Donald Trump pushes back against revelations that deal with Mexico was mostly completed before he threatened them with tariffs.

Yesterday the New York Times reported this:

The deal to avert tariffs that President Trump announced with great fanfare on Friday night consists largely of actions that Mexico had already promised to take in prior discussions with the United States over the past several months, according to officials from both countries who are familiar with the negotiations.

Friday’s joint declaration says Mexico agreed to the “deployment of its National Guard throughout Mexico, giving priority to its southern border.” But the Mexican government had already pledged to do that in March during secret talks in Miami between Kirstjen Nielsen, then the secretary of homeland security, and Olga Sanchez, the Mexican secretary of the interior, the officials said.

The centerpiece of Mr. Trump’s deal was an expansion of a program to allow asylum-seekers to remain in Mexico while their legal cases proceed. But that arrangement was first reached in December in a pair of painstakingly negotiated diplomatic notes that the two countries exchanged. Ms. Nielsen announced the Migrant Protection Protocols during a hearing of the House Judiciary Committee five days before Christmas.

And then Bloomberg reported this:

President Donald Trump boasted of “large” agricultural sales to Mexico as part of a deal reached Friday on border security and illegal immigration that averted the threat of U.S. tariffs, but the deal as released had none, and three Mexico officials say they’re not aware of any side deal.

Trump did not appreciate the little dog pulling back the curtain on this bullshit, so he fired up the old Twitter account this morning and launched these responses:

So this is the test for whether or not Trump has undermined the press enough that people will believe him over the reporting by journalists for some of the most prestigious news outlets in the country.

It’s not a hard choice for me.

Ol Don John should consider thinking with his mushroom instead of that pile of shit above his shoulders. His reign of error couldn’t get any worse.

Notice that he’s always evasive and repetitive in his tweets when he’s trying to cover up a falsehood. He says a lot of words about things being “great”, how bad the previous administrations were, but never any specifics about the subject at hand.

In this particular case, he doesn’t mention the dates of the agreement and the length of the negotiations, nor does he mentions Mexico’s commitment to buy american produce (because there is no such agreement). He just spews hot air to reframe the story to his advantage and accuse the media of lying.

He lies as easily as he breathes and it’s a mystery that anyone still believes him.

Of course the deal was completed before he opened his butt hole mouth, they don’t just sit down and come up with an agreement in a few minutes or because little donnie threatens them. it takes hours of negotiations.
