Billions of dollars are sent to the State of California for Forest fires that, with proper Forest Management, would never happen. Unless they get their act together, which is unlikely, I have ordered FEMA to send no more money. It is a disgraceful situation in lives & money!

Donald Trump says he has ordered the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to stop sending money to the State of California to help the state deal with deadly forest fires “unless they get their act together”.
Mr. Trump claimed in a tweet that California’s mismanagement of forests has led to dangerous situations in which wildfires can quickly build into massive and unwieldy blazes, in an apparent reference to last year’s deadly Camp Fire in the state.
“Billions of dollars are sent to the State of California for Forrest fires that, with proper Forrest Management, would never happen”, Mr. Trump wrote in a tweet that was later replaced with one spelling “forest” correctly.
He continued: “Unless they get their act together, which is unlikely, I have ordered FEMA to send no more money. It is a disgraceful situation in lives & money!”
In response, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi — who represents a California congressional district — said that Mr. Trump’s tweets are an insult to the people who died last year during the fires.
“Proper forest management.” Does that mean Trump still thinks they should be raking the forests?
And what in the hell does “Get their act together” even mean?
I think Trump is still mad that so many votes for Hillary came out of California, and that he would legitimately consider punishing the whole state for refusing to acquiesce to his will.
But threatening to hold this money back from people who are suffering from such a terrible disaster is simply inhumane.
