During interview with Reuters Donald Trump claims that he could “run” the Muller investigation if he wanted to.

So he thinks he could take over an investigation into his own possibly illegal behaviors?

Courtesy of Reuters:

Trump asserted that he retained the power to intervene in the probe, but that he had chosen not to do so for the moment.

His administration, Trump said, was “a smooth-running machine, except in that world. And I’ve decided to stay out. Now I don’t have to stay out.

“I can go in, and I could do whatever — I could run it if I want. But I decided to stay out,” he said. “I’m totally allowed to be involved if I wanted to be. So far, I haven’t chosen to be involved. I’ll stay out.”

This is not only completely unprecedented but if Trump attempted to do this it would clearly be an obstruction of justice.

The very fact that he would say something like this demonstrates how unhinged this man has become.

Trump also echoed Giuliani’s concerns that Mueller was setting a perjury trap for him:

The president expressed fears that investigators could compare his statements with that of others who have testified in the probe, such as former FBI Director James Comey, and that any discrepancies could be used against him.

“So if I say something and he (Comey) says something, and it’s my word against his, and he’s best friends with Mueller, so Mueller might say: ‘Well, I believe Comey,’ and even if I’m telling the truth, that makes me a liar. That’s no good.”

So Trump does not see this as a truth versus untruth scenario, but rather one where friendship dictates who is believed and who is not.

During the interview, Trump also claimed that he had not considered revoking Robert Mueller’s security clearance, which I doubt to be true, and blamed the investigation for interfering in his plan to strengthen America’s relationship with Russia.

Yeah, I bet.

Let “Mr. blow hard” try and see what happens, I am so sick of this loony . half of the crap he rants about never happens, it is just more bullying to make himself feel good. gosh he even wanted to take Obama’s security clearance away, too bad someone stopped him, maybe people would have woken up to this nut case earlier if he had gone through with his threat.

instead here is an article about someone that understood what being a president is all about:

GLF “Great Leap Forward” ” The world order that Washington built after World War II rested upon what I’ve called a “delicate duality”: an American imperium of raw military and economic power married to a community of sovereign nations, equal under the rule of law and governed through international institutions such as the United Nations and the World Trade Organization.
On the realpolitik side of that duality, Washington constructed a four-tier apparatus — military, diplomatic, economic, and clandestine”

“Michael Cohen’s attorneys and federal prosecute ers, and that a deal on a potential guilty plea could be reached as early as this afternoon. I feel glad Trump said what a “perjury trap” is which is another smear they made up to see if it would stick like mud on the inverstigators. Trump’s statements remind me of how three year olds perceive the world. He is so desperate he will say anything and is out of control ramping up conning people he is the good guy who is a victim of corrupt unjust persecution projecting his misdeeds, malice and crimes.

Jeebus T.Rump is stoopid. “So if I say something and he (Comey) says something, and it’s my word against his, and he’s best friends with Mueller, so Mueller might say: ‘Well, I believe Comey,’ and even if I’m telling the truth, that makes me a liar. That’s no good.”
Wring, if you say no and Comey says yes, it’s just your word about his. But my guess is what T.Rump is worried about is McGahn’s corroboration of Comey, because McGahn has likely testified that on (date) the president called me and said he had had a conversation with Mr. Comey and he asked me what I thought about what he told Comey, which was “I told him to stop going after Flynn.” ANd then if Cohen corroborates…

Elliot Broidy is now under investigation for trying to sell his influence with the president.

    Only the best people.

One has to question how such a saintly, innocent man could surround himself with criminals his entire life. Nice criminals. Only the best criminals.

Cohen has already cut a deal and squealed. Will Broidy be far behind?

    Most corrupt administration ever.

And that emoluments lawsuit will be moving forward. I imagine a lot of this is going to peak during the 2020 campaign. Good luck to Republicans running. If the Democrats were smart they’d tar them all with this brush. (But of course they’re not and they’ll go high themselves into losing. Again.)
