If there is nothing to worry about, why is he so worried?

President Trump signed an $8.3 billion emergency spending bill to confront the coronavirus outbreak on Friday morning but at the last minute scrapped plans to visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, forgoing a chance to tour the nerve center of the government’s response to the health crisis.
As late as nearly 9 p.m. on Thursday, Vice President Mike Pence publicly indicated that the trip was still on, telling reporters traveling with him to Washington State that the president would formally approve the spending measure while at the centers. “President Trump is expected to sign the legislation tomorrow as he visits the C.D.C. in Atlanta,” Mr. Pence said.
By 11:30 p.m., when the White House issued the president’s public schedule, however, the visit was no longer on the calendar. The White House gave conflicting explanations on Friday morning. A White House official initially said the president canceled the visit because he did not want to interfere with the work at the centers as its staff scrambled to get a grip on the virus. But then Mr. Trump told reporters it was called off because of a suspected case of coronavirus at the C.D.C. itself.
As he signed the spending bill at the White House, Mr. Trump said the report of an infection at C.D.C. turned out to be negative. “So I may be going,” he told reporters. “We’re going to see if they can turn it around.”
Gee, it only took him a couple of days to go from suggesting that it was all a hoax, to hiding under his desk in fear.
This funding bill will be very helpful but amke no mistake the Trump Administration is still playing catch up.

The Trump administration won’t be able to meet its promised timeline of having a million coronavirus tests available by the end of the week, senators said after a briefing from health officials.
“There won’t be a million people to get a test by the end of the week,” Republican Senator Rick Scott of Florida said in Washington Thursday. “It’s way smaller than that. And still, at this point, it’s still through public-health departments.”
Scott and other lawmakers said the government is “in the process” of sending test kits out and people still need to be trained on how to use them. The entire process could take days or weeks, they said.
“By the end of the week they’re getting them out to the mail,” Republican Senator James Lankford of Oklahoma said. “It’s going to take time to be able to get them, receive them, re-verify them and then be able to put them into use.”
And in the meantime the number of deaths and potentially infected just keeps rising.
Our neighbors to the North are certainly not sitting on their hands.

Canada’s top military commander issued a detailed set of “pre-pandemic planning” orders on Wednesday for units both at home and overseas.
The orders give base commanders the authority to, among other things, cancel large gatherings on bases in the event of a spike in the number of COVID-19 cases.
They also outline “additional precautions,” ranging from personal hygiene to strict reviews of all non-essential travel and leave for soldiers, sailors and aircrew.
“The intent of this is to look at all of the things we need to do to preserve the force, should this become a pandemic,” said Gen. Jonathan Vance, the chief of the defence staff, at a defence conference in Ottawa.
The military needs to preserve its ability to function and support the government if there is a full-blown health emergency, he added.
Remember how America’s Defense Secretary said that all military policies had to be cleared by the White House first?
Yeah Canada seems more concerned with keeping their people safe rather than not stepping on the their leader’s toes.
Also keep in mind that those who are diagnosed with the virus in Canada will receive free health care and will not have to fear losing their jobs.
That is what can happen if you live in a truly progressive country and actually elect somebody who knows what they fuck they are doing.
