Donald Trump openly attempts to obstruct Russia investigation by declassifying highly sensitive documents and even text messages.

A president under investigation releasing classified information about that investigation is a whole new level of obstructionism.

Courtesy of NBC News:

In an unprecedented move that stunned current and former intelligence officials, President Donald Trump on Monday ordered the public release of highly classified documents and text messages related to the FBI investigation into whether his campaign conspired with Russia.

A statement by the White House press office said Trump had directed the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), the Department of Justice and the FBI to declassify about 20 pages of a highly sensitive application for surveillance against Carter Page, a one-time Trump foreign policy aide.

The documents Trump is releasing reflect a specific request, down to the page numbers, made by the Republican members of the House judiciary and intelligence committees this summer. Justice and intelligence officials had resisted releasing the information on the grounds that it was too sensitive.

Trump also ordered the agencies to publicly release, in full, all text messages relating to the Russia investigation of former FBI Director James Comey, Former Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, former FBI employees Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, and current Justice Department lawyer Bruce Ohr, a Russian organized crime expert. Those are all people Trump has criticized as out to get him. All had Top Secret clearances granting them access to sensitive government secrets.

Trump’s directive caught intelligence agencies off-guard, and it remained unclear Monday whether national security professionals would have any opportunity to challenge any aspect of the decision.

Of course, it caught the intelligence agencies off guard, because if they had known they would have told Trump that this was a stupid and incredibly dangerous decision.

Here is what Vox had to say about this:

Those materials include a few specific things Trump wanted declassified: certain sections of the Carter Page FISA application (but, notably, not other sections of it) and FBI interviews related to Page, as well as FBI interviews with Justice Department official Bruce Ohr.

The real bombshell, though, was in the second paragraph of Sanders’s statement: “President Donald J. Trump has directed the Department of Justice (including the FBI) to publicly release all text messages relating to the Russia investigation, without redaction, of James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, and Bruce Ohr.”

In other words, the president is demanding the release of an enormous amount of internal material, without redaction, about an ongoing investigation into his campaign and his associates.

Those text messages could discuss all manner of things, including, potentially, investigators’ suspicions, secret evidence, investigative methods, and information on confidential sources whose lives could be put at risk (if his instruction to release them “without redaction” truly is carried out).

This is going to be a huge mess with the conservative media picking through all of this with a fine tooth comb to find bits and pieces they can take out of context in order to attack the investigation itself or to attack those they see as Trump enemies such as Peter Strzok, James Comey, and of course Robert Mueller.

Trump himself is on Twitter openly discussing what he expects from all of this:

This is going to be bad.

But look, he certainly got the media to turn its attention away from Brett Kavanaugh and the attempted rape accusation, now didn’t he?

Where are the adults in the White House who are patriots monitoring this impulsive chaotic POTUS? They failed to interpret this bad play. Perhaps Trump is keeping his cards a secret now since the NYT op ed.

And not a word from GOP leadership in Congress. Nothing.

This is a dreadful state of affairs. The president is a traitor, not even trying to hide it anymore. And the Congressional Republicans, whose job it is to check the excesses of the executive branch, are in hiding somewhere desperately trying over the glitch in their fast-track confirmation of Kavanaugh back in gear and terrified of standing up to their president before the midterm election. Adam Schiff, House Democrat from California, said yesterday that this latest move from Don the Con will jeopardize the lives of people who have risked their lives to provide the US with information for years. This is just what Putin wants. There will probably be another spate of poisonings around the world.

“It’s bad enough that Trump is trying “to force the release of highly sensitive documents from a pending counterintelligence criminal investigation,” “But the obvious motive is the real scandal: the president is the subject of this investigation.”
” as far as we’re told, has never actually read these highly sensitive documents,” said Dilanian. “And neither has Donald Trump. So they’re not sure what sources and methods could be compromised.” He also noted Nunes made his political motivation for releasing the documents clear, in a speech earlier in the week in which the congressman “said explicitly it would help the Republicans win the fall election.”

The tapes reportedly document Trump using the N-word and calling his son Eric Trump an RETARD.
Controversial actor Tom Arnold reportedly confronted “The Apprentice” producer Mark Burnett at a Sunday night Emmy Awards party and told him that Farrow had possession of the tapes.

“Discussing last night’s incident with a group of party attendees, we hear an excited Arnold was asked if he actually had any Apprentice tapes of Trump and answered in the affirmative. He said they had been “handed over” to New Yorker journalist Farrow on Sunday,”

“In 15 years on The Apprentice Mark Burnett never attacked Donald Trump for making racist comments or sexually harassing women. Last night as I entered The Night Before The Emmy’s Party, Burnett violently attacked & choked me for doing a TV show about Trump doing those things.”
    9:38 PM – Sep 17, 2018

” Arnold explained that Burnett is on the MGM board and that he and other board members are worried about the scandal involving these tapes. According to Arnold, the FCC requires that any conversation between a producer and host be filmed, because “The Apprentice” was technically a game show. So, MGM has tons of footage of Trump saying any manner of obscenities.

Omarosa says that she’s heard a tape of Donald Trump using the ‘n-word’ on the set of The Apprentice but Arnold maintains there is a lot more than that.
Witnesses Sunday night party said that after Arnold’s physical altercation with Burnett he told everyone around him in a loud voice that the Apprentice tapes had been handed over to Ronan Farrow.”

“Those close to the president view the next few days as a virtual X-ray on the backbone of their party and a litmus test for the future of Trump’s presidency.”
“You take away the whole ‘We’re sick of winning’ message. That’s a huge, marquee, top-line loss.”
“Trump allies say they were taken aback by the president’s muted tone. “I don’t think the president ever gets scared, but it shows us the seriousness of what we’re heading into this week,” the 2016 Trump campaign veteran said. “I thought for sure he’d come out swinging. The fact that he didn’t means he knows how serious this is. We very rarely hear that tone from him.”
“a major humiliation for Trump, who has made two distinct promises to conservative voters: that he revels engaging in political fights and that he will stack the judiciary with nominees they love. One senior administration official said that pulling Kavanaugh at this moment would be akin to Team Trump signing its own political “death warrant.” “The Supreme Court was one of the top reasons why many Republicans supported President Trump during the 2016 campaign.
If they were to pull OUT Kavanaugh, there is a real chance of depressing the base.” THREAT>“There will be huge consequences for any Republican who backs away,” and who gives the Democrats “any lane to scuttle this nomination,” warned Matt Schlapp, a prominent Trump surrogate, Kavanaugh friend, and chair of the American Conservative Union. “We will score the vote on Judge Kavanaugh… and we will hold them accountable.”

” Robert Jeffress, a Dallas megachurch pastor and Trump ally, told The Daily Beast on Monday afternoon that the White House had reached OUT to him “to ask what I was hearing and feeling about this, and what other evangelical leaders”
“I said ultimately they needed to determine where [Senators Susan] Collins and [Lisa] MURKOWSKI were on this,” he said of the two main moderate swing votes. “There is no reason to expend political capital on someone who is unconfirmable.”

Stormy Daniels >”She describes Trump’s penis as “smaller than average” but “not freakishly small”.

“He knows he has an unusual penis,” Daniels writes. “It has a huge mushroom head. Like a toadstool…

“I lay there, annoyed that I was getting fucked by a guy with Yeti pubes and a dick like the mushroom character in Mario Kart…

“It may have been the least impressive sex I’d ever had, but clearly, he didn’t share that opinion.”

‘WHAT? It’s one of those flower stem penises that has a disproportionately sized knob at the top? In other words, it’s like Brett Kavanaugh’s entire body in penis form? EW!’
“Among other details revealed in the Guardian’s blurb, Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, says that after she had sex with Trump, he promised to put her on his dumb reality show “The Celebrity Apprentice,” and he even said he would rig the show so she was sure to last at least a few episodes. “He was going to have me cheat, and it was 100 percent his idea,” she writes. (Wonder if cheating with the Russians to “win” the election was 100% his idea too.)” Michael A. tweet>

This is even more crucial with Judge Rape Van still inexplicably in the process of being confirmed to the Supreme Court.”

“Trump not to go scorched-earth on Ford. If Trump antagonizes women voters, it could increase the odds Republicans would lose both houses in Congress. “Trump knows the Senate is not looking good,” an outside adviser said. “It’s all about the impeachment, he knows it’s coming.” “Trump told a friend in the Oval Office last week that it would be Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan’s fault if Republicans lost the House and the Senate, according to a person familiar with the conversation. “This is the election about Ryan and McConnell—it’s about those guys,” Trump said. Trump referred to his 2020 campaign as “the real election.” “Impeachment is coming for Donald Trump. The game has always been for Trump to hang on to power and corruptly squeeze as much cash out of the presidency and the taxpayers before he is run out of office.

A real election is happening in November and the road after Election Day likely leads straight to the impeachment of this president.”

Today on MSNBC, the discussion centered on the release of classified information and the idea for the release of those documents supposedly came from Trump’s ass-kisser, Devin Nunes.

I can’t wait to find out what the Russians have on that guy.
