Former New York mayor Michael Bloomberg prepares to jump into 2020 presidential race.

Why?

Courtesy of NYT:

Michael R. Bloomberg is actively preparing to enter the Democratic presidential primary and is expected to file paperwork this week designating himself as a candidate in at least one state with an early filing deadline, people briefed on Mr. Bloomberg’s plans said.

Mr. Bloomberg, the former New York City mayor and billionaire businessman, has been privately weighing a bid for the White House for weeks and has not yet made a final decision on whether to run, an adviser said. But in the first sign that he is seriously moving toward a campaign, Mr. Bloomberg has dispatched staffers to Alabama to gather signatures to qualify for the primary there. Though Alabama does not hold an early primary, it has a Friday deadline for candidates to formally enter the race.

Mr. Bloomberg and his advisers called a number of prominent Democrats on Thursday to tell them he was seriously considering the race, including former Senator Harry Reid of Nevada, the retired majority leader who remains a dominant power broker in the early caucus state. Aides to Mr. Bloomberg also reached out to Gov. Gina Raimondo of Rhode Island, the chair of the Democratic Governors Association.

Mr. Reid said in a brief interview that Mr. Bloomberg had not explicitly said he was running for president but that the implication of the call had been clear.

I cannot think of too many things we need less right now than to have another billionaire inserting themselves into our nomination process.

I would not be at all surprised if this decision was directly inspired by Elizabeth Warren’s rise in the polls, and Bloomberg’s fear that he may have to pay some real taxes in the near future.

I am sick and tired of these arrogant assholes who think they have to ride in on their white horses to save all of us from ourselves with their vast wealth and superegos.

I wouldn’t worry about him too much. He’s not tall enough to see over the top of the podium. I think that’s a presidential requirement.

Gryphen. Elizabeth Warren does not stand a chance.

She is not going to be President.

She is a hater of the American dream and promotes Venezuela economics. She believes in Government taking over corporations.

You know the best way to go broke? Let the government sloth run your company.

Most Democrats are too smart to vote for that.

Right Wing trolls should not hurt their tiny little brains trying to understand how Democrats think.

Uh huh. Okay Gryphen. I guess I’ll just be right… again… and have to remind you of that when it becomes reality for you in the future.

Don’t worry there is always Russian to blame when Warren fails. Maddow will lay it all out for you poor fools to believe.

We’re all forced to be anonymous here due to personal attacks by trolls hiding behind “anonymous” because real names and registration is not required, “real name”.

You probable don’t even know where Venezuela is, let alone what their economics are. just promoting the weekly GOP talking points, which must send out a weekly memo to all the flying monkeys to spread.

Whereas the Republicans would like to practice Bolivian politics, where they took a mayor out, cut her hair and painted her red and dragged her through the streets. Because their party lost the election.

Isn’t that what Trump and his ‘tards threaten? “If we lose there will be a civil war.” They won’t stop until the U.S. is a Fascist one party state with their party in charge. After-all, that is what gerrymandering is all about.

Meanwhile Trump is stocking the courts with lifetime appointments that are unqualified, yet McConnell and the Republicans keep pushing them through asap. We’ll be suffering their decisions for decades to come.

Warren doesn’t have enough backers to win this. And no you don’t have to be a right wing troll to have a difference of opinion. We need better choices. No one is excited like they were about Obama, or Clinton or Kennedy. We can’t win this without it. And… fuck all ya who can’t discuss differences without acting like a cult.

Bloomberg Offers Trump Ten Billion Dollars to Leave White House by End of Day.

The former New York City mayor also told Trump that he would cover the moving expenses of Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, and Kellyanne Conway.

    By Andy Borowitz

(Sounds like a better use of his money than throwing it away on a pointless presidential campaign.)

Bill Maher made a similar offer. Trump thinks he can make more money siphoning off tax dollars playing golf. Of course, he also thinks he can win as many terms as he wants and be president for life.

According to John Dickerson (CBS) the DNC wants Bloomberg (a moderate) to run to pick up the slack of Biden (moderate) since they don’t think Biden is doing well.

And why Trump will win a second term.

The Electoral College did not do their job in 2016. No reason to think they’ll do any better in the future.

Maybe they should stop forcing their picks down the voter’s throats and let the PEOPLE decide?

America has a corporate income tax problem. 60 of America’s biggest corporations paid no federal income taxes in 2018. I doubt Bloomberg would try and ruffle the feathers of all those rich CEO’s or their corporations.
