation earlier this week after allegations of affairs with staffers and the publication of nude pictures of the lawmaker. “Former foreign policy advisor to President Trump and author George Papadopoulos is now running to put California’s 25th Congressional District seat back in Republican hands,” reads a statement on Papadopoulos’ newly minted campaign website. “Help fight back against Democrat corruption by joining George’s campaign today!” Papadopoulos spent 12 days in federal prison last year after pleading guilty to making false statements to the FBI during its investigation into possible collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign in 2016. He was placed under 12-month supervision after his release in December, a provision still in place as he launches his campaign.

Wait, how can a convicted felon even run for Congress?

It also appears that Papadopolous knew that Hill was about to be forced out of office before she did.

Yeah, methinks this whole thing was worked out well in advance.

I don’t know who the Democrats are going to choose to run for Hill’s abandoned seat but I would not think they should have much a problem beating a former Trump campaign adviser who spent time in prison.

You know what I mean?

He’s just running to raise funds. There is no chance in Hell he could win.

    He’ll never win.

    He’s a felon. He’s a carpetbagger. He’s a Trump supporter.

Katie just turned her district Blue. Even the Republicans in her district won’t vote for Felon George. Republicans in California are a bit different than those in the rest of the country. Not all of them but enough to make a difference. If this was the Republican plan all along, then they wasted their time, plus damaged their credibility to boot.

One thing about the Trump crew is they are all out grifterswith no shame. I see Dunleavy went crying to Trump for protection. Effing wussy. The great state of Alaska deserves better. But unfortunately for us we have all those people from redneck states living here.

So in some states, you can get five years in prison, becuase you try to vote wile on probation, thinking you are doign your civic duty. Yet a Repugnant felon is supported by the ReTHUGlican party in a run for office. Yeah this country is certainly upfucked.

WASHINGTON (AP) — California freshman congresswoman Katie Hill says she’s resigning because of a double standard.

The Democrat told the House in her farewell speech Thursday that she’s leaving while men accused of “intentional acts of sexual violence” sit in the nation’s highest offices. And she took shots at a husband she says was abusive and conservative operatives she says published photos of her that were taken without her knowledge or consent.

Hill added, “I’m leaving because of a misogynistic culture that gleefully consumed my naked pictures (and) capitalized on my sexuality.” Hill identifies as bisexual.

She admitted to a relationship with a female campaign aide but denied an affair with a male congressional staff member, which would violate House rules. The House Ethics committee had opened a probe into the allegation.
