Just like the flu is never gone forever.

White House coronavirus advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci said Wednesday it is unlikely the coronavirus will ever be eradicated.
While the virus will not disappear, it’s possible world leaders and public health officials could work to bring the virus down to “low levels,” the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases said during an interview with the TB Alliance.
“I think with a combination of good public health measures, a degree of global herd immunity and a good vaccine, which I do hope and feel cautiously optimistic that we will get, I think when we put all three of those together, we will get control of this, whether it’s this year or next year. I’m not certain,” he said.
But, he added, “I don’t really see us eradicating it.”
Of course, this statement is a direct contrast to the one that Trump keeps putting out that says soon the virus will simply disappear.
But who are you going to believe, the man who has been dealing with infectious disease his entire adult life or the guy who keeps bragging that he aced a cognitive test by identifying a horsie?
Microsoft founder Bill Gates also has some troubling news about vaccines.

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates said Wednesday that people could need multiple doses of a potential coronavirus vaccine to immunize themselves from the coronavirus. If necessary, the multiple doses could require more than 7 billion vaccinations to be administered worldwide.
“None of the vaccines at this point appear like they’ll work with a single dose,” Gates said. “That was the hope at the very beginning.”
“If what you’re trying to do is block all the transmission, then you need to get 70-80% coverage on a global basis. So it’s unbelievably big numbers,” he said.
Gates, who has been warning about the threat of a global pandemic since 2015, admitted that “there will be a lot of uncertainty” about the efficacy of any vaccine, but stressed that it’s a solution “that will improve over time.”
Gates has donated 300 million to help fight this disease which is more than some countries have ponied up.
The bottom line is that anybody who is counting on this thing simply blowing over is lying to themselves.
This is our new normal, get used to it.
