Donald Trump wants to do away with the 14th Amendment, birthright citizenship, through executive order.

Trump told “Axios on HBO” that he has run the idea of ending birthright citizenship by his counsel and plans to proceed with the highly controversial move, which certainly will face legal challenges.

“It was always told to me that you needed a constitutional amendment. Guess what? You don’t,” Trump said, declaring he can do it by executive order.

When told that’s very much in dispute, Trump replied: “You can definitely do it with an Act of Congress. But now they’re saying I can do it just with an executive order.”

“We’re the only country in the world where a person comes in and has a baby, and the baby is essentially a citizen of the United States … with all of those benefits,” Trump continued. “It’s ridiculous. It’s ridiculous. And it has to end.” (More than 30 countries, most in the Western Hemisphere, provide birthright citizenship.)

“It’s in the process. It’ll happen … with an executive order.”

Keep in mind that Trump is still fanning the flames of fear and anger toward immigrants only a couple of days after a man perpetrated the largest mass shooting against the Jewish community in American history because he thought they were funding a migrant caravan.

This is the kind of hateful rhetoric that costs lives.

And what’s more, he simply cannot do what he claims he can do.

President Donald Trump has “zero authority” to end birthright citizenship unilaterally, legal and immigration experts say, with one immigration lawyer describing his plan to do so via executive order as a “Hail Mary” meant to garner support ahead of next week’s midterm elections.

Trump is essentially lying again while counting on the fact that his followers are too ignorant to fact check him.

And sadly enough he is undoubtedly correct.

As usual, Don the Con has his historical and constitutional facts wrong (lacks the history instinct, I guess) but it is beyond horrible for a president of the United States to make such a statement. He continues to push his nasty, evil agenda to rile up the crazies who support him. Don the Con is totally incapable of being a leader.

Change Course…Shocked at how ‘how big’ and ‘how quickly’ the protest against Trump’s visit grew.
Protestors are setting up food. This is intended not just as a protest, but a public shiva.

“We’re sitting shiva as part of the grieving process for the eleven victims of the mass shooting.
We want to respect the Jewish tradition of mourning,”

“Rucker noted that the rejection would sting, because of Trump’s obsession with being “greeted with respect.”

“He made such a big deal about President Obama going overseas when sometimes the red carpet wasn’t rolled out to him,” Rucker said. “He’s now going to Pittsburgh without any carpet at all.”

Trump could hear the thousands of protesters down the street as he showed up unwanted and uninvited to the scene of the synagogue shooting.

Trump didn’t come to Pittsburgh to heal and unite. He came for his own selfish reasons of trying to get some good press. That’s why Donald Trump wasn’t welcomed in Pittsburgh today. Trump is part of the problem, and divisive presence only made a day of grief more difficult for the city of Pittsburgh.

So for over 20yrs trump has sold condos for cash to pregnant Russian and Chinese women to give birth and gain citizenship and now he reverses because he is caught by the investigation of being a nasty dirty lying scum bucket and cheating America.

“I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that ending birthright citizenship is a cornerstone of white nationalism”

    “Land ‘O Lakes drops King”
“These companies are still financially supporting Steve King, despite his racist comments and ties to white supremacists”

Let’s not forget that Don the Con has made mucho bucks over the years selling apartments to wealthy Russians who come to the U.S. to give birth to babies here so they will get American citizenship. Of course, they’re not brown people, so maybe they’ll get a special exemption. Gotta protect that bottom line, eh, Donnie?

Where are Melanoma’s (aka the third “wife) immigration papers???
Is young Barron (“John Barron”s spawn) an “anchor baby”???

  7. Anonymous October 30, 2018 at 3:24 pm

he is good at tearing down bridges that people have fought and died for. lets see if he has a game plan other then just serving his facsist needs.

  8. AK Lynne October 30, 2018 at 5:40 pm

Of course, Trump and four out of five of his kids are children of immigrants. He can start there. Tiffany, Marla’s daughter, is the only one who isn’t an anchor baby..daddy’s unfavorite child.

    • Anonymous October 30, 2018 at 6:34 pm

yes, but they already are citizens so he doesn’t care about that, just like his supporters over look the fact that his wife can’t speak English properly and his daughter and son in law are Jewish.

      • Anonymous October 30, 2018 at 7:30 pm

Sounds like you are the one that has a problem with jews 6:34, not Trump or his supporters.

        • Anonymous October 31, 2018 at 4:56 am

          Nice try @ 7:30

    • Anonymous October 31, 2018 at 3:38 pm

Not only would his children be ineligible for citizenship, but Don the Con would also be ineligible since his mother was not a citizen when he was born. We won’t even get into the republican Senators, like Ted Cruz, that also would not be citizens.

Also his grandfather that ran the whore house in Canada must have entered the US illegally because he would never pass the “good character test”.

  9. Anonymous October 30, 2018 at 6:16 pm

    an Lynne. spot on.

  10. Anonymous October 30, 2018 at 6:32 pm

So little donnie thinks he can change the Constitution, well again he is wrong. Another reason to vote out the republicans in Congress.

Next he will try and eliminate the 19th amendment because women don’t love him. Ladies get out and vote before trump and company take that away.

Miss Lindsey is already working on a bill to change 14 amendment, they could just add in the 19th in small print, nobody reads these bills before voting on them anyway.

  11. Anonymous October 30, 2018 at 7:00 pm

I would love for a journalist is ask the russians coming to the USA to have babies on your properties will no longer be eligible for citizenship or are you planning on putting a clause in to give them an exemption?

Want to see what a whopper of a lie trump comes up with to deny it.

    • Beaglemom October 31, 2018 at 10:41 am

No reporter will ask Don the Con that kind of direct question. They seem to fear losing “access” even if the kind of “access” they are given means that they can never ask a pointed question or ask a follow-up question that might catch Don the Con up in one or more of his lies.

  12. Beaglemom October 31, 2018 at 2:56 am

This is Don the Con’s most dastardly idea to date. How many American citizens whose parents came her from foreign countries seeking a better life for children, including those not yet born, are now among our scientists, Nobel Prize winners, leading artists or writers or actors and on and on. Has he really no idea what the Statue of Liberty means and has meant all these years?

  13. Anon October 31, 2018 at 6:35 am

“It is not covered by the 14th Amendment because of the words ‘subject to the jurisdiction thereof.’
Many legal scholars agree…..” Trump wrote in a Twitter post.
