Donald Trump revokes former director of the CIA John Brennan’s security clearance.

Clearly, this is due to the fact that John Brennan has been very critical of Trump and his administration.

Just yesterday Brennan tweeted this in response to Trump calling Omarosa a dog.

That obviously did not sit well with Tangerine Hitler and so he retaliated like a pathetic little bitch.

Here is the announcement from Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

Sanders also stated that Trump was “reviewing” the security access by James Clapper, James Comey, Michael Hayden, Sally Yates, Susan Rice, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, and Bruce Orr.

These people are all connected to the Russian investigation in one way or another, and clearly, Trump is using his executive powers to intimidate them into clamming up.

Update: Well this is interesting.

Gee, I wonder what made them release it today?

“. His recent conduct characterized by frenzied commentary is inconsistent with access to the nation’s most closely held secrets and facilities, the aim of our adversaries which is to sow division and chaos.” “rump is trying to silence the nation’s national security experts.
As the Russia noose tightens, Trump is going to desperate and extreme measures in an all-out effort to save his presidency.”

  2. Anonymous August 15, 2018 at 11:46 am

I didn’t think the security clearance was something a president has authority over. He could take away the security clearance for everyone in the FBI, CIA and Homeland security if he has sole power.

  3. Anon August 15, 2018 at 11:51 am

‘“So to say that there’s not a pattern here of back and forth suggesting that this might be retaliation by the president doesn’t seem outside the realm of possibility given the evidence,” ‘

I guess he can, without reason, now isn’t that scary

Can the President Revoke Former Officials’ Security Clearances?

    • anon August 15, 2018 at 12:58 pm

“~IT~ depends.”” Sanders clarified, Trump is considering steps by which their clearances can be revoked because “they’ve politicized and, in some cases, monetized their public service and security clearances,” as well as “ma[de] baseless accusations of improper contact with Russia or being influenced by Russia against the President.””we’ll just have to wait and see.”

“If the president were to take this unprecedented exercise of his authority, it is anyone’s guess how the courts would construe the issue. It would set up a serious clash of constitutional questions between the inherent authority of the president regarding classified information, the procedural due-process rights of clearance holders under the Fifth Amendment, and the extent to which the judiciary is even permitted to rule on the matter.”

    • ADAM August 15, 2018 at 1:13 pm

“There is a process for revoking a security clearance and Donald Trump didn’t follow that process, which means that the president who believes that he is above the law has broken the law.

Schiff’s comments are important because if Democrats win back control of the House of Representatives, he will be in charge of the committee that will investigate the Russia scandal, but also be responsible for oversight of the intelligence community. Democrats are likely to investigate Trump for his revoking of security clearance for Brennan and anyone else that this president tries to go after.”

“In adding John Brennan to his enemies list, Trump demonstrates again how deeply insecure and vindictive he is — two character flaws dangerous in any President.

An enemies list is ugly, undemocratic and un-American. I also believe this action to silence a critic is unlawful.”

      • Anon August 15, 2018 at 1:51 pm

Brennan said his integrity is more important than his security clearance. He said he is not going to stop speaking up.

Reporter wrecks Trump’s rationale for revoking Brennan’s clearance by pointing out they haven’t revoked Flynn’s

Bloomberg reporter Justin Sink on Wednesday blew up the justification being used by the Trump administration to revoke the security clearance of former CIA Director John Brennan.

During a press briefing with White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders held in the wake of the announcement of revoking Brennan’s clearance due to his “erratic” criticism of President Donald Trump, Sink pointed out that the administration made a list of people in addition to Brennan who could lose their security clearances — and that it didn’t include a former Trump administration official who had already pleaded guilty to lying to FBI agents.

“The reason people would say this argument strains credibility is there’s obvious examples, even from this administration,” he said. “Your former national security adviser admitted to lying to the FBI. Why is this only a list of Democrats who have been critical of the administration, and why should Americans have confidence that you are taking this seriously if there’s not a single Republican on that list?”

Sanders responded by completely dodging the question.

“Again, we would certainly look at those if we deemed it necessary, and we’ll keep you posted if that list gets updated,” she said.

  6. Anon August 15, 2018 at 12:30 pm

““So I think it’s just across the board a foolish thing to do and I believe Katy Tur was probably correct in saying this is nothing more than a distraction at this point,” he concluded.

“So this really has the feel of someone simply trying to do two things, silence critics and also distract from another damaging political event that’s going on with Omarosa,” ”

“The larger issue here, to me, throughout, has been infringement on First Amendment rights. And I think people ought to think seriously about that.”

Asked exactly what he meant, Clapper said, “Infringement of our right to speak, and apparently the appropriateness of being critical of this president. Of which, in one degree or another, all of us have been.””

“Sanders responded by completely dodging the question.

“Again, we would certainly look at those if we deemed it necessary, and we’ll keep you posted if that list gets updated,””

  7. anon August 15, 2018 at 12:49 pm

“This action is part of a broader effort by Mr. Trump to suppress freedom of speech & punish critics. It should gravely worry all Americans, including intelligence professionals, about the cost of speaking out. My principles are worth far more than clearances. I will not relent.”

  8. anonymous August 15, 2018 at 12:52 pm

“This is ridiculous. I can think of few things the president has done that more directly indicate a kind of authoritarian attitude in his governing style. To pull clearances from someone is something that you see happen when leaders of countries that are trying to move them in that direction try to silence their enemies, along with other things they do. ”

“You recall what he did when he released inappropriately classified information it’s said from an Israeli report when he talked to the Russians.”

” Trump is obsessed with looking strong. Omarosa has made him look weak, so it is natural that a stunt like rovoking Brennan’s security clearance would be so appealing to him.

McLaughlin’s larger point that Trump’s move today reflects his authoritarian tendencies should be taken very seriously. Republicans in Congress are not going to function as a co-equal branch of government. As long as they hold the majority in the House and Senate, Trump will be unchecked and running wild. A Democratic Congress is the key to restoring democracy.”

  9. ANON August 15, 2018 at 1:02 pm

““I think this is ridiculous. This is nothing short of extraordinary and we should all be scared about the state of our democracy,” “The president sent his White House press secretary out there today to basically pOOp on the people from the press secretary podium.”

Simone Sanders then called out Congress for not holding the president accountable.

“What is happening here? What is Congress going to do? Congress, as I like to remind people, is a co-equal branch of government. What will Congress do? Is Paul Ryan going to say that he didn’t see this in the news cycle today?””

    • Anonymous August 15, 2018 at 3:36 pm

That’s been my question throughout all of this. Where the **** is Congress?
Are they so scared of their precious seats that they’ll give him carte blanche and sell OUR country right out from under us?

      • Anonymous August 16, 2018 at 4:30 am

        Where the **** is Congress?
Well the republicans are busy cashing their checks from the NRA and putin.

In Tuesday’s decision, Copperthite rejected the defendants’ argument that the “deliberative process privilege” justified shielding documents sought by the ACLU.

Finding it hard to believe that “circumstances regarding readiness and deployability have changed so dramatically,” the judge said the documents were likely to show the government’s intent behind the ban, and whether it was for military purposes or “purely for political and discriminatory purposes.”

Copperthite also said Trump’s tweets “put the President front and center as the potential discriminating official,” but that presidential confidentiality deserved “the greatest possible protection,” justifying a delay in a ruling on Trump.

ACLU lawyer Josh Block said the decision means the administration must set forth its “actual reasons” for the ban.

“It is difficult to believe that concerns about fitness and deployability changed so dramatically in such a short time,” Block said in an interview. “It suggests they may have been a pretext for a discriminatory purpose.”

Well Brennan is not going to stop his criticism of trump, security clearance or not.

Trump is going to have to explain why Flynn, who is a criminal, still has his security clearance !!! More LIES, I am sure.

…..Mr. Brennan has a history that calls into question his objectivity and credibility.

…… to make a series of unfounded and outrageous allegations, wild out burse bursts on the internet and television about this administration. His recent conduct characterized by frenzied commentary is inconsistent with access to the nation’s most closely held secrets and facilities, the aim of our adversaries which is to sow division and chaos

King Trump has his way again. And again, no one in America seem to know if he has that power because people seems so damned ignorant of our complacent laws. King Trump will soon be saying “off with their heads” as the little critters roll themselves up into a ball and let themselves be hit into a hole in one. King Trump now sings “who’s been painting my roses red?!” And America has nary a care that they are run by a tyrant because they’ve had their heads up their asses for so long that now they can’t tell the difference between Russia and America.
