Well, here we are, folks, at the start of what could be the most important election night of our lives.

I don’t know about you but I am on pins and needles.

Click HERE to visit the CNN site where you can get live updates.

Click HERE to visit the MSNBC site for the same.

Click HERE to visit the Five-Thirty-Eight website.

(I was going to include a link to Fox News, but then I remembered that we only wanted factual reporting, and left it off.)

Unfortunately, we will likely not get closure tonight, as a number of polls quite late and there is guaranteed to be challenges to the results no matter how they skew.

It will be a very long night for most of us, and perhaps a long day tomorrow, and possibly a long week after that.

If you voted today, or earlier this week, thank you.

If you didn’t fuck you and get the hell off my website.

This is not a game, this is for the future of our country, of our families, and or generations to come.

And not one bit of that is hyperbole.

So let’s sit back folks, grab your favorite beverage, and let’s see if our fellow citizens woke up and did the right thing.

Updates are on the way.

Update: Jennifer Wexton has just flipped the 10th district in Virginia to the Democrats.

That is the first flipped seat thus far.

Update 2:  Donna Shalala flipped Florida district 27 for the Dems. That is the second House pickup of the night for the Democrats.

Update 3: So far the incumbent Democrats have held onto all of the Senate seats that have been decided for the night. So far.

Update 4: The Republicans have flipped their first Senate seat with Mike Braun defeating Joe Donnelly in Indiana.

Update 5: Here is a little more good news tonight.

I did not even know that this race was happening, but I am thrilled to see this homophobic bitch get thrown out on her ass.

Update 6: I am losing confidence in Florida. It looks like the Republicans are going to win both the Senate seat and the Governor’s race.

I hope something happens to change that, but I am not optimistic.

Still holding out hope for Beto in Texas, however.

Update 7: Jared Polis is the projected winner in the Colorado governor’s race, first openly gay male to win a governorship in America.

Update 8: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has also won the 14th congressional district in New York, by a huge margin. Not sure that any of us should be surprised by this, however.

Update 9: Kris Kobach, the guy who Trump tapped to run his bullshit voter fraud commission, has lost his bid to be governor of Kansas to the female Democratic candidate. This is big!

Update 10: Heidi Heitkamp has lost her Senate seat in North Dakota. That is a shame.

Update 11: Ted Cruz is projected to beat Beto O’Rourke in Texas. Well, that is just heartbreaking. We had such high hopes.

For the last update of the night, we now know that the Republicans will retain control of the Senate and the Democrats are now projected to gain control of the House.

So yeah, we had a blue wave. It just was not the blue tsunami that so many of us were hoping to see.

But moving forward Trump is going to have a MUCH harder time screwing up this country. I expect the first congressional subpoenas to be issued on the first day that the Dems take control of Congress.

First good news of the night:
First Democratic flip of the night: Guam governor!

As far as wins go, it’s a pretty small-scale one, but a win is a win! Democrat Lou Leon Guerrero has been elected as the first woman governor of the territory of Guam, ending 16 straight years of Republican control of that office……..

    • Anonymous November 6, 2018 at 3:50 pm

DING! Bye bye, Calvo, Trump butt kisser. Not that it helped him any…..

  2. Anonymous November 6, 2018 at 3:39 pm

If Knute Buehler wins Oregon governor, I will gag!
Also kiss my pension goodbye after 29 years.

  3. Anonymous November 6, 2018 at 4:01 pm

8 pm EST … here we go folks!!!

I am keeping my fingers crossed that the big lost tonight is Raffael Cruz and I don’t live in TX

    • Anonymous November 6, 2018 at 4:14 pm

PLEASE, Texas, come to your senses!

    • Charlotte November 6, 2018 at 4:41 pm

Me too. I’m in NC but I’m so hopeful for a Beto win!

  4. Anonymous November 6, 2018 at 4:42 pm

When does the public meltdown ceremony begin?

  5. Anonymous November 6, 2018 at 4:43 pm

Give me a heart attack, ABC is reporting John James (R) is ahead in MI for senate, turns out only 1 precinct is reporting

    • Anonymous November 6, 2018 at 5:15 pm

I have this very bad feeling we are going to lose the Democratic senate seat in MI

      • anonymous November 6, 2018 at 5:32 pm

Me, too. I had no Dem. to vote for in the Primary. Guy was disqualified because he put his PO box in the ad, instead of his street address. Lots of us Yoopers don’t have street/road/2 track mail delivery. To me it should have been an easy web page update, but the guy was out. I’m sure there’s a plan in place to make MI solid red. Shoulda gone to Canada when I had the chance. Sigh.

      • Anonymous November 6, 2018 at 7:26 pm

Politico just declared Debbie Stabenow, senator (D) the winner !!!!! Thank the voters, I don’t think I could stand 6 years of the smug face of the helicopter pilot, 2000% behind trump James taking her seat.

    • Anonymous November 6, 2018 at 6:04 pm

Looks like Politico declared Whitmer (D) winner for Governor in MI…

    • Anonymous November 6, 2018 at 6:40 pm

Debbie is up to 53% … fingers crossed.

  6. Anonymous November 6, 2018 at 5:12 pm

Well there certainly isn’t any blue wave, but it seems like the republicans aren’t winning by a lot.

  7. White Rabbit November 6, 2018 at 5:13 pm

Right on Gryph. Fuck off if you don’t vote.

  8. Anonymous November 6, 2018 at 5:27 pm

I totally forgot about Kim Davis, too! Yee HAH!
O/T: Go see Bohemian Rhapsody if you’re a true Queen fan.

  9. Maria in NM November 6, 2018 at 6:01 pm

My nerves are a wreck, but I am toughing it out on MSNBC.

    I wouldn’t believe them..

‘Heads are exploding’: Chris Wallace reacts after Fox News calls House for Democrats early on election night

    • Anonymous November 6, 2018 at 6:31 pm

As disappointing as some outcomes are, me on the west coast, may I say that I cannot stand Chris Wallace.
He is certainly not his father, Such as pansy ass.

  11. Gryphen November 6, 2018 at 6:21 pm

I should say that Beto O’Rourke losing to Ted Cruz tonight is disappointing, but the guy got to about a percentage point of beating him, and that is huge in Texas.

I really don’t think this is the last we have heard from Beto O’Rourke. By any means.

    • Anonymous November 6, 2018 at 6:39 pm

      recount time??

    • Anonymous November 6, 2018 at 8:25 pm

Look at the counties that Beto won, he took all the counties along the border, doesn’t that say something.

  12. Anonymous November 6, 2018 at 6:24 pm

Hahahahahahaha! Kim Davis loses her cushy $80,000/year job.

“At the same debate, Caudill said if elected he would treat everyone equally because he took an oath to uphold the law.

Caudill criticized Davis for hiring her son to work for her. Davis defended the hiring, saying her son is someone she can trust to oversee human resources and handle the office computers.”

Hahahahahaha! Maybe Rowan County will finally abolish nepotism.

  13. Anonymous November 6, 2018 at 6:41 pm

What is happening with the dinosaur, old geezer in AK?

  14. Anonymous November 6, 2018 at 7:21 pm

I must say the Democrats sure did give the GOP a run for their money (or was it Putin’s) 🙂 Although we lost, in many races it was a lot closer than predicted. I sure wish they would stop conceding so early though, let the republicans sweat it out.

  15. Anonymous November 6, 2018 at 7:45 pm

We also elected a Democrat woman as governor
Michigan Voters Strip Lawmakers Of Redistricting Power

An independent commission will now be responsible for drawing state legislative and congressional lines after partisan gerrymandering.

Mixed emotions. Stoked to have won the House, but really bummed about Florida, Texas, North Dakota etc.

    • Anonymous November 6, 2018 at 9:25 pm

but just think how hard it was to win the house with all the gerrymandering.

Ak. polls closed at 8. So in another two hours we should know if that old geezer is still in. My bet is it’s gonna be a close one. Lotsa red necks up here. They are the one that are causing all this divide. Because their god the golden calf in the white house sends the message they have been harbouring in their chest for so long.

    The House is back.

Now let’s get a reboot of Airwolf.

PS. Eat my ass, Davis. First let me eat a bowl of beans though.

Walker loses WI,the rust belt looks awfully blue!

  21. Beaglemom November 7, 2018 at 3:33 am

It’s Wednesday morning, most results in Michigan are very good BUT the First Congressional District where I live remains in GOP hands. Our re-elected member of Congress legally resides in Louisiana, refuses to meet with constituents, regularly votes against the interests of the vast majority of Americans but he won — anyway. His opponent was a superb candidate, traveled all over our very large district and met with all kinds of people but it was impossible to shake the gerrymandered GOP control here.

I saw the unfortunate Alaskan House result first — you have doddering Don Young again — before I saw what happened where I live. I understand how many of you Alaskans feel this morning. How can voters vote against their best interests again and again?

You have your doddering idiot and we still have a Congressman devoted to ending Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid because he doesn’t believe in “entitlements” although he collects lots of them as a retired almost-general in the Marine Corps and who prefers to live in Louisiana because he doesn’t like snow. Oh, well. At least the Democrats control the House now.

In Michigan, we did agree to end gerrymandering but I’m not sure how we’ll do that if we Democrats do not control the Legislature and we did vote to bring back straight party voting and to introduce early voting and, I think, election day registration. I’ll have to check more results but I was so sad that we lost such good potential when Democrat Matt Morgan was defeated by our non-resident carpetbagger, Jack Bergman.

    • Anonymous November 7, 2018 at 6:10 am

We will end gerrymandering in MI because it will be an independent committee that decides and no longer the politicians. I don’t know what went on with the vote counting last night, even the local news said it was very slow, but yes we did very well. Democrats won governorship, attorney general, secretary of state and the Senate. Also in my area, we are sending at least 5 democratic women to the house!!!

Also notice that the rust belt has turned blue with PA, OH, WI and MI !!!

I didn’t think you could legally reside in another state and run for office, I know the republicans made a big to do about two candidates for the house that had lived in D.C. because of work and have returned to MI.

      • Anonymous November 7, 2018 at 7:34 am

        oops, OH didn’t go blue

the good news from last night was the democrats took the popular vote again by a large margin. bad news is trump could win in 2020, lose the popular vote but win electoral college.

    • Anonymous November 7, 2018 at 6:43 am

Michigan voters ban GOP gerrymandering by creating an independent redistricting commission
…The proposed reform will create a 13-member commission with four Democrats, four Republicans, and five non-major-party members. The secretary of state will solicit applications to serve on the commission, review them, and prepare demographically and geographically representative random samples of 30 for each major party and 40 for the other applicants. Each of the four legislative leaders will be able to remove five applicants from each pool, but they won’t be able to select members: Once they’ve made their objections, the secretary of state randomly picks from the remainder.

Importantly, this commission requires that at least two commissioners from each group agree to any map. Furthermore, these multi-partisan proposals must meet specific criteria, including: compliance with the Voting Rights Act; geographic contiguity; preserving communities of interest; partisan fairness; not favoring or disfavoring a particular candidate or incumbent; keeping counties, cities, and townships whole; and compactness……

Aw, Gryph, please don’t paint us all with the same brush. My husband and I have never missed an election but were unable to vote yesterday because we both had the stomach flu. We could not leave the house. Early voting for me next time for sure. Most of the people I would have voted for won so I am happy. My husband votes the other way. I am thrilled that the Dems got control of the House again. I hope you forgive me. I will not be leaving your website.

DEAD Dennis Hof WAS a”brothel-owning, evangelical Christian-backed Republican candidate who died last month BUT WON…
He had nicknamed himself the “Trump from Pahrump,” “This really is the Trump movement,” Hof said. “People will set aside for a moment their moral beliefs, their religious beliefs, to get somebody that is honest in office.”

“Chuck Muth, Hof’s campaign manager, was one of many who predicted last month that Hof would win>“I know Republicans in Nevada got massacred tonight, but my man Dennis Hof crushed his opponent from the great beyond in AD-36 & we crushed the anti-brothel initiative in Lyon County by about 80%,” “So pardon me, but I’m celebrating.”

“The thrice-divorced author of “The Art of the Pimp,” who appeared on HBO’s “Cathouse,” owned a strip club and five legal brothels in Nevada, the only U.S. state with legalized prostitution.”

The website, which claimed to provide the “Official Statement of the Internet Research Agency,” went live over the weekend. It was created by Azimut LLC, one of the LLCs mentioned in Mueller’s February 2018 indictment identifying a number of Russian nationals as responsible for Russia’s 2016 social media interference campaign.
On Tuesday evening, the website published an additional statement. “Facebook and intelligence agencies tried to stop us but they only managed to uncover 1/25 of the whole picture,” the page read. The page then listed dozens of Instagram accounts…
Some claimed to be in support of feminists (“Feminism, Inc.”) while others aimed at LGBTQ communities (“LGBTQ Daily”).
The pages spanned the political spectrum. Many were aimed at conservatives, with pages like “F U Libtards,” “Against Libtards,” and “Ladies, Booze and Firearms.”
One, for instance, was called “Outraged Patriot,” and appeared aimed at supporters of Donald Trump:
also aimed at Democrats and liberals, with pages like “New Blue Wave” now taken down.
One, “People Speak,” targeted those opposing racism, with a bio reading “Smash White Supremacy.” The page took particular interest in those supportive of socialism and antifa.
Another page, “Black Business,” claimed to post material related to African-American business accomplishments.
“We support #blackdollar and celebrate #blackexcellence and #blackhistory,” the account’s bio read. Other similar pages were “Black Roots,” “Black Boy Joy,” and “Black Nation.”
One account now removed, “Republican Man Cave,” had nearly 10,000 followers, posting only pro-Trump material, while
“MAGA People” managed to land over 20,000 followers. Another account taken down, “Intersectional Feminism,” had nearly 4,000 followers. (The page’s bio: “We all have a Wonder Woman inside us.”)
A second page aimed at feminists, “Feminism 4Ever,” had even more, with nearly 28,000 followers.
Another popular page was “ProBlack Afrocentrism,” which also appeared to aim at African-Americans. With a #BlackLivesMatter hashtag in its bio and the Black Panther as its profile picture, the page racked up some 12,500 followers. The page, “Dope Blackness,” had even more, with over 35,000 following.
the most popular account was dedicated to a comedian: John Oliver.
The “John Oliver Explains” account is the only page thus far identified that had over 100,000 followers.

  28. Trump is grumpy today November 7, 2018 at 8:34 am

Holy crap. Trump is throwing a public fit. Treating the media like a classroom. Poor bastard doesn’t realize that he is the child in the room. $poiled brat.
